  • excellent!

  • Hmm pretty cool movie lol fix that part 8 tho dude k

  • those were definitely gollum screams when they were fighting, i really like this movie for a lot of reasons. especially the end when their conflict was reduced to the most primal state, one pawn cornered and each attacking the other, or perhaps they better resembled primates in that brute struggle we all just enjoyed in this scene. they have proven that they both are immature and contemptible, even though they have had families and have demonstrated high degrees of intellect, one only seems

  • more justified because he was condemning a confirmed criminal, but in they end they are both guilty, one only fractionally more so than his counterpart. this is proven because of the fact that the lawyer was willing to send a man to an anal rape castle for his crimes, and this is more than any man deserves. de niro had much to contribute to society, i would argue that even though he was guilty, the proper form of rehabilitation is not to be feminized, but rather to understand the underlying

  • causes of his desire to commit sexual abuse. these factors i believe are the result of society itself, for while society is able to churn out innumerable laws for any and all conceivable offenses, it only rarely creates anything that is even remotely connected to justice. this film is really worth an in depth exposition but having to split my message into numerous posts is decreasing my desire to describe it decisively, distinctively, or diligently.

  • 'if you hang on to the past you die a little each day', what a load of bull shoes. this cant be taken as a general statement, it may be certain in some cases, we all can think of those examples in which individuals or institutions cling too tightly to obsolete or outdated standards and ideals, but then again think of those times when the hero's and champions of humanity's ancestry are recalled with reverence and honor, epic chronicles of the efforts, achievements, and attempts of our progenitors

  • Thumbs up if you started pissing yourself laughing when he was speaking Jibberish while sinking lol

  • lol @ the rock fight. When I first saw this, I was working 3rd shift at IBM. I was on the floor, silent die laughing and drooling. One of the funniest scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

  • 9:25

    Scream.

  • 8:52 - :59 Info. at the top.

  • With the burnt off hair he looks even more like Waylon Mercy

  • awesome movie ! De NIro is superb here... a crazy bad ass mofo !

  • Even at minus eight this is a great movie... Thanks for posting.

  • I love me some Robert De Niro:)

  • @peymaania What???

  • This movie scared the shit outta me when I was a kid and watched it for the first time.

  • No wonder he went mad from doing those crap comedy films liek Analyze Me and meet the mohter f%#@&ckers...

  • i think lori is pretty! :D

  • blink182invenezuela: you are the best, man!! i love this movie, and you share it with us!! thank you!!!

  • Please click 1:19 for Beast Mode.

  • I dislike Max Cady.

  • what a joke...Scorsese's only poor movie

  • @Asskicker32294 Bullshit. You're too stupid to understand it.

  • I lol'd hard at 1:21

    xD

  • De niro speaking in tounges, great acting!

  • great

  • 1:36 Are you sure De Niro is the scary freak? Geez!

  • Where the Heck is Part 8??

  • 2:43 de niro scares the shit outta me

  • Wow! What more can I say. A film from the time when Robert De Niro could act, instead of playing a stereotype of himself (for example 'Meet the Fockers'). He's so sinister in this.

  • @NCW250 there arent enough roles available to accomodate his immense talent... he makes way too many movies.. alot of them are crap ... he can afford to be alot more choosy

  • I WITH THEY MAKE CAPE FEAR 2....

  • BEST MOVIE EVER...I AM IN LOVE WITH THE CHARACTER OF MAX CADY!!!

  • Thanks so much for uploading the movie.

  • Nick Nolte could've just as easily been nominated for Best Actor alongside De Niro. Both of them are amazing!

  • Nick Nolte could've played Gollum 1:36-142

  • Nick Nolte REALLY looks scary at 1:35...

  • WEIRD SCREAMING NOISE AT 9:25!!!!!!

  • I was watching this movie last summer in June on Encore Mystery and it was around 10:00 at night. The last of the end credits where the strange screaming noise is heard, when the R-rating blue screen pops up @ 9:07, I change the channel because I thought Max Cady was going to jump at the camera out of the water. Good movie, BTW.

  • This fight scene reminds me of the fight scene from DARR

  • @Raider1648 Who said anything about Cady being numb to pain? Cady mentioned that he taught himself to be more than human, meaning that he has a much higher tolerance to pain than the average human being. After all, animals of much greater physique than the average human feel pain too, do they not?

There is not a human or an animal alive that doesn't feel SOME degree of pain within its lifetime.

  • @masterdeviance1985 Anybody can take a great film and compare it to a lesser film and then call it "overdone", but only when you compare it to an underdone film of a bygone era. The 1991 remake was a masterpiece...not because the majority of the audience thinks so, but because the film possesses the attributes of a masterpiece. Apparently you are part of the minority alone in your opinions, since you are unaware of the essential elements that define what a genuine work of art truly is.

  • @c3789 Have you seen the original? If you had, you'd understand that the 1962 version had the same menacing and brooding atmosphere, minus the overdone and ham-fisted tone of the 1991 remake. Scorcese has directed a number of genuine works of art in his illustrious career, but this was most certainly NOT one of them.

  • never saw the original and not sure what the original brings to the screen but as a movie standing by itself i think cape fear (1991) is a great movie...

  • @sfumato1002 Not if the original has Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. De Niro is a great actor, but the remake was dumb and over-the-top. Not one of Scorsese's shining moments.

  • I cannot stop laughing at 1:10 -LOLzzz hahaha! Great movie tho! DeNiro was great!

  • the music at the ending credits is so scary

  • whats with the water tinkling and the screaming at 9:25? did he come back and kill them or something?

  • @Cimozzen Yeah that what I wanna know. What was that about.

  • forever haunted.

  • SO HERE WE ARE LAWYER, JUST TWO COUNSELORS, WORKIN IT OUT!!!!!!!!!

  • @sfumato1002

Yeh Robert De Niro and Julliete Lewis are the people who made this film good. Without their acting it would have been another rubbish re-make. Robert De Niro especially was so terrifying in this. Had it not been Anthony Hopkins up that year for Silence of the Lambs, I think he would have had the oscar in the bag.

  • great movie

  • I think cady is still alive..the bastard just won't die

  • @Abovewater26

i thought the same thing. immortal....

  • Even thought Cady probably died i still wouldn't feel safe until the cops showed me the body and DNA evidence that it was him.

  • shutter island theme song? ;)

  • I love that last stare between Cady and Sam.

  • Well DAMN! Only one of the smokers died...

  • You see how this experience affected Danielle. After this she grew up to become a natural born killer.

  • @reln72 Natural Born Killers great movie with Woody Harrelson & Julite Lewis XD

  • @reln72 well she was a killer before that in the film, too young to die .

  • @reln72 XD

  • @reln72 she didn't grow up to be a killer.

  • @BigVick4506 how do you know?

  • @reln72 Wrong character.

  • @027220 no same character. Juliette Lewis.

  • @reln72 Danielle in this, Mallory Knox in the other.

  • @027220 Ah you are correct. It seems that she changed her name to Mallory after this episode and left home.

  • @reln72 She's an 'actress.'

  • Check it out 4:00. She's a cyborg. A Terminator.

  • god i love martin scorsese!!

  • I love Robert De Niro, but the southern accent just isnt him

  • I watch this movie when I was 12yrs old with a fren of mine..we came back to e theatre not once but twice to watch it again..for a 12 yrs old to understood n appreciate this kind of movie mean a lot..it set e bar high up n give us a good sense of taste to look for in other movies..n yes deniro is our fan from then on..........u fuck with me..fuck u!!!fuck u n ur fuckin family....kahkahakah..

  • 4:26 - 5:06 is what to think about when it comes to the killers of Selena, John Lennon, etc.

  • in the end I say Cady won because he wanted to take away the "counselor's" humanity and he did just that

  • i say in the end Max one he wanted to take away "counsellors" humanity and he did just that

  • *claps*

  • and they lived happily ever after.

  • Great movie, actors, directors did an excellect job.

  • Query: What is the just compesation sir? Held down by four black guys, or four white guys? Answer: because of the deficit, you actually owe money and aren't owed money; therefore, you shall be held down by four hundred black guys and four hundred white guys.

  • was a good film all the actors were incerdible , thanks for posting it

  • They look like two apes trying to kill each other...

  • This was certainly not one of Martin Scorsese's best movies in my book. But to say the least, it was immensely entertaining. When you watch his movies, you always notice specific details that make you wanna watch the scene again and again. I lovingly refer to him as the king of rewatch.

  • In the true sense of the word, Robert Deniro is a brilliant method actor.

  • Wow. It took me over 3 hours to watch this movie because it was in segments, but it was extremely good! Talk about psychotic!

  • de niro best actor 2 live

  • damn robert de niro can do anything as an actor he can play the don 2 the italian mafia he can play a crazy rapist he can play an crazed baseball fan and he can play a loving dad

  • 9:07 to 9:36

    ........what just happened?

  • @Iwantmynintendo

holy shit, is that just random noises from the song, or is it technically part of the movie? I'm picturing Cady holding his breath for a couple minutes, washing ashore and limping around as some children run and scream in terror. Or maybe he did die, but its just a general sentiment that a true villain never dies, he lives on in our minds and haunts us forever.

  • I guess it was great in the fact that it emulated the old classic movies, but added the brutal and realistic elements we aren't scared to add to movies now adays.

I for one enjoyed it, even though every person besides the villian was a total fucking idiot.

  • speakin' in tongues, yea he gone........

  • Doesnt anybody find it kinda ironic that max beat the shit out of 3 guys at once bt he cnt beat nick nolt one on one

  • @rhino2205 good point but he was high on drugs when he beat shit outta those guys

besides, nick nolte's a pretty crazy dude too. :P 1:34

  • @rhino2205

Hey, even Falcon Eddie couldn't beat Nick Nolte in a fair fight.

  • I loved this movie, and this movie should be a lesson to all cops , judges , DA's , Lawyers , Social Workers , Unless they get life , the people you fuck over and put away will eventually be back one day.

  • @Taz0161 The ma really did rape the girl.

  • @fashionhistorylover That's why it takes a very special kind of person to be a criminal attorney. You have to basically be a person without feeling , without onscience , that can put aside all his/her personal animosity tword what the client did and concentrate on providing the best defense. If a person can't do that , then criminal law is not their kind of business. They better stick to corporate or personal injury law LMAO

  • This is weird but when max caddy threw that rock at nolte and it kinda bounced off his head I giggled. : (

  • Robert De Niro's Max Cady reminds me of Jason...Human creatures just can't kill him. Even when he drowns, it seems like he's going to stay alive...and come back any time to complete his revenge!

"Max Cady vs Jason" would be epic!

  • how come the crazy dude wont die

  • Comment removed

  • 1:14 - 1:19 - 1:37 fun times...

  • what did nolte see at 3:28 ?

  • @TheThroney i think he just felt the cuts on his hands heal 1:12

  • Thanks for the upload dude!

  • great ending

  • dammit this remake is better , scarier, blood and gore

  • Tounges is not "gibberish" it's a language indecipherable by man. I know many people that speak it. Only God can understand it which is why it sounds odd. I know to a non believer it sounds weird but it's true.

  • Thanks for posting! I've never seen this before. Robert Deniro was amazing like everyone else is saying. But this is an excellent film!

  • why was he so frightened when he took his hands out the water @3:30??

  • max cady @ 2mins its so funny, he still gets up after been hit with a Boulder

  • @madmikepro21 ..He wasn't hit with the rock...The current pulled him out of the way

  • @gmccall22 i know, i was been sarcastic, gosh, i know filing is fake, duh thats why its called stunts. no one really gets hurt duh even i knew that.

  • @madmikepro21 ..And what word in your comment would tell anyone that you were being sarcastic ?...NONE...duh...

  • @gmccall22 i dont know, magnificent, sorry i used the wrong word why are you even commenting on mine. i just love this movie, it never gets old. deniro plays the character more better than any other actor would. nonetheless, piss off.

  • @madmikepro21 .Why am i commenting on you ? No brainer..this is youtube, and i wasn't meaning to be an asshole at first, so you can kick fuckin rocks kid....I loved the movie too and RD...You pissed yourself off

  • @gmccall22 fine, i kill myself. lol sorry gosh

  • well he might be speaking in toungues...(sorry spellings off) but some of the words are detectable ..."glory to god" "almighty god" "hallelulah"

  • @poisoncupcake74 Check out the short video clip "Flare up Raquel gets her revenge", A woman acts quickly to save herself from a crazed phsycopath.

  • Excellent film, thanks for uploading.

  • Omg I laughed so hard at the "fighting" scene all these noices and stuff epic haha!

  • CAPE FEAR film analysis 1 of 2 by Rob Ager

    watch?v=bKnvgSJpsOc

  • Wow, worth staying up to watch. The sexual tension was incredible.... I kinda wish they actually "got it on", if you know what I mean.

  • Robert de niro is the greates psycho actor i ve seen

  • wtf is that gibberish he's saying?!

  • @AZNB33 He is pentacostal and they speak that gibberish or what they call

"tounges". Usually it's speaking a language that they wouldn't normally understand.

  • I don't know if this is a horror movie, but it sure freaked me out. If it is, then it's the first horror I've seen!

  • And I thought Shutter Island was demented.

  • Thanks for posting! thank's you Scorsese for all those great movies. Thanks you Robert for these awesome performances.

Mr. Nolte is a very underrated actor

  • dani's character was probably the most annoying

    in the whole movie

  • @jazminfggo

I'd Say one of the best she done a good job acting in this movie

  • On Jordan's Stormy Banks I Stand,

    Who Will Come With Me?

  • 2:06. I think he said Bob Vila.

  • "I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"

  • what happened at 3:27

did some fish bite his finger?

  • Why's he speaking in tounges?

  • @torreslad666 because of his blaspheme

  • @torreslad666 He's Pentacostal and they believe God is speaking through them and it's not actually them speaking the tongues, pretty nuts if you ask me

  • It's so perfect how with all the guns and technology available to them they end up fighting with rocks, like the primitive men they are underneath. And Juliette Lewis deserved every Oscar vote she got for her contrast of innocence in all that evil.

  • wicked film , thanks for the upload///////////

  • de niro was epic in that movie

  • max cady was such a republican. if the year was 2000, he would have voted for George W bush.

  • Boo hoo.

  • Comment removed

  • At least "America hating Socialists" don´t push their agenda on a retarded chain of youtube comments about a Cape Fear video.

  • LOL at the way Nick Nolte screams in the movie.

  • i hope he had insurance on the boat

  • @zaccyboy2003 That's the least of his problems.

  • Omg this was funny xD

  • tht girl never deserved an oscar nomination for this movie, all she did was annoy u for the whole movie i wanted her to die.any slasher flick actress pulls off a performance like tht

  • 2:40-2:58 EPIC

  • why does nick nolte get all scared at 3:37 ?

  • i mean 3:27

  • he thought that max was gonna come out the water.

  • i did too.....in the original the ending was more.......interesting cause Max lived and no its not what you think

  • I don't see how this movie got below an 8 on imdb.

  • @stevieVantanna people are idiots, that's how ...

  • I always wonder after Cady lets out that howl of despair if he's realizing that perhaps the God for whom he did all those evil things in His name, isn't on his side. And never was.

All the "avenging angel " crap was just a lie that kept him going.

And now disillusioned he feels empty and lost.

Facinating, multilayered performance from DeNiro. What an actor.

  • pause it at 1:20 he looks like a monster!!!!

  • Is the end supposed to hint that Dani became mentally disturbed after this happened and also because her family never talked about it with each other?

  • I think when she's says the end its because she made it part of a paper she wrote-I think thats why the begining started with her acting like she was reading from a paper. the end was her conclusion to the paper about what happened

  • Na thats too simple

  • The ending, thematically, to me, is just that, even though they killed Max, he won. Max psychologically fucked them for life.

"I hardly dream about him anymore".

Such an act of evil will torment them for the rest of their lives. And they can never genuinely feel safe.

That's how I always see it anyway.

  • Yeah that's the same point I was basically getting at, thanks:)
