  • The single greatest sweep I have ever learned!

  • could you also kick the knee out with your left foot as a secondary attempt?

  • very good.thanks...

  • how would you pull him onto your knee without the gi? would you just overhook his arm

  • Your gi is so legit haha. Great video as always!

  • can you do this no-gi

  • Hey Ari , just want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to get into Jiu Jitsu , I Love it! it's awesome. Theres no jiu Jitsu school in my town or anywhere near which really sucks ;( but i try to learn everything from your videos and i have to say it's quite cool :) all your videos and moves and i looooove sweeps they're awesome. Thanks a lot for that! :) Keep it going.

I'm From Germany so don't judge me for any mistakes ;)

  • Great vid - love the tip about the rocking motion to load your opponent's weight on to the top leg!

  • one of my favorite moves right here....however, sometimes i don't always execute it properly. noticed a few small details after watching this a few days back, and used it perfectly against a guy who i always have lots of trouble with, i can never sweep him or anything. tapped him from the top after sweeping him, thanks a lot guys, this vid definitely helped me out.

  • nice sweep.....i didnt know ashton kutcher did BJJ lol

  • Does this work with no gi? (Grabbing his neck and wrist instead?) :D

  • @MrDonzINN that's how I was originally taught the sweep. It works.

  • I wonder if I could use this in Kenpo/Kempo. hmmm

  • Great vid guys, but I bet the view count would go up with hot, equally technically skilled girls doing it. But honestly it was very educational, easy to see what was going on, and well done. Great work.

  • cool

  • lol the guy in white looks so awkward

  • everytime i hear him say mount position i think of dwight shrewt.

  • THIS IS REAL WRASSLIN'

  • he makes it looks easy. but like everything in jiu-jitsu, its really hard to execute

  • @pepinho89 what is hard today, is easy tomorrow. Constant practice makes things easier.

  • @pepinho89 If it's hard to execute you could be missing a detail or doing i wrong.

  • This is my favorite sweep, everyone I train with expects to determine the? scissors returning! Thanks for the demo!

  • the white gi's left arm is free to hack and punch and poke eyes out, this move is not perfect. plus this move depends on clothing to grab, so its useless on a shirtless fighter.

  • My friends a black belt in karate. And two old ladys beat him up ,before he could take his socks and shoes off LOL

  • Well, seems a good technique, but i think that this leaves your whole arm open for varius locks.Plus, how can you do this if the guy ontop doesnt keep his distance?

  • what if the enemy has a shirt on that doesnt go to the wrist ??

  • @Gizmotrold You can still grab and pull his arm

  • 2:13

"No eye contact, no eye contact, no eye....DAMN IT"

  • @mad4misty from a fat dude.....who doesnt know shit about nothing.......back to you basement FATASS

  • what if the other guy is wearing a short sleeve shirt? or no shirt?

  • What if your opponent is fat? you can't pull your knee in over his belly

  • YOU SYMBOLIZE HOPE

  • SEXT

  • I train Sanshou & Kempo just wanted to say great job on the the videos, very clear breakdown of the techniques demonstrated.BJJ is amazing.

  • Never knew Ashton Kutcher was a purple belt!

  • Emfield showed me that little "kick the knee" trick. You gotta love Pedro Affiliates. :)

  • aston kutcher!

  • Love that last bit on pushing the knee, thanks Ari!

  • Lol i use this technique all the time. One of my fave sweeps :D

  • good explanation could use a little more on the loading dynamic

  • Why does Ari have on a purple belt?

  • @Isil1972 because hes a keith owen purple belt

  • @JiuDoRick yep and Eddie Bravo as well. My older videos, I had my JJJ bb on.

  • when doing this you gotta be fast cause if your opponent sees you open your legs he can pass right away to half mount

  • very nice!

  • This is my favorite sweep, everyone I train with expects to see the scissors coming! Thanks for the demo!

  • Ari! I love your gi! Please tell me where I can get one!

  • @Enoki2487 They are special sub 101 gis coming out in Nov 2011!

  • @Submissions101 i ll chalenge u to mortal kombat i ll be subzero

  • @Submissions101 I agree, that gi is RAW! Will they be available from the website or what? ;D

  • the videos are great and everything but could we get some no gi versions?

  • aaahhhh, that bread and butter sweep.

  • In my opinion and experience I find it useful to set up the scissor sweep with my knee pointing to his opposite shoulder and my other foot on his hip so he can not pin my knees and get the pass. Once you are ready to sweep then you can drop the knee and foot to get the sweep.

  • Thank you for the effective tips.

  • so many variations of so many moves...requires intelligence and staying calm in a real fight situation.

  • im liking the white belt series

  • nice very practical, great tip

  • can I use this in a self defense situation?

  • @Zeferak grab the shirt or the head of the guy, get a hold of his wrist and do ur best. There is so much variations, so use whatever you can get a hold of. The guy wont even probably know any ground game

  • @Zeferak If you're an experienced grappler and some guy is just mugging you, i'd say you should just apply a submission. He'll never see it coming.

  • @Zeferak No, street fight rules forbids it

  • @Plambda hahaa.

  • @Plambda Street fight RULES???? the hell you talking bout???

  • @cappydawg

    He's obviously making a joke...

  • @Plambda hahaha

  • @Plambda there are no rules ina street fight

  • @guiseppe2200 Uhm, I definitely remember there being rules in my last street fight. I also checked "street fight" on wikipedia, and yes, there are some rules, rule #4: "You can't scissor sweep from guard, since it gives a clear advantage". Not to be confused with the "Street Fighter" franchise, where every combo is allowed.

  • @Plambda lol ok dude

  • @Zeferak if you never trained it... prob not, the rest of us can

  • A simple sweep from the guard, the Scissor Sweep.

  • @Submissions101 Is this viable in a No-Gi situation?

  • @ToLazy4Name Of course. Instead of gi control, you grab the back of the head/neck like a collar tie and then the tricep and use the exact same motion to sweep.

  • @Submissions101 I guess you can also grab his hair on the back of his head if possible

  • @Submissions101 hey guys what happened to the rest of the wrestling series?
