A small sidelight: The Selig Zoo was once home to Jackie, the MGM lion from 1928-1956. You could even arrange a "meeting" with him; I've heard he liked getting company.

I heard that eventually the statues will be placed throughout the zoo and not at the zoo entrance as planned before.
