About 95% of the US is scientificly illiterate , religious illiteracy is about 80% . Most Christians cant name the authors of the four gospels or list the 10 commandments . Its scary if you think of the glaring omission of the commandments that are left out . God should not have omitted the obvious evils. Tremendous suffering of millions could have been avoided . 6. Do not Murder: Just in the US 100,000 people were murdered in the last 6 years, 46 people a day on average. Columbia has more 78 a day. World Wide 541 per day an average of every 23 seconds. 10% out of 1,000 get murdered. That is 600 Million out of 6 Billion. This is very telling and insightful, and I think Jacobins3000's theory below has merit. America has a sort of naive and Biblically illiterate pop culture form of Christianity. I think if they really knew what was in the Bible, most rational people would reject a theistic world view. I would add though, that Christianity has not really faced much rational opposition. It has been taboo to criticize religion--especially Christianity.

Actually no JAIDesoto, evolution is change in allele frequencies in populations and relies on some form of inheritance and therefore can't start before it, so your claim that it depends on "nothing creating something" is nonsense.

In Judaism, they do not believe in homosexuality. But rather an act that G_d condemns, just like fornication & adultery. Any and all sex outside of marriage is sin. The translation of the bible into the popular languages of Europe in the 16th century was the beginning of the end of Christianity. Where does it say that the 10 Commandments were given to ALL MANKIND? Exodus 19:5,6 says that the true God YHWH made a covenant with the Jews ONLY, whereby if they obeyed God's commandments that He was about to give them, they would become God's special property out of all other peoples. In Chapter 20, God gave them the 10 Commandments + the rest of the Mosaic Law.
