Great tonality! I love the slow-drag pace. It is true to the "spiritual mood" of the song and Thomas Dorsey. He wrote this right after he lost his wife and child in a car accident!
Wow, what can i say? I always thought this was one of the baddest if not THE baddest hbcu choirs in the country. Balance, tone, emotion, sound supporting the solo, everything was just on point. I've never heard that song sound like that. If they still sound like that, i'm going to transfer. I've always wanted to sing in that choir.
Ok so Thomas everything I need to you sing k! Because I watched this like 10x's it gave me super chills hairs standing seriously!

Who is the arranger of this beautiful piece of music?
owluck 3 years ago
None other than Dr. Nathan Mitchell Carter.
The gentleman singing is the incomparable
GEORGE THOMAS ALLEN, who also wore it out
this afternoon at the ceremony for
OBAMA's train ride into Washington, D.C.
