  • Call animal protection services when you see things like this! The state should be protecting these creatures & levying fines on the merchants.

  • @omphalopsychism I have many times

  • @seeyou414

Look at the "Legal Issues" section of the Wikipedia for Petco. Several counties in California went after them for overcharging and mishandling animals. Perhaps a suggestion to your local county officials that Walmart's animal mishandling could result in a tidy bit of revenue for the county . . . ?

    Just pondering.

  • One time I bought a crab at walmart and I chose one it was two babiy ones ant the ladie ripped the baby crabs paw or w/e off

  • @justinbiberlishes Thanks for watching and thanks for that sad story

  • I'm uploading a video of my fish buddies Tonight.

  • @jaredultimatum ok let me know when you have and I'll check them out

  • what a waste

  • @jaredultimatum That the truth

  • Walmart deosn't care if the fish have swim bladder disease, ich, or even sudden death. Who ever came up with fish at walmart is an idiot.

  • @SunniLuvsU It's gotten worse at one of my walmart that I go a lot.

  • this makes me so sad :(

  • @em0tional yeah I know

  • I bought four common Goldfish from WalMart. They were starving to the point of cannibalism. Two died, but two are still alive and doing nicely.

Whoever is in charge of the fish at my local WalMart should rot in hell.

  • @Badwhiskey6 Well at least you try to save all 4 of them.

  • what do you call that black goldfish? what it's name?

  • @aljondavid it's called a Black Moore...

  • @FlyGuy1634 thanks

  • I f***ing hate walmart their destroying america with their monopoly plus their so cruel they dont care leave fish to fish stores please!!!

  • @nikkilubbsu Thank you for your comment

  • just leave the fish alone in the ocean dickwads

  • @MsMirimiri Thanks for your comment

  • I HATE WAL-MART!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @megslover215 Thank you for your comment

  • Man wal-mart disgusts me. I wrote a letter and complained SO much to the wal-mart in sarnia ON, that they eventually got rid of their fish section. Yay! Don't buy from wal-mart. Fish anyways....

  • @roany55 Thank you for you comment.

  • @seeyou414 Your welcome. I hope that more fish owners can see videos like this and start purchasing fish from reputable dealers. Thanks for posting this video!

  • @roany55 Yes if there is a local petshop or aqautic store near by they should buy fish instead of walmart. But if your petshop or aquatic store is far and walmart is the only near place to buy fish. Buy your fish when they arrive at the store. Where ever you buy your fish from just becareful when you pick your fish.Just because the water in clean does not mean the fish are healthy

  • @seeyou414 I would just avoid purchasing from wal-mart altogether. No one is going to give the proper advise for fish keeping and the poor owner is going to end up with 4 goldfish in a ten gallon tank wondering why they all died. Also, prazipro by Hikari is a wonderful tool to prevent the spread of flukes, worms, and other parasites to the established tank. Always QT fish for at least 3 weeks before adding. Have a nice day :)

  • one time when i bought fish at wal mart he put the fish in tape water and it died

  • @dylan48gh21 Yes I know they do that all the time. Dont know why but they do it.

  • I bought two tiger barbs at Wal-Mart. And a couple of days later I noticed that one of them started staying in one place and wouldn't hardly eat, and then a couple of days later he died. And against my better, judgement I went to Wal-Mart and got another tiger barb, but luckily he has been healthy. Wal-Mart is probably not the best place to buy fish because I have never seen anybody attending to the fish. You have to ask one of the clerks to get someone to come to the fish department.

  • @tommiexander I know what you mean about waiting for someone for some help in pet department. I've had people from the paint and electronic department people come and help me.

  • i came in that batch of fish

they are slowly mutating into monsters

  • oh my god ....they never had good fish there ....pretty informative video about that crazy guys over there

  • @1999cichlid They have gotten just a little better

  • What is that fish doing at 0:16 - 0:19 O_O

  • @Kristen25bg Trying to keep its body in balance because it is very sick.

  • @seeyou414 Oh ok

  • Wow they look better than the ones at my walmart.

  • @AlbinoOctopus Frist person who has said they look better then theirs and thank you for your comment

  • @AlbinoOctopus same at my walmart

  • @fahimmama2009 They have gotten a little better in this store but they still they need alot of work.

  • wal-mart is bad about selling fish that are sick, pisses me off

  • @jen4568 Not only are they bad about selling fish and even if you do find a good one just to get help can take forever and sometimes the people working at another department are the once that help you. Becareful even if it is in good shape

  • damn they'll give u diseases

  • @adrillikatithang Thank you for your comment

  • They stock fish like they do their bread.. they stick it out there and wait for it to sell.

  • @aneal138 That's true and I have compaine about this and it's like it goes in one ear and out the other.

  • I hate walmart because of selling sick fishes

  • This is why you never buy from huge chain stores... or any store that is only after money for that matter. The quality of life and health of the animal should be the top priority of any animal seller - obviously not the case at Walmart and a lot of chain pet stores.

  • @FlowingDepths These days to find stores that sell good and healthy fish are hard to come by even some of moms and pops stores are sometimes worse then the chain stores. But not all moms and pops and chain stores are that bad.

  • Walmart can probably manage to sell all their fish cheaper than PetCo and PetSmart because they get the sick ones.. And the two other stores get the other "healthy" ones.

  • @scaremenga They can and they used sell their fish cheap but not any more. For the price of buying 1 fancy goldfish at walmart I can 2 at petco even though I have to travel 30 miles away its worth the trip. To get a realy good fish at walmart you need to go when they arrive. Ask when and time they come in most people will tell.

  • @seeyou414

The WalMart in my area sells Green Spotted Puffers for about $3-4, compared to PetCo's $20+ price.. definitely something wrong there. Their Cichlids are also much cheaper. Goldifsh are a little bit more costly at WalMart than at PetSmart though. I'm guessing that their (both WalMart And PetSmart) prices are very dependent on where you live. WalMart restocks their fish every Thursday, as does PetSmart; for me anyways.

  • @scaremenga The price of your Spotted Puffers are the same here. PetCo and Petsmart no matter where you go will always be the same price sometimes yes their is just a little difference not that much. The Spotted Puppers are the same price at WallMart here as it is where you live. Larger goldfish are over $5.00 almost $6.00 and for small cichlids like the Oscars $10.00

  • they are wrong that like fish torchering

  • This is why it is very important to report any abuse of any animal no matter what store you go to. Complaine to the store manager. If they dont listen to ASPSA or groups like that

  • torchering? the word's torturing pal.

  • I agree with you on that yes it is torchering and not sick fish . You're the 14 th person who has said that word.

  • dat jst don't make any sense walmart can't take care of nothing every time you go 2 their fish they are always floating up to tha top or they're eating another fish they should'nt be allowed to raise fish

  • That is why it is important that when ever you see something like this repoted to the main store manager and not the manager from thisi department. If they wont or have not done anything about it then write to me and I tell you who to complaine about it.

  • I feel bad for thse guys. If you want a fish, I'd suggest going to Petsmart.

  • The only real difference from the fish at walmart and petsmart and other stores are that they "petsmart " take out there dead fish before people come into the store and not always I have been to many petsmart stores and find sick and dead fish.. Walmart does not take out there fish right away.

  • Yeah I think they empty the tanks once a month...maybe year.

  • That's true!! I actually saw dead goldfishes and minnows in the tanks the other day at Petsmart.

  • lol the music

  • It had no music at frist but I put the music by accident

  • walmart fail

    lol

  • I agree but if you realy want to get the good fish before they die or get sick. Go when the fish arrive at the store. If you know the people there they will even hold them for you before they start to sell the fish again.

  • Wow, I see this almost everyday since I work at a Wal*mart, It's probally cause they don't feed them and they are deseased. The last time I got my fish from Wal*Mart, I watch in horror as the Wal*Mart associate put the fish in plain untreated tapwater, they died with-in minutes. The worker are not educated on fishcare, but should be trained. And the fish should be fed.

  • I agree that they should educate all the works at wal-mart becuase I sometime see people from another department working in the fish department and they only know a lttle or nothing at all. You can report them if you to know how let me know.

  • That's right that is why they get sick but sometimes its not the store but the dealers who send them to the stores.

  • put em on a hook and go bass fishing

  • I catch alot of catfish more than I do with the bass

  • those poor fish D: That too is discracefull

  • Yes I know and they have changed alot.

  • I have seen your vidoes and I have done everything that you wrote on your video. But that sometimes does not work so I plan to make a video which I hope will end the selling of fish at walmart or start getting people who know how to take care of them.

  • I know and I complaine every time I go to a walmart store .

  • Thats awful. There is clearly a lack of oxygen in that tank, which is why those fish are sucking at the surface of the water. They are slowly suffocating - what a waste of life!

  • why is there a lack of oxygen?

  • The pumps that they use may have a time. I wil ask next time I go there.

  • There does not appear to be an airbrick in there, or any way of getting oxygen into the water. Plants would do it as well. You can see that the fish are sucking at the surface of the water - this is because the transition of oxygen into the water is olny occuring at the surface. It can happen in well planted fish tanks too, most filters have a means of blowing bubbles into the water in order to raise the oxygen level.

  • Only 1% of 'water' in the wild or in a tank is gas, and of that only 1% should be oxygen. If it drops below that then the fish will have serious problems, as can be seen here.

  • The air pumps at walmart have a timer.

  • Even so, its clearly not on for long enough.

  • That's true.

  • Good reportage. I hate when stores hold livestock in conditions that let them get sick and also spread their sicknesses to other ones.
