I'm part west indian (Trinidad and Grenada) and part AA (Afro-American). I can tell you that blacks in the U.S are not "lost", in fact the opposite is true. In terms of economic power, AAs are the richest black ethnic group on the face of the planet. The images you see of "hood niggas" is simply a way that some white people soothe their damage egoes. Not all caucasians, just those who couldn't take advantage of the opportunities presented to them.
