  • @clockdud556 you can also try ebay

  • @clockdud556 you could try to find it used.. thats what im going to do... XD.. Awesome game

  • just buy it used!

  • would u choose this over ssbb?

  • @zhzhzh5 No. While SMG2 is a fantastic game, SSBB has the best replay value ever. You will always go back to it, years down the road. I know I do :)

  • @clockdud556 50 bucks isnt cheap enough 4 you? O_o

  • @clockdud556 it's a first party nintendo game, the price will ever go down, even galaxy 1 is still $50

  • @clockdud556 True :\

  • @clockdud556 You can't pay 60?

  • GREAT REVIEW!

and the song at the intro is epic Final fantasy X ftw

  • comets are not in each galaxy

  • @gamefreak256able Yes. In this one, comets are in EVERY galaxy, even the Bowser Jr., Bowser and those (at first) one-star galaxies.

  • Comment removed

  • @gamefreak256able Yes it does have a comet. There's a Comet Medal in every galaxies, and since you need the Medals for a comet, then there's a comet.

Are you sure you played through the whole game? There are 242 stars in the whole game.

  • @Valo778 each galaxy does have a comet MEDAL but it dosent mean it has a comet, And yes i actually got all 242 stars of the game so i should know. just because a galaxy has a comet medal dosent mean it will have a comet. have you ever played this game or something?

  • @gamefreak256able Yes, I have played the game, but let me speak no more. Just put this: /watch?v=gIpYfeRvXPk at the end of "youtube.com"

  • @gamefreak256able I got a comet medal in boulder bowl. It's in that big pink crystal. You need the rock suit to break the crystal

  • pretty good review, he was verry specific

  • @clockdud556 not to ruin your day but the price will not go down untill super mario galaxy 3 or another 3d mario

  • @clockdud556 good luck waiting for that

  • how did this game feel like a prequel to the first one too you?

    btw, great review

  • The two games believe it or not are very different. They both have different content in them. 99.8 of this game is new. The classic elements from SMG1 are basically the .8 in that 99.8% . Gravity, Sling and Launch Stars, Pull Stars, Black Holes, etc. Everything else is new.

  • @jmario232 ".8 in that 99.8%"

    Math fail.

  • @AZaqZaqProduction

    Whoops

  • do I need to play smg1 to know the story?

  • It is not required.

  • @PinoyZo1 It's best if you do, because the nostalgia will make you die of happiness. However, it's not necessary.

  • @PinoyZo1 You know that a mario story will never change

  • @PinoyZo1 No, but still, I recommend you to play it. It's one of the best games ever made! :D

  • i cantstop playing this game!!

  • Bought It. Beat it Replaying to Gotta get all 242 stars What about you? and also...Best Wii game Ever.... but i wish it didn't forget what hapened in galaxy 1 i wish i could see Mario's reaction to seeing Rosalina again...

  • I wanted to post a comment on your vid asking if you're dutch as well (ik dus ook), but I already found out by jippiedoe's comment.

Anyway, awesome review. I'm getting this in the mail tomorrow and I can't wait to play it!

  • Should i buy super mario galaxy 1 or 2...

  • @Anytime99 both

  • nice review i was holding off on this game but you made my decision IM BUYING IT

  • Best recommendation I can give! You will enjoy it!

  • p.s-theres 242 stars in galaxy 2 once you get 240 give the bank toad 9999 star bits and you'll unlock some goodies aka new stars

  • Yea, indeed, I got all the 242 stars now. Really great bonus content and Grandmaster Galaxy was hardcore.

  • same here with the spring suit i didnt like it but i think it just has a learning curve

  • Yea, once you get the timing down, very easy.

  • FINALLY! a pro at reviews, all the other people who review this game don't know what they are talkin about.

  • Thanks! Although the other reviews dont differ that much from my review.

  • Well, neither was supposed to be related. They were more like the zelda games, same characters, same place, different events.

  • Ah I see, I was hoping for some sort of continuation of SMG1, but as I mentioned Mario and story doesn't matter.

  • @Aerodynamisch Yes, but it would be hard to make a continuation on a finished plot. So they just went with the basic, bowser has a new plan, peach is taken, mario beats the living shit out of bowser.

  • I wonder what the next 3-d mario game may be like? I've always wanted to see a mario game where mario can travel through time past, present, future

  • @ganonslayer786 so basically what you want is a Sonic CD Ripoff

  • @bardhi09 I've never played sonic cd but I've heard about it years ago. I don't remember hearing anything about the story or plot.

  • @ganonslayer786 it involves time traveling each Zone has Present,Past,Bad Future(when you dont do anything and just travel there) and Good Future(if you go to the past and destroy some machines then going twice in the future as in Past then Present then Future and you access the good future,or when you collect all of the time stones its the same result)

  • FEATURE!!!!!!!!!!

  • I see, I wonder how this happened, really awesome to see because I think my SMG2 review is one of the best reviews I did.

  • I liked the review :)

But I have to say, you have a few annoying flaws in your pronounciation and your grammar, which are: a v is spokenlike v, not like f

Second one: You don't say "more easier", you just say easier ;)

But besides that: Keep it up

  • Thanks! I am from The Netherlands so that is the reason for my flaws, especially v and f.

So yea, my apologies for that...

  • @Aerodynamisch You forgot to mention the boo suit.

  • Ah indeed, I forgot that. But to be honest it is only in the game for two levels.

  • @Aerodynamisch Ik ben ook uit Nederland, but I can speak way better english then that and i'm only 14...

  • Then by all means, use that to your advantage. It is a gift to speak multiple languages fluently.

  • @Aerodynamisch yes, my mother is hungarian, and I always go there in the summer and christmas vakation, and I am on tweetalig VWO, dus ik heb de helft van mijn lessen in het engels. vandaar dat ik dat zo goed kan :P.

  • Nice review. But I thought that the reduction of the HUB area(conservatories) seemed a bit of a step back. I always found it fun to wonder around in it, collecting 1-ups and flying around using fly-mario in SMG1. But I've heard the mario shaped HUB area is similar, just no conservatories? Nonetheless, looks amazing in several aspects, what caught my eye was the level where Mario is somewhat sliding through a half-pipe, with his arms thrust behind him? It really reminds me of some Sonic stages.

  • Thanks! It is a step back indeed, but personally this way you can progress a lot quicker through the game. The Marioship is still fun to explore and you can still get 1-ups, but it isnt as big as the observatory.

The half-pipe level was a lot of fun and that is how a 3D sonic game should have been in my opinion....

  • @Aerodynamisch Yeah, that would've been sweet.

  • I thought the final boss in SMG1 was pretty lackluster. You fought Bowser twice before, and then the last fight is basically the same thing, but longer. As for the story... meh. I don't care, I don't play Mario for story! Good review though, I want the game even more though.

  • Thanks!

I just found the usage of the planets to defeat bowser a bit more interesting than what you get in SMG2. But yea, no real end boss of Mario has always been epic. Maybe SMW.

And yea, story isn't a big issue....

  • story no one cares about the story in a mario and the final boss is ausome

  • True, but I felt SMG1 attempted at a continuous story.

I was expecting more of the final boss IMO.

  • lol this review compard to the critics review is harsher lol

  • Yea, no game is perfect and these were some minor nitpicks I had with the game. If I look at the bigger picture this is one of the best games ever made even though it is still a sequel, so not too revolutionary. But yea, one of the best in my opinion.

But there were some little nitpicks...which I wanted to mention. But I dont do ratings, I always struggle with that.

  • Super Mario galaxy is now the highest rated game of all time, beating ocarina of time. Proof that nintendo is, and will always be, the king.

  • Yea I heard, that is great to hear but at the same time pretty strange. This game is a sequel, with besides the new gameplay changes and some balancing in variety, not the most unique sequel. I know SMG1 is also very high rated.

I am not sure, I think in 10 years from now people would recommend maybe SMG1 first...still very great games and I wont dispute that SMG2 is amongst the best games ever created.

(I will do that with GTA IV.....great game but more a 90 instead of 96/97.)

  • Does ice flower not return? if not that would be a shame I really enjoyed the puzzles surrounding ice flower in the original galaxy.

  • Ice flower does not return sadly...

  • @Aerodynamisch Thanks for the quick reply, that is very sad :(

  • what's the name of the song at the beginning, I think it's out of FF10..,..

  • Yea, it is Besaid Island Theme from FFX.

  • @Aerodynamisch Thanks =)

  • fantastic review man!

  • Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Excellent Review!

This series of games is one of the reasons I wish I hadn't sold my Wii :-(

    Really brilliantly constructed review!

  • Thanks! Yea the Wii doesnt have a lot of great games, but those few masterpieces are a sure bet. I hardly sell games/consoles, at least I never had to so far, pretty lucky I guess...

But yea, really too bad you are unable to play it...

And yea, I try to use some sort of guideline I see in the professional reviews as well, story, gameplay, presentation. I added in my dislikes and wrap it up. That is the basic outline for every review I do...

  • @Aerodynamisch Yeah you're lucky not having to sell any of your consoles. I'm currently in the process of selling my Mega Drive and PS1, as I just don't have time to play them! It's a shame, but I do own a PS2 so i can play PS1 games on that! And I have the Mega Drive Collection for 360 to play some games on. I guess I'll just have to use an emulator if I really want to play a MD game!

It's a shame i have to sell some gaming things, but right now I'm concentrating on the newer titles :-)

  • lol u fell for the trick

the developers put a trail of coins at 1:47 so you get distracted and not get the bonus star

    lol

  • Indeed! Of course after I finished the level I went back to check that pit and found the secret star.

    124 stars now...

  • u seei told u mario is a bad ass character. more bad ass then sonic

  • Indeed I remember, he is pretty bad-ass even though he is just a plumber...

  • @Aerodynamisch lol i hope that new 2d sonic game is good. i never got into the 3d sonic game

  • Great, great review. I have to agree with everything you said - especially the comment about hardly any story. I found it kind of shocking when this game was announced that Miyamoto said they weren't focusing on story. But, Mario games don't need to have elaborate stories, even though they do add to the fun of the game. Skipped around a bit on the video as I did not want to hear about all of the power-ups as well as the award for achieving 120 stars. ;-)

  • Yea, no problem, I figured not everyone wanted to hear those spoilers....

Still too bad about the story, but of course there is the Paper Mario series which had a bit more story/dialogue.

  • Nice, very detailed and in depth review. I recently got my wii back, and once i'm done playing through some of the whole back catalogue that i missed i'll probably pick this one up. Those individual level playthrough videos were interesting to, especially the speed run kind of stuff, i always really enjoy watching speed runs or superplays even of games that i don't play myself.

  • Thanks!

Yea, just wanted to show a couple of levels that i thought were interesting. Didn't think I was so quick to finish the game and have a full blown review 24 hours later. Guess it was SMG2 weekend.

Yea, be sure to check it out at some point. Wii has got a lot of great games, I still have a lot to finish...

  • Dragging of a bit but I pretty much agreed, nice review!

Why is the video not standard youtube size?

  • Thanks! Tried to go every aspect that was added/changed....but yea bit too long...

It must be because I am not very good at editing videos, so the format got cropped...

  • great review

  • Thanks!

  • are you able to turn off the music but leave the game's sounds?

    anyways, decent review

  • No, that is not possible... I should have said, I tend to listen to my own music when playing games. Some of them though. And SMG2 is definitely not the game to do that. You gotta listen to the great SMG2 music....

  • Nice review my friend...

  • Thanks!
