  • I thought they ate too much

  • I love this show dearly.. I wish they still had kids shows like this... Just adorable!!!

  • @megalili1999 they had molly dolls?? Where? I still love this show

  • It's all coming back to me now... This show must be where my fear of clowns stems from....

  • loved this show and still like it but I gotta be honest I tried really hard but I couldn't watch this for over 2 minutes lol

  • I never knew they had a Molly doll.... I would've made my parents get it for me

  • I Always Wanted a Molly Doll Wen I was A Kid. There Was Like An Aisle Full Of Em!! But It Was 20 Dollars So Of Course My Parents didnt Wanna Pay Fer It. :(

  • it was mine and my older sister fav show of all time <3

i want my cosin to watch NORMAL (kinda) shows, like this! not the junk they have today...

but, he dont speek english. we are not amrican. so i'll have to wait till he'll know english.

and i mean, i still watch it when i get bored or staff...

i miss the days that they aired it wile i was at kindergarten and my mom recorded it for me to watch when i get home.

  • omigosh i can't believe i forgot about this show :O lol my mom mentioned it and i completely blanked.....they'd even bought my the dust bunnies lol

  • My niece used to Watching dis when she was smaller

  • Heave and stiff 8===-

  • who are you

  • It's hard to believe that she was actually 17 or 18 in this episode.

  • ATTENTION GUYS!!!!!! At the beginning of the Clock rug stretch, you can hear outside noises from the studio, I think when Loonette was practicing her clock rug stretch for it to be on air for the show she was listening to the music, the editors of the show didn't really mute the outside sound that shouldn't be allowed on the show.

  • I wanna feel "heavy" whenever I go to the doctor

  • shes probably looking back to this and saying " wat did i do"

  • My big sister and I used to have dolls to this show. I love this show.

  • I think it's spelled Lunette...

  • wouldn't it be funny if loonette had a mr. bucket! cause of the big red nose?

  • I miss this show so much!!

  • Awwe I used to love this show!!

  • Child shows like these back in the day were so simple but real. Her and Molly playing on the big magical couch that made various things appear, the dust bunnnies and clock stretch. Kid shows these days lack this uniqueness... this life, and she is so trippy rofl

  • as a kid, i member watchin this....but now that im older....i start to think.....the ppl that do these kinda shows.....must do drugs or some kinda shit XD

  • @santosluvsapril lol or they just think that even kids need to see somthing good on tv back then they still had sense and the problem with this world is obviosly stated in the last portion of your comment

  • I used to love this show!! I would do the clock stretch! :D I drove my dad crazy with it hehehe and me and my friends would pretend my couch was the big comfy couch and we would just take all kinds of things out. Ah I miss this show.

  • @johnnylova21 Yes I agree but my memories are slightly different; back when there were rugs in my house, I had to do the clock rug stretch when Loonette was doing it on the screen when I watched this as a kid. I also had a bigger doll version of Molly that I had to have sitting next to me in the back seat of my dad's station wagon whenever we went on trips and I'd put her in the other seatbelt. Still have that doll but one shoe got ripped off and her clothes are missing. Oops! XD.

  • Season 1 episode 1

  • I know this is a kids show. But she is so beautiful. So full of energy and fun. I almost feel odd for being attracted to her. I don't even like clowns. But she's a lot of fun on this show.

  • This show brings back so many memories =) I grew up with this show and I don't care how old I am! I still <3 watching it considering I'm a kid at heart =)

  • lmao who has actually tried to do the clock rug stretch with loonette? and looked up and wave as well? lol i did :P

  • @stephutech so did i!

  • I remember this show back from when I was young, but none of the episodes all the way.

  • this was the bomb

not like the dumb shows they have now

  • @jonamania90 i agree

  • @jonamania90 For real! I lived for this and Arthur when I was younger. Hell, I still have my Molly and Loonette dolls!

  • I love that little trumpeting noise when the elephant pops up in Molly's thought bubble.

  • @RetroVideoFan

So do I...I was expecting it to be higher-pitched, though. (I still found it funny, though)

  • This the first show right?

  • yep, the very first episode of the Big Comfy Couch series

  • The Wall is Blue

  • How come they never show Clowntown in the Season 1 and the Season 2 episodes? Was it because the writers of the show haven't thought about that until Season 3, or maybe because those 2 seasons are classic seasons?

  • can somebody give me, please, the name of this show in spanish (latin america)

  • you know alyson took a bunch of retards to disney world

  • she did?

  • My kids really like the old shows. Where can I pick up copies of the first season containing this episode? I can't find them on eBay or Amazon. Thank you.

  • Use to seriously love this show when i was growing up

  • They never show Clowntown from the Season 1 episodes and the Season 2 episodes, but why they never show Clowntown in those 2 seasons?

  • 3:00

    Molly's very first thought bubble

  • it's pretty funny that the actress who played Loonette is now the voice actress for Claire Redfield

  • Season 1, Episode 1 (series premiere).

  • According to matthew3alex, the VHS version of this episode is called "Light as a Feather". That´s what he told me.

  • I checked some of the libraries around the country and that's what they have for the VHS title. Amazon doesn't have it..yet.

  • I haven´t seen the VHS cover or tape before yet. I wish that I have seen it.

  • man...im in love with her EVEN with the clown suite on haha

  • "You shouldn't go floating off into the air without telling me first." That's really hard to do if you're in a bubble, because bubbles usually don't stay still.

  • That's true, bubbles just float around.

  • At 2:24, Loonette: "Maybe it's because I'm laying on a...(moves the little pillow)...bowing ball!".

That's gotta hurt laying down on a bowling ball. That's uncomfortable and could hurt your back. And that hurts.

  • Ouch! Laying on a bowling ball on your head can hurt too.

  • Yeah, that's true as well. Ouch.

  • Or on your back...very uncomfortable, or even between your legs. Lying on a bowling ball--even a 6 lb. one--is not comfortable at all.

  • I have juggling scarves too like Loonette. I have a pink one, an orange one and a green one.

  • This episode aired on March 2, 1993.

  • Has this episode been released on VHS before or something but in a different title?

  • I don't think so. It's released in Spanish & I can't even understand a single thing they're saying.

  • Upload that same episode in Spanish. Spanish viewers would like to hear this.

  • Comment removed

  • Cool.

  • I have it, but it's in Spanish.

  • I remember this first episode.

  • And how appropriate..the first episode of the series features the first letter of the Alphabet..A.

  • And of course..A is also the letter of the very first word in the dictionary: Aardvark.

  • "Appropriate" starts with A.

  • And so does Alyson (Court, that is).

  • And apparently, so does Annie..and prior to the Loonette role, Alyson actually played Annie, in a stage production of "Annie".

  • This was the first episode of The Big Comfy Couch! It first aired in Canada on Monday March 1st 1993. Then it came to PBS in 1995.

  • I thought the show debuted in 1992.

  • In Canada AND PBS. Because the show first aired in Canada then it came to PBS a few years later.

  • 1:18, "It feels like (HONK) my nose!"

  • does anyone know what year the new lennett started?? the new lennett scares me, i like the old lennett!! LOL

  • 2006

  • @bubblebear83 filmed 2005

  • Well, the new Loonette (Ramona Gilmour-Darling) does NOT scare me, but I like both her and the original Loonette (Alyson Court).

  • Well, I like the "old" Loonette (Alyson Court) better.

  • And so do I.

  • Me three. I like the "old" Loonette too played by Alyson Court. She was also in the Sesame Street movie called Follow That Bird! when she was a child. She was so cute in the movie and she still is. LOLOLOL!

  • I also read she was in a stage production of Annie, and believe it or not, she played Annie!

  • Wow! I never knew that. Plus, I love that play!

  • Never hurts to see what Annie will do to get a reaction out of that evil Miss Flanagan.

  • Mm-hmm. And don't you mean Miss *Hannigan?

  • Oh, sorry. It's been a long time since I last saw "Annie", the 1982 movie, that is.

  • Oh, that's okay. I have this movie.

  • And I just found out something..Alyson was also in the Care Bears II movie (which I think I have on tape somewhere).

  • Yeah, that's right. I saw that movie a long time ago. When I was about 4 or 6 years old. She played a summer camper named Dawn.

  • yea they were high when they made this

  • wow...seriously, this tv station is dumb. They use the latest Intro for a classic and old episode of this show. Like Uncle Chester isnt even in this one, and Auntie M is. And as well They had a first Intro without Auntie M.

  • I know, right? It's sooo ridiculous that they used a latest intro for a '93 episode, this intro is post-2000

  • The first intro HAD Auntie M in it..check out chunky37's video of that intro (this intro uses the sequence from Season 6, but the audio is from Seasons 1-5).

  • actually, there are 3 versions to this show with Alyson Court; the very first Intro did not have Auntie M in it and did not add the cat. While the second intro had Auntie M with the cat, which made kept the intro from Season 3-5. =) They don't show the first intro in some tv stations.

  • So you're saying that chunky37's intro video is the second version, correct?

  • Yes. =) There is a first Intro, without Auntie M, and the cat, and is used with Season 1 and 2. The intro is only used on stations such as Treehouse TV Toronto station in Canada. Intro is opened with Molly in her Yellow dress instead of blue, and Loonette reading the book without glasses.

  • Yep. The second version of the intro started on Season 3.

  • Hmm..well, whoever has the first intro ought to upload it so those who haven't seen it can see it for the first time.

Let's see..does that mean that the Time/Life videos that bubblebear83 recently uploaded..that's the second intro?

  • The other version was from Season 6 that has real buildings of Clowntown and it includes Uncle Chester. That's the last intro that has the "old" Loonette, but on the Season 7 intro, it almost looks like the Season 6 intro, but it includes the "new" Loonette.

  • I know that..all I'm asking is: The intro from the Time/Life videos that bubblebear83 recently uploaded..that's the second intro?

  • thanks alot !

  • I remember something that I feel very heavy. Back in 5th or 6th grade, we were lying on the floor doing some exercise as we listen to the cassette tape "Deep Relaxation".

  • The very first episode of the series.

    Indeed.

  • But do you remember which episode was the last one of the series?

  • I think it was Phony Baloney..something like that.

  • The last episode was Just "Purrrrrrrrr"-fect.

  • I'm sure it's Phony Baloney..try searching for the Episode Guides on the American Public Television website..that's where I got the info.

  • Since Season 1 of "The Big Comfy Couch" is a classic season, Snicklefritz never appeared in any of those episodes.

  • So you're saying he started appearing in Season 2?

  • Yep.

  • True. Snicklefriitz is cute
