I know this is an old video and you've moved on since 2007 (as we all have) but I am often astounded by bitchy comments hoopers can make. It's not about how many tricks you know, for me it's always about fun, health and happiness. If people want to be bitchy and competitive that is their prerogative and they will never find bliss within the hoop. You dress how you want, dance how you want and you bloody well enjoy yourself at the same time!

Im really not trying to put you down. I have just seen a lot of girls who haven't put nearly half the time in as other actual hoop teachers, who try to teach classes to these poor girls who throw money at them, but when it comes down to it there just not qualified. I really think your gonna go far, just hold off on giving classes for now.

I don't think its fair for you to teach hoop class's. As someone who teaches hoop classes, i feel you need to work on learning more moves i.e the vortex, isolations, stalls, illusion tricks. And what I see right now is a lot of ass shaking. Just work on your technique, and realize its an art. theres a difference between sensual, and....that. Im wishing you the best of luck. don't give up. just don't think its right to charge money to people when your not qualified to be a teacher.

Hey guys- I do really love ALL your comments. I find understanding in each.

Had a seriously tough last 5 months and only just found a little love and courage to pick up my hoop again. Hopefully will be posting again by summer- time to dust the olde camcorder off perhaps. If there is any requests.... music, costumes ideas, venues..... post it on here and maybe I will be crazy enough to try it.

Hoopers wear skin baring outfits because the hoop sticks to bare skin better than it does to clothing. Some tricks are hard to do with layers of clothing on. And anyway, people should be able to express themselves and wear what they want..If some people have hangups about it, it is their problem.

nice skills but come on...i'm wondering why hoopers wanna dress like hores...i hoop myself and i find that hooping is allready hot ...I saw a girl dressed like u at the last european juggling convention...people were makin fun of her and she was giving the impression that hoopers are only sexy chiks movin there asses...it's allready really difficult to make hoop a real juggling discipline...and these outfites dicredit us -__-

thank u 4 ur time posting this- it is an important issue 4 hoopers, i fully understand & respect where ur coming from. Hoopers come in all shapes & sizes, theres in no way any restriction on who u r or how u look. 4 me personally ive hooped in a variety or outfits & c no harm in engaging the sexy shakti element within the hoop, if it means wearing funky outfits,each 2 their own.Also please remember for beginners bare skin is easiest to learn & i get extremely hot when zoning out with my hoop!!!

why does dressing sexy have to discredit someone? I think hoopers should be able to dress however they want and the skill they display be taken seriously wether they choose to dress sexy or not. Everyone is different and I think her costumes are beautiful and I dont think she looks like a whore at all. I think everyone should rebel at this stereotype that a woman proud of her body and able to express her 'sexyness' should not be labled a whore or thought less of in any way.

It's an argument as old as art itself. Female musicians want to be taken seriously for their art and audiences want something pretty to look at. If you're hooping for yourself, then who cares. If you're hooping for audiences, you owe it to them to do whatever it takes to entertain them, as long as it doesn't compromise your own morals.

comment duely noted however if you used common sense you will see that it was put on 2 years ago- when I 1st started (not a bad standard at all). It is called skills demo as it was part of the teacher training syllabus that we did one. I also like my students to know i am human and that this is how i began- why should i edit out all mistakes???? mistakes have led me to knew tricks that ive not seen anyone else do. so let mistakes inspire!
