[as Chewie tries to fight off the imperials and free Han]
Han Solo: No! Stop, Chewie, stop! Chewie! Chewie this won't help me! Hey! Save your strength. There'll be another time. The Princess. You have to take care of her. You hear me? Huh?
@ChairmanDrek757 There is some micro history behind that line. It was originally "I love you" "I love you too" but after a few takes George felt that something was missing so he changed it. Good idea on his part.
This soundtrack was awesome, the doom and gloom that seemed to stalk the whole film was just captured perfectly as always by John Williams, he was definitely god as far as movie scores went.
My favourite bit was from 4:53 to 5:35 as Luke wandered along the corridors cautiously with R2 in tow the danger and unease was caught perfectly in drawing out and slowing down the main theme.
Hearing this music and watching this film again, I still think Empire is the best one of the entire Star Wars Saga. Good acting, great story, and just flatout better directed out of all the films.
This music shows how great John Williams is as what he does, especially the part from 4:34 to 4:41. He combines both Boba Fett's and Darth Vader's themes at the same time.
God! at 3:41 i can just hear the THUD of the carbonite hitting the floor! that always gave me chills when i was little. Especially Leia's face when she see's Han frozen. ugh creepy
That bit of dialogue wasn't actually written; well, at least Han's reply wasn't. The original line was "I love you too", but both Harrison Ford and Irvin Kershner felt it didn't sound like something Han Solo would say. So, after countless takes, Kershner told Ford to say the first thing that popped into his head. They started the scene and when it got to that part, that's when he ad-libbed "I know."
Watching Episode 5 then 6 right after it wants to make me cry (Not that I do) Because Vader is so evil and ruthless in 5 and then at the end of six it's so sad,lol
You know, I put up a Crash Bandicoot Star Wars story on Fan Fiction. I'm currently on Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. In my second installment, The Empire Strikes Out, I had Boba Fett portrayed by Nina Cortex since both of them are ruthless and cunning.
Boba Fett is probably the only bounty hunter who actually has the nerve to demand compensation from Darth Vader for possible damages to his "acquisition".
@RinluJedi I wonder if one of the reasons the Emperor trained Mara Jade was because he suspected that Vader might be trying to turn Fett into an apprentice?
@xMechTechx It would've been interesting to see what would've happened if Vader found out about Jade and sent Fett after her. Would he have wound up like his father or would Fett at least have given Jade trouble?
the part i remember most from my earliest memories of seeing this, and i'v seen this ALOT mind you, is Luke trying to rescue his friends. it's really touching; he's so motivated, so driven that it almost gets him killed.and when Vader revieled there leniancy, i thought for sure Lukes will would be crushed and he would join Vader...if only to save his friends.
but then Luke earned his place as one of my childhood heros: he refused the easy way out, to be evil... such a stong pure heart!
I agree he really is already strong even though he hasn't completed the training. He stays cool through the whole fight with Vader. Not until he tells him he is his father does he get dramatized but only for a minute. He then quickly gets a plan and acts on it. It wasn't the best plan but he didn't have many options lol. Although I am sure Vader could beat him if he wanted (that wasnt his plan) he was taken by surprised and as he said, impressive, most impressive.
Well, I didn't mean look. I love the way he says "Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold." and the music adds to that. I should have said He sounded so serious.
see. malak was ruthless and would've destroyed the entire galaxy by the time he came to full power. revan was a a good tactician and combatant but lacked the political skills that palpatine wielded. now, i will say palpatine could hold his own in a fight. he also did destroy planets but only because he became power hungry and afraid. and his downside was that he was a coward using vader as his combatant and handyman but he was still very powerful indeed.
guardian, your wrong, malak just destroyed everything or anyone in his way. but he only destroyed taris because bastila posed a threat to him. While when he found out about revan he tried to send all of the best to destroy him until he had to fight him himself. Malak just used brutal force while revan was a military strategist with using his powers to corrupt jedi to his cause so he could have an army when he traveled to destroy the true sith not the belief. So Revan used corruption.
You might need to elaborate more. Palpatine represents the political cycle that we've seen happen dozens of times in the last few hundreds of years. He also represents giving leaders power because of the false promise of security.
