You are right about the rider, but not about the bike. These bikes have a short stroke and bigger bore, causing a lower amount of torque, which makes them lug out really easily. Also, if you lug out on one of these and tip it over going up a hill, you better have your leg rested up cause you'll be kicking for awhile, unless you have a hot start.

not entirely true.....4 strokes are a lot of fun too.....i guess it depends on what youre doing....for motocross yeah 2 strokes are but for trail riding 4 strokes are because they have more torque and power so they can climb steeper hills. Any dirt bike is fun though.

the rm-z 450 is only good at the track. the guy who is ride this bike probibly had to stop like a million times for breaks or because the bike overheated. the 450 is to heavy for riding single track. the studies did prove that a 250 two is the best but the xr 250 is probibly your best shot because it is the perfect amount of everything and at a lite wieght. Plus it doesnt start fires in the bushes after you ride in there with a smoker.

traction is the big 4 stroke advantage that no one talks about wich is a lot more important then top speed or hp there is no use having all the power of a 2 stroke cause they just dont get it to the ground i had a rm 250 mate had a rmz450 have rode yz125 and yz250f same case in all these bikes 2 strokes are yesterdays news 4 strokes are now. new rmz 450 coming my way very soon!!!dont get me wrong either i still do love the 2 banger!!!

actually, I think you should check out the Honda CRF250, the four strokes have more power than 2 strokes and the power is more consistant, powerband is annoying, weight really isn't an issue anymore, the honda's have extremely good feel and handleing, and they have crazy power, slap on a beefy exaust, im a small dude and i can kill dudes on 450's with my HondaCRF250..it's the bike of choice....check them out.

2 strokes actually have a lot more power compared to a 4 stroke with the same displacement. A 250 2 strokes should compared to a 450 4 strokes, rather then a 250 4 strokes which is more in the 125 2 strokes range.

Yes, per cc they can make more. The problem is that the power spread is too thin and too abrupt. A 4-stroke will make a little less power(except for the 450's) but the power is spread wide over several thousand RPM instead of a couple. Tables are turning, I like both engine types, but Im afraid the 2-strk will be extinct soon, unless they develop direct-injection.

the honda crf250r's are nice they are a very dominate bike...and trust me you will show up the guys once you get good on it...you have to ride the 250 2 strokes and 4 strokes way different in my view go 4 stroke they are nice bikes
