  • where did you get a USB microscope?

  • @SpiderRider3 internet

  • thats how it does it! thank you for solviong an issue that was never there. What a mug 4 actually wasting some of your time looking into this, lol. twat.

  • Thank you , thank you, a thousand times thank you. It was driving me nuts contemplating how it works.

  • I do hope avanderen is joking....if not, even if it's easier, it's better to tell a child you don't know as opposed to lying.

  • The dots are triggers. So how are the sounds being produced? Pen reads trigger and ask for matching sound.

  • Thank you so much for this! My 5 year old has been asking and I promised her we would google it today if she would only go to sleep last night! So of course she remembered 1st thing this morning! Thanks for cracking the case!

  • you must tell him/her it is magic! :)

  • couldn't you just print out books then i mean its just paper with dots you could actually get free books this way wow you can even make leapfrog tag labels to put on things that the pen could read

that could be a new idea for them!

  • lol, that is actually pretty cool, who knew, looks simple but is so complex, thanks fr the video mate

  • "The tractor snapped awake and fell over over with a loud MOO!"

  • It's called dot matrix.... the "fly Pen" uses the same and dot matrix paper... its really cool but thanks for the vid i never knew leapfrog had this lol

  • COOOL!

  • what caught my attention was the previous video showing how the pen knew which book it was reading; it would go into the specific character; at first I thought it just read the words until it jumped into different characters. I found out that the books must be downloaded into the pen 1st; with a limit of about 5 to 6 books at a time. Meaning that a next generation pen is probably coming (more memory).

  • Dude...thats genius. Great investigating work man.

  • Is amazing what can be done with technology these days! Teachers being replaced by their own teaching materials. Just plain scary. Great vids in general by the way

  • Thanks for finally telling, i was still thinking about this about a week ago..!

  • wow, now that is cool, i would of thought that the camera would pick up the word and then say it or with the picture pick part of it up and know what picture it is, but tiny dots, thats just feckin amazing

  • awesome !

  • Wow! Very neat thought to have it work that way.

  • good job!

  • more amazed by your little gadgets like USB microscope!!! Where and How do you find all those things?!!!!

  • sven by anychance that little noise your pc made ... wud that have been me ;)

  • Thanks alot Sven!

I had a little conversation with you on your led-sign a few days ago. You might remember the poor lad talking about his Honda Hornet! ;-)

  • gota admit that is damn clever though lol

  • I'd have thought just incorporating some sort of OCR into the pen 'camera' would be easier than reading dots :S

  • put my mind at ease :)

  • nice sven
