It really looks like Christine Daaé's dress (which was a replica of one of Sissi's dresses, if I'm not mistaken?) but this video immediately reminded me of the Sound of Music ("Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes..." :))

Ich hatte mir ursprünglich ein Korsett für drunter gebastelt, aber in dem Video hatte ich keins drunter, sonst hätte das Kleid geschlackert wie sonst was... außerdem war Hochsommer da wär noch was drunter echt zu viel gewesen^^

Dresses like that really aren't too difficult in design, the problematic part are all the sparkling stones, tulle-ruffles etc... takes forever and is quite expensive.

I once had to ride the school bus wearing a full length skirt and crinoline while carrying a french horn- that was interesting, although the crinoline was not quite so big as that one... I was only 13 at the time- how much fabric can a 4'9" 13 year old girl wear anyway?

@SnappyRiver I drove myself to my local fabric store, dressed in an empire line style dress, to show someone there what I had made with the fabric I purchased from them. I had on an A-Line petticoat. I can't imagine driving if I'd had on a hoop skirt! I came to the conclusion, that the automobile industry changed women's fashions!

Najaaa,also historisch koreckt wär das jedenfalls nicht^^ Da setzt man sich einfach hinten draufa ber niemals hochheben..denn hey..da siehst du ka von hinten die Unterhose eventuell. Wäre also historisch keinesfalls koreckt abet hauptsache du kannst sitzen^^

Do you ever wear it for occasions? Like a party? If so, Is it easy to dance with? Slow dancing I mean. Like, if someone is close to you does it push back wards because their legs are close? Or does it kind of give way. When you spin around, does it float out? Sorry for all the questions. :)

@cdurgin321 I never quite finished this dres... there is no bottom hem for example and the pattern never got completed from money- and patience-issues, so I usually don't wear it out. Dancing would technically work, and if someone is close it's pushed back because the steelwire I used was quite thick, it also doesn't quite float out for the same reason. I could exchange the crinoline with a lighter one or a number of petticoats though, that would have the effect and be easier to wear.

@cdurgin321 It's made out of popelin (cotton I think) and the skirt has an extra-layer of tulle over it. It's a very light, comfortable material and not too heavy on the crinoline.

@cdurgin321 Really shiny satin always has the side-effect of looking quite 'cheap' if you make a whole dress out of it... not the most flattering fabric you could find, but I guess that depends on the individual taste, some really seem to like it^^

In the dress itself not so much... but the size of the room is somewhat an obstacle. Same goes for doors etc. And sitting on a chair is pretty much out of the question, just like putting on your shoes by yourself^^
