@cleancutt2001 Actually before you call other ppl names, know your shit. Moss is second in receiving tds to rice. And more overall tds than owens. How do you feel now tough guy? And most analysts and everyone who knows something about football agree that moss in his prime was better than rice, noone could cover moss 1 on 1 in his prime, nooone.
@soma27 who's everyone? your uncle thats sitting on the couch with a bag of doritos and a 6 pack of miller lite? look i understand your not old enough to have seen jerry rice play in his prime the safties and defensive backs were alot better jerry rice had to beat guys like ronnie lott, dion sanders, darrell green, steve atwater man i could go on naming hall of famers ! its pointless cuz you dont know what your talking about rice could do it all against better competition and for 20 seasons!
@cleancutt2001 I take offense to that. Cooler ranch doritos and miller light? Is there really something wrong with that? Sounds like a good day to me. People created own d's to stop moss, he changed the game more than any other receiver. And he faced charles woodson, and al harris, and asomougha, and when he went up against d-hall in his prime he was considered great, champ bailey, all of these guys have either said straight out or hinted theyve never seen a receiver like moss and he is the best.
@cleancutt2001 Really theyre 1 and 2 however you put them. There are just so many factors too. Noone is dumb enough to deny that rice was put into a ridiculously better situation. Theres arguments both ways but lets look at 1 thing, in college moss destroyed rices records, he had better numbers as a freshman than rice as a senior. When the playing field is more even, ie qbs and overall teams, noone can match up with moss
@iupstud Brady actually isnt the best QB..I am a HUGE pats fan and always will be..I do like brady but if I could choose him or Peyton i would say "GET YUR ASS OVER HERE MANNIN"
just ur preference and I respect that...But when its all said and done people will judge em on the RINGS and the Playoff record and there my friend is no comparison...
shouldnt, even coming from a pats fan...Brady wasnt a starter until 2001, he was a 2nd string for the whole time he was with patriots, but when their starter got injured (forgot his name) Brady stepped in and took them to the superbowl
First of Manning allways had all star Reciever his whole career except 09 and second of The year Pats got "Caught" cheating they went ALL the way undefeated except one fluke catch by the Giants reciever...and haven't been all too shabby after that either...
Anywyas, lets not get into an argument...for me Wonder boy tommy is the best after Montana...if someone thinks otherwise I respect em too..peace out!@
Chicken and egg w/ Manning, bcoz he's proven he can do it with any receiver, could be he's the one that made his receivers stars. Brady hasn't prove that he can do it w/o Moss. Moss had done it w/o Brady aka Minny. The 2007 season first game the Patsy got caught, so the 2007 is good. But anything before 2007's tainted, including the superbowls. So in my opinion, even if you want to argue w/ Brady's 3 SB rings, that shouldn't count, because it's tainted. IMO there's no doubt Manning > Brady.
LOl tht comment made me laugh...anyone with football knowldge will tell you that what you call cheating aint cheating but hey thats how it works...unless Brady wins another one - WHICH I may add he alsmost did undefeated - naysayers will keep up...
Yea sure, it's never cheating when it's your team isn't it? ::rolleyes:: Football knowledge my backside...it is what it is, CHEATER.
Brady didn't win another one now did he? And that team wasn't going undefeated w/out Moss that year. Moss made that 2007 team, Brady has nothing to do w/ it other than being a good QB. Put Manning or Brees in at QB and they probably do the same if not better.
moss is WAY more athletic and prob has better hands than rice but rice tried harder and had more heart for the game.. no offense to randy.. from a pats fan
moss was great but he could have been greater probably the greatest is it weren't for his lack of efforts wit the raiders & late wit minnesota...ur just not gonna see moss pull these moves...rice was by far a way better receiver next was moss..
in my opinion randy moss is the second best reciever to ever play the game. jerry rice's numbers cant be denied but its hard to compare because he had two hall of fame quarterbacks throwing to him throughout his career.
@maveni4554 I agree, even though now Randy Moss has had Tom Brady and was briefly with Brett Favre, I checked Randy Moss' numbers about a year or two ago and if he plays as long as Jerry Rice then he could break his records. Most likely won't happen, but it is Randy Moss...
@maveni4554 Too bad randy is done.. "I play when i wanna play" i dont think it's his age he just doesnt seem to want to play after he left the pats... we both know he was more talented than jerry, but he definitely doesnt try as hard as rice
@maveni4554 lol wtf r u talking about ? randy is the best of all time, his rookie year should be enough proof. i dont think donovan culpepper or however you spell his name is a hll of fame quarter back.
@maveni4554 never seen someone nail it so well my friend. talent-wise i think he was the best ever. only played for one worthwhile quarterback in his career, and in that year broke Rice's record (although it was obviously in more games since Rice's season was cut short by lockout). The two best undoubtedly.
Say what you will, but how many receivers have 3 or more seasons with 17+ TD's. I'll save you the time: none. Randana Santana Bandana Moss is the best of all time. Not Rice, Irvin, Tim Brown, Art Monk, Marvin Harrison, Jimmy Smith (he owned the 90s), James Lofton, Andre Reed, Paul Warfield, Lance Alworth, Don Meridith, Chris/ Anthony Carter, NOBODY...
Ouch?...you poor bastard; growing up not being taught that spreading uninformed opinions without any knowledge on the topic you're commenting on is truly intillectual suicide.
Plus you're just a fucking retard who's never seen a down of football, above all else.
wow santanna is your #1? wow that is insulting to all the guys you just listed,, specially since you cant spell CRIS CARTER RIGHT. ha cris, had he been on a stable team, or a dominating team like RICE, i think his numbers would be better
Jerry had 22 td in a 14 game season we have 16 game seasons now so jerry rice is 10 times better than moss. Jerry Rice has 3rings been to 4 superbowls
ok so what your saying is, every wide receiver who has a ring is better than randy?? even the 3rd strings and 4th strings who sit on the bench every game? im talking about skill fool not stats or anything even though randy does have 23td now... you are a rice fan.
so if I dont like Jerry Rice I should learn to play football? yeaaaaah... I wasnt even around while Jerry Rice was getting all of his superbowl rings so I cant say im a huge fan but I have done enough research to know that Jerry Rice was stastically and physically better than Randy Moss.. SO maybe its you, who needs to learn to play football if you cant tell the physical differance.
Physically Moss is a much more dominate threat then Jerry Rice. Jerry Rice was great but played his entire career with HoF level QBs(and Hasselbeck / Rich Gannon for a few years, but they aren't to shabby either...) Moss has had 1,000 yards receiving with 6 different QBs including Cunningham(was out of the league the year before...) Jeff George, Culpepper, Brady, Cassel, and Kerry Collins... Moss has also caught passes from Brad JOhnson and Gus Frerotte(dominated in 3 starts with vikes)
yea he played with 2 HoF QBs, and HoF QBs can spread the ball alot better than your average qb so i doesn't make much difference, he caught everything that was thrown to him, and being a couple inches shorter than moss, that is much harder to do. That being said, Randy Moss is definitely one of the best WRs ever. he is faster in the 40 than jerry, but so is Darrius Heyward. Jerry was a complete receiver with the greatest work ethic, and until Moss breaks the all time record, Rice is still King
Well... Moss first season with a HoF calibur QB and he got 23 TDs. No chemistry built during preseason or anything. I've gotta say that warrents some attention.
yea but he didn't even lead all wide receivers in yards and it came with brady's nfl record 50 passing tds... it wasn't even his best season in receptions or yards... i'm not saying moss isn't a freak of nature or nething.. but saying rice's HoF qbs are what made him look great is ridiculous... i could say that randy moss has such a successful start in the nfl cuz he had Cris Carter on the other side taking away some attention from defenses... but i won't he is great
There are many things to consider when rating receivers... everybody plays on different teams with different QBs... but to use Tom Brady's 50 TDs as an example??? Uhm... 23 of those TDs were Moss.
Tom Brady is a future HoF'er but Randall Cunningham won't make it.
Never the less, his first year with Brady, Moss had statistically one of (if not) the best season of any WR in the history of the NFL, as did his QB...half of Brady's TD's were accounted for by Moss and just over a 1/3 of hi passing yards to Randy as well.
You can use the same argument that Moss also made Tomym brady THAT much better.
yea moss accounted for just under half of brady's 50 td passes... on the other hand jerry rice's 22 tds accounted for 71 percent of joe montana's tds that year and that was in 12 games cuz of the strike... randy moss is great and he can give you some impressive on handed catched but jerry rice was a more clutch receiver and if you had one last drive to win the game and rice was on your team, you knew he was gonna get it done
Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but your statistic argument is invalid.
Jerry Rice accounting for a higher percentage of Montana's TD's on a 12 game season means nothing. If Randy Moss and Brady had only collected statistics in 12 games the percentage would be well over 71 percent.
that's not true... after 12 games brady had 39tds to moss' 16.. which means that's 41percent... what i'm trying to say is that during the 87 season in san fran rice was clearly the mvp of that offense... while during the 07 season tom brady was clearly the mvp of his offense... i mean randy moss is great no doubt about that but i just don't think he's the greatest... he isn't enough clutch of a wr as jerry was to be called the greatest
randy moss is the best wide reciever ever to play jus like jerry rice the only reason jerry rice is 1st cuz of sb rings but look who randy played for hes only played wit a good qb for a year cuz brady got hurt his 2nd year da pats
maybe it was brady maybe it was the play calling, but those last 4 throws were desperate, no need to panic bein down by 3 with what was it a minute and a half?? (correct me if time was less) brady couldnt hit moss in triple coverage, shoulda checked down. so it wasnt really randy's fault
hold up rudye59 if randy dont got som1 to throw him da ball or he is tripled covered how da hell u supposed to do sumtn nigga dats da qbs fault for not thrown to wes welker or sumbody and plus rudye u probally da sorriest football player on topic rite now
i agree Deion Sanders is the greatest COVER corner ever and i routinely saw rice torch him for 150 yard plus games. Deion even said he had no answer for rice that's why he went to join him in san fran.
Randy Moss is obviously the best WR ever to play in the NFL. Jerry was good but he is not as good as Randy. Saying Jerry is better than Randy is like saying Kobe Bryant is better than Michael Jordan.
And thats just simply being an ignorant person, or youre a Kobe fan.
Just like jordan is obviously the best ever... so is Rice.. Moss may be the most talented WR ever... but to be the best, you need rings.. Just like Jordan.. Jerry's got em ... Randy does not.
well, randy is one man, he can't get the rings by himself. the rest of the team needed to be on their A game, but that doesn't single him out because of being in the top 3 in my opinion
noo i dont agree wit u guys u can talk w e u want but R.Moss is best wr ever...am sure hes gonna brake J.Rice record too...wait until next year with T.Brady ,Moss is gonna get again around 20 td in season am sure...
Why because I don't know the exact stats that you probably spent so long looking up? Moss is an amazing talent no doubt about it but why don't you just shut up already and just wait and see if Moss catches Rice. Both will go down as 1 and 2 and in my OPINION as great of a talent Moss is, he won't catch Rice even if your little stats you keep looking up show he's on pace to do so.
Rice played 21 years... Moss has played 10 years.. In that stretch, including Rice having 3 superbowl rings and etc, Rice was on a better team buddy. Moss had 2 QB's that weren't even good.
1. Culpepper.. no.. Culpepper sucked after not having moss
2. Cunningham, never your throwing QB and Moss gave him 34 passing tds that year.
So, just the stfu. You know nothing, Moss never had a team like the 86 49ers or the 90 49ers. Moss has played with fair QBs when Rice had montana and young.
Which might be part of the reason he doesn't believe that Moss will catch him. Who cares? It's an opinion, it's not like he's some TO fan going off about how Moss isn't as good as TO is!
Moss might catch him, but in my mind Moss is the greatest of all time.
It was my opinion too, he had to stomp on it and I proved why I feel Moss is better. His only useless comment was " You spent so long looking up stats, but I already had a 80 percent idea Moss was on pace to catch Moss "
Moss might never catch Rice, numbers are numbers and they're meaningless when someone played 20-22 vs a guy who has played 10-11 years.
Rice stat wise will go down as the greatest, but I guess Smith was better then Sanders?
I went off of him because he was a dick towards me.
sorry for everyone that had to read this, but I know my info on the NFL. Rice played for 21 years, of course he's going to have MORE numbers, he's the greatest no doubt. But there's no doubt in my mind Moss could/is on pace to either catch up to him or surpass him. I don't think he'll play 21 years, just like I don't feel Manning will play 18 years like Favre. Mannig is truly better, but I guess you only live on Stats.. I guess Smith was better then Sanders, because he had better stats...
he wasn't anything special. Moss, for a guy to have no QB.. for a guy to have a QB not start until FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL and had him go 400x2 yard games. Cassel sucks btw. For a guy to again hit 1,000 yards and will go over 10 touchdowns in his 11th seasons... I'm sorry, that's amazing.
Also, Moss is durable. He hasn't truly suffered an injury to make him lose a step. The man won't be like he was in 07 ever again, but to come back with no QB and is on pace for 13 tds and 1200 yards.. amazing.
Yea he did get injured back in the day vs. the Saints, came up limping after a catch and never was as good again for the season... 03 or 04.... Vikings fan here so I remember
So yeah, let me repeat this again, since you're a slow retard. Irvin, in 12 seasons couldn't touch what Jimmy Smith did in 10 seasons. Michael Irvin was considered one of the greatest, he played on one of the greatest NFL teams to ever play in the 90's. He had a all pro QB like Aikman, AIkman is WAY better then Brunell.
I know I keep bringing up others, but Rice was only elite before the 98 seasons. After that, he was average and was an player playing until 2005. He did very well in 2002, but..
Having only 200 receptions, 37 touchdowns 3,000 yards in a 7 year window is laughable. That's the same way I see it with Peyton Manning vs Brett Favre. Did you know, Peyton Manning has never throw until 3,600 yards, 26 touchdowns? Did you know, Manning isn't playing that well, the colts together aren't playing that good and he's on pace for 26 plus touchdowns and 4,000 yards passing...
But... Favre has in 92,93, 99,00,05 and 06. I'm not even going to bring up his 91 seasons since he was a rook
Now, what Rice was better at was having Balls and had heart (Team Player). Talent Wise, Moss wins. In Oakland, for 2 years, the Raiders only had 14 passing touchdowns in those 2 combined seasons. Collins sucks, he hasn't been really good since 00, he has been struggling with passing yards and Touchdowns, if he has a run game without relying on his arm, he's a good QB. But in Oakland, the Raiders were shit from 03,04,05,06,07 and now 08. That team was horrible.
Are you a dumb retard? Moss already broke his season single Touchdown record, Moss is the hottest young rookie EVER and the only WR rookie to catch 17 touchdowns and 1,000 yards his 1st season.
Also, Moss isn't even done with his 10th year and has 832 catches,13,000 yards and 132 Touchdowns.
Rice, had 16 years in SF and had 1281 catches and 19,247 yards and 176 Touchdowns.
Do the average. Rice in SF averaged 80 recs a year and 1202 yards per season and 11 Touchdowns per season..
He's to crush the stupid noob. Moss in 10 years averages 13 touchdowns per season, 83 catches per season and 1,300 yards per season.
Yeah, suck a dick you idiot. Irvin was never close to this and Moss is right there with Rice. Now, he's beyond rice in the 10 year stretch (including) Moss played in Oakland with Shit QB's and still out performed Rice in the 10 year gap.
Now, I love Rice, he's a great Football player. I feel he's the best, but Moss is chasing him down, if you like or not.
Well there no doubt Moss is chasing him and he will get close but dumbass he is not as durable as Rice. Who the fuck cares if he's on pace he still has to be in the NFL at least 6 more years and preform at this level. Which I guarantee he won't do. Moss is a great talent their is no doubt that's why he will go down as the SECOND best WR. in history.
Man, you fail so much. Did I ever say he'll surpass Rice? I just said " He's chasing down Rice on numbers, just like Manning is chasing down Favres Career stats. Moss is a better WR then Rice, Moss has more speed, better cuts and of course better hands.
Jerry Rice played 21 years, he is/will be the greatest ever. But, Moss right now is chasing him down, like it or not... he is. In their 1st 10 year gap, Moss beat him.
Jerry Rice sucked in 2003-2004 and 2005. In 1985, he was shit, 97 was hurt
That's 5 pathetic years out of 21 years, so basically 16 years chewed down, 1999 and 2000 he was meh, FAIR. So lets take 2 more years away from Jerry Rice = 14 years.
I'm gonna make another for Moss, give me a second. Sure, Rice played for a Raiders team, but he had Richard G. Throwing to him, they went to the superbowl and he had a good team.
Moss came in and still did okay in 05 and was bad in 06.
There's more to read noob. I love Rice, he's one of my all time favorite players, but Culpepper was an overrated QB. He proved he was overrated, Cunningham had his best throwing season in 98... I wonder why.. Moss made decent QB's look like Brady, Manning and Marino. Rice had, Gannon, Montana and Steve Young. He has been to 3 superbowls with them.
Rice had better Head Coaches, Walsh is easily one of the best ever. Hey Asshole, Moss is at 60 catchs, 800 yards and 8 Touchdowns... He's going to...
So yeah, I'm a dumbass for speaking the truth. Rice played more seasons, doesn't make him better. Jimmy Smith was better then Tim Brown, who is going into the Hall of Fame, but Brown had more years. Tim Brown had 17 years vs Smith 10 years and smith had 865 receptions, 12287 yards and 67 touchdowns.
Brown had 1094 receptions, 14,987 yards and 100 Touchdowns. Playing more years doesn't make you any better, it just makes your stats look better. Smith was close on everything but TD's in 7 less YR
Just heard that Randy is about to sign a $27 million 3 year deal with the Pats. Looks like the pats only need in the secondary to get back now to the big game
don't think moss will be re signed. don't think the pats were happy with moss, especially him not wanting to go over the middle. yea big plays are deadly but bill really likes a receivers to be gutsy and get in the open field. moss is about himself and still is about himself. they won years before moss was there. so why sign him when someone will take less money and produce when it counts like the playoffs.
not to be an asshole to you tuberciend but i thought id point out a few things:
-first of all if you noticed in the plaoffs he was double and triple covered much more often than he was in the regular season
-second i under stand that bill wants recievers to go over the middle, but its simply too risky in a case like moss, because he is not built for the job. he's too lenky and skinny to take the hit and we can't afford to get him injured. by the way....GO PATS!!!!!
-Bill likes his WR to cut to the middle of the field and draw in the saftey's to get the faster guys open on the outside's(welker, stallworth) so thats why he has nice big tight end's and some tough wide outs gaffny for example but like i said they kept moss outside used his speed and arm's to produced and it looked to me that it worked..........GO PATS!!!!!!
exactly lol he has got more talent than he knows what to do with and he is still quitin on plays, but he still gets the most tds in the league for wr's how does that work? lol
No way the press was gonna let him win. He had too much bad publicity that year and a lot talk about his scholarship being dropped from Notre Dame. matter fact he had better return numbers than C.Wood to the extend the current MCAA Award ffor best returner is named the Randy Moss Award.
The reason Brady has so many TD passes this year is because for the first time in his career, he has a receiver that he can trust. He doesn't even have to be open. If moss is there, he'll catch it.
FULLY AGREE gepetio. I see this after watching We Are Marshall and think what if they suspended the program, would Mss have still been on Marshall, or would he have gone to another school. Great Play though
being a colts fan i have to say i WANT colts to win but tbh i think the pats are gonna take it especially if they play the way they have bin playing so far. hopefully colts will win tho :P
Kind of cheap when he announced he was from Rand University on Monday Nite football. He is lucky Marshall took him when he was refused at others. Coach Bobby Pruitt sure gave him more chances that other coaches
Randy Moss and Chad Pennington need to return back to football and get on the same team...it just may be what they need to reach the Super Bowl.

Team wins Superbowl. Nothing to do with Brady or Manning. They're just part of it. Besides, the Pats from BB era until 2006 were caught cheating.
All that aside, without Moss, TB had 28 TDs at most. Manning can do it with any receiver.

IMO there's no doubt Manning > Brady.
janganguna 2 years ago

@maveni4554 I agree, even though now Randy Moss has had Tom Brady and was briefly with Brett Favre, I checked Randy Moss' numbers about a year or two ago and if he plays as long as Jerry Rice then he could break his records. Most likely won't happen, but it is Randy Moss...
Dophinillie 10 months ago
@maveni4554 Too bad randy is done.. "I play when i wanna play" i dont think it's his age he just doesnt seem to want to play after he left the pats... we both know he was more talented than jerry, but he definitely doesnt try as hard as rice

GetDatSteak 8 months ago
@maveni4554 lol wtf r u talking about ? randy is the best of all time, his rookie year should be enough proof. i dont think donovan culpepper or however you spell his name is a hll of fame quarter back.
TheMunchMaster 6 months ago
@maveni4554 never seen someone nail it so well my friend. talent-wise i think he was the best ever. only played for one worthwhile quarterback in his career, and in that year broke Rice's record (although it was obviously in more games since Rice's season was cut short by lockout). The two best undoubtedly.
turdass71 2 months ago
Say what you will, but how many receivers have 3 or more seasons with 17+ TD's. I'll save you the time: none. Randana Santana Bandana Moss is the best of all time. Not Rice, Irvin, Tim Brown, Art Monk, Marvin Harrison, Jimmy Smith (he owned the 90s), James Lofton, Andre Reed, Paul Warfield, Lance Alworth, Don Meridith, Chris/ Anthony Carter, NOBODY...
eugenius1126 2 years ago
Not better than Rice, but Moss can very easily be made a case for beingthe #2 behind Jerry, right there with his mentor and best friend Cris Carter.
(Yes, Cris is spelt that wyay)

Randy Moss What Can You Say
walterpayton3411 3 years ago 7
Jerry had 22 td in a 14 game season we have 16 game seasons now so jerry rice is 10 times better than moss. Jerry Rice has 3rings been to 4 superbowls
Coldestunsigned 3 years ago
The real rank is 1.Jerry Rice 2. Terrell owens 3.Don Hutson 4.Chris Carter 5.Marvin Harris
Coldestunsigned 3 years ago
that is dumb no offense t.o. has less yards and touchdowns than randy moss
ViKiNgS4LiFe84 3 years ago
ok so what your saying is, every wide receiver who has a ring is better than randy?? even the 3rd strings and 4th strings who sit on the bench every game? im talking about skill fool not stats or anything even though randy does have 23td now... you are a rice fan.
KSEROOKS 3 years ago
no.. Jerry Rice was better than Randy Moss will ever be, end of conversation.
Kesterminator 3 years ago
You like Jerry Rice then ..thats all there is to it. If not learn to play football. :)
KSEROOKS 3 years ago
so if I dont like Jerry Rice I should learn to play football?
Kesterminator 3 years ago
Jerry Rice has never been able to make some of the catches Randy has made so no physically Jerry is not better.
KSEROOKS 3 years ago
Physically Moss is a much more dominate threat then Jerry Rice. Jerry Rice was great but played his entire career with HoF level QBs(and Hasselbeck / Rich Gannon for a few years, but they aren't to shabby either...) Moss has had 1,000 yards receiving with 6 different QBs including Cunningham(was out of the league the year before...) Jeff George, Culpepper, Brady, Cassel, and Kerry Collins... Moss has also caught passes from Brad JOhnson and Gus Frerotte(dominated in 3 starts with vikes)
yfz01 3 years ago 2
yea he played with 2 HoF QBs, and HoF QBs can spread the ball alot better than your average qb so i doesn't make much difference, he caught everything that was thrown to him, and being a couple inches shorter than moss, that is much harder to do. That being said, Randy Moss is definitely one of the best WRs ever. he is faster in the 40 than jerry, but so is Darrius Heyward. Jerry was a complete receiver with the greatest work ethic, and until Moss breaks the all time record, Rice is still King
rudye59 2 years ago
Well... Moss first season with a HoF calibur QB and he got 23 TDs. No chemistry built during preseason or anything. I've gotta say that warrents some attention.
yfz01 2 years ago
yea but he didn't even lead all wide receivers in yards and it came with brady's nfl record 50 passing tds... it wasn't even his best season in receptions or yards... i'm not saying moss isn't a freak of nature or nething.. but saying rice's HoF qbs are what made him look great is ridiculous... i could say that randy moss has such a successful start in the nfl cuz he had Cris Carter on the other side taking away some attention from defenses... but i won't he is great
rudye59 2 years ago
There are many things to consider when rating receivers... everybody plays on different teams with different QBs... but to use Tom Brady's 50 TDs as an example??? Uhm... 23 of those TDs were Moss.
FishOn0408 2 years ago
that's what i said
rudye59 2 years ago
Tom Brady is a future HoF'er but Randall Cunningham won't make it.
Never the less, his first year with Brady, Moss had statistically one of (if not) the best season of any WR in the history of the NFL, as did his QB...half of Brady's TD's were accounted for by Moss and just over a 1/3 of hi passing yards to Randy as well.
You can use the same argument that Moss also made Tomym brady THAT much better.
Scars4lyfe08 2 years ago
yea moss accounted for just under half of brady's 50 td passes... on the other hand jerry rice's 22 tds accounted for 71 percent of joe montana's tds that year and that was in 12 games cuz of the strike... randy moss is great and he can give you some impressive on handed catched but jerry rice was a more clutch receiver and if you had one last drive to win the game and rice was on your team, you knew he was gonna get it done
rudye59 2 years ago
Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but your statistic argument is invalid.
Jerry Rice accounting for a higher percentage of Montana's TD's on a 12 game season means nothing. If Randy Moss and Brady had only collected statistics in 12 games the percentage would be well over 71 percent.
Scars4lyfe08 2 years ago
that's not true... after 12 games brady had 39tds to moss' 16.. which means that's 41percent... what i'm trying to say is that during the 87 season in san fran rice was clearly the mvp of that offense... while during the 07 season tom brady was clearly the mvp of his offense... i mean randy moss is great no doubt about that but i just don't think he's the greatest... he isn't enough clutch of a wr as jerry was to be called the greatest
rudye59 2 years ago
randy moss is the best wide reciever ever to play jus like jerry rice the only reason jerry rice is 1st cuz of sb rings but look who randy played for hes only played wit a good qb for a year cuz brady got hurt his 2nd year da pats
3dub0vee4kid 2 years ago
maybe it was brady maybe it was the play calling, but those last 4 throws were desperate, no need to panic bein down by 3 with what was it a minute and a half?? (correct me if time was less) brady couldnt hit moss in triple coverage, shoulda checked down. so it wasnt really randy's fault
clevis09 2 years ago
hold up rudye59 if randy dont got som1 to throw him da ball or he is tripled covered how da hell u supposed to do sumtn nigga dats da qbs fault for not thrown to wes welker or sumbody and plus rudye u probally da sorriest football player on topic rite now

well, randy is one man, he can't get the rings by himself. the rest of the team needed to be on their A game, but that doesn't single him out because of being in the top 3 in my opinion

BHFanaticos9 3 years ago
Get a clue about the NFL man, you don't know jack shit about it.
volumeone0686 3 years ago
Why because I don't know the exact stats that you probably spent so long looking up? Moss is an amazing talent no doubt about it but why don't you just shut up already and just wait and see if Moss catches Rice. Both will go down as 1 and 2 and in my OPINION as great of a talent Moss is, he won't catch Rice even if your little stats you keep looking up show he's on pace to do so.
Conner2029 3 years ago
Rice played 21 years... Moss has played 10 years.. In that stretch, including Rice having 3 superbowl rings and etc, Rice was on a better team buddy. Moss had 2 QB's that weren't even good.
1. Culpepper.. no.. Culpepper sucked after not having moss
2. Cunningham, never your throwing QB and Moss gave him 34 passing tds that year.
So, just the stfu. You know nothing, Moss never had a team like the 86 49ers or the 90 49ers. Moss has played with fair QBs when Rice had montana and young.
volumeone0686 3 years ago
Which might be part of the reason he doesn't believe that Moss will catch him. Who cares? It's an opinion, it's not like he's some TO fan going off about how Moss isn't as good as TO is!
Moss might catch him, but in my mind Moss is the greatest of all time.
yfz01 3 years ago
It was my opinion too, he had to stomp on it and I proved why I feel Moss is better. His only useless comment was " You spent so long looking up stats, but I already had a 80 percent idea Moss was on pace to catch Moss "
Moss might never catch Rice, numbers are numbers and they're meaningless when someone played 20-22 vs a guy who has played 10-11 years.
Rice stat wise will go down as the greatest, but I guess Smith was better then Sanders?
I went off of him because he was a dick towards me.
volumeone0686 3 years ago
I agree with you... And I agree about Sanders being better then Smith.
yfz01 3 years ago
sorry for everyone that had to read this, but I know my info on the NFL. I guess Smith was better then Sanders, because he had better stats...
volumeone0686 3 years ago
he wasn't anything special.
The man won't be like he was in 07 ever again, but to come back with no QB and is on pace for 13 tds and 1200 yards.. amazing.
volumeone0686 3 years ago
Yea he did get injured back in the day vs. the Saints, came up limping after a catch and never was as good again for the season... 03 or 04.... Vikings fan here so I remember
c0c0c0c0c0c0 2 years ago
So yeah, let me repeat this again, since you're a slow retard. Irvin, in 12 seasons couldn't touch what Jimmy Smith did in 10 seasons. Michael Irvin was considered one of the greatest, he played on one of the greatest NFL teams to ever play in the 90's. He had a all pro QB like Aikman, AIkman is WAY better then Brunell.
I know I keep bringing up others, but Rice was only elite before the 98 seasons. After that, he was average and was an player playing until 2005. He did very well in 2002, but..
volumeone0686 3 years ago
Having only 200 receptions, 37 touchdowns 3,000 yards in a 7 year window is laughable. That's the same way I see it with Peyton Manning vs Brett Favre. Did you know, Peyton Manning has never throw until 3,600 yards, 26 touchdowns? Did you know, Manning isn't playing that well, the colts together aren't playing that good and he's on pace for 26 plus touchdowns and 4,000 yards passing...
But... Favre has in 92,93, 99,00,05 and 06. I'm not even going to bring up his 91 seasons since he was a rook
volumeone0686 3 years ago
Now, what Rice was better at was having Balls and had heart (Team Player). Talent Wise, Moss wins. In Oakland, for 2 years, the Raiders only had 14 passing touchdowns in those 2 combined seasons. Collins sucks, he hasn't been really good since 00, he has been struggling with passing yards and Touchdowns, if he has a run game without relying on his arm, he's a good QB. But in Oakland, the Raiders were shit from 03,04,05,06,07 and now 08. That team was horrible.
Moss goes to NE and catches 22TD
volumeone0686 3 years ago
My bad, he caught 23 TD's.

Conner2029 3 years ago
Cont to MOSS
volumeone0686 3 years ago
He's to crush the stupid noob. Moss in 10 years averages 13 touchdowns per season, 83 catches per season and 1,300 yards per season.
Yeah, suck a dick you idiot. Irvin was never close to this and Moss is right there with Rice. Now, he's beyond rice in the 10 year stretch (including) Moss played in Oakland with Shit QB's and still out performed Rice in the 10 year gap.
Now, I love Rice, he's a great Football player. I feel he's the best, but Moss is chasing him down, if you like or not.
volumeone0686 3 years ago
Well there no doubt Moss is chasing him and he will get close but dumbass he is not as durable as Rice. Who the fuck cares if he's on pace he still has to be in the NFL at least 6 more years and preform at this level. Which I guarantee he won't do. Moss is a great talent their is no doubt that's why he will go down as the SECOND best WR. in history.
Conner2029 3 years ago
Man, you fail so much. Did I ever say he'll surpass Rice? I just said " He's chasing down Rice on numbers, just like Manning is chasing down Favres Career stats. Moss is a better WR then Rice, Moss has more speed, better cuts and of course better hands.
Jerry Rice played 21 years, he is/will be the greatest ever. But, Moss right now is chasing him down, like it or not... he is. In their 1st 10 year gap, Moss beat him.
Jerry Rice sucked in 2003-2004 and 2005. In 1985, he was shit, 97 was hurt
volumeone0686 3 years ago
So, in 21 years.
2003,2004,2005, 1985, 1997 were shit years.
Moss came in and still did okay in 05 and was bad in 06.
volumeone0686 3 years ago
There's more to read noob. I love Rice, he's one of my all time favorite players, but Culpepper was an overrated QB. He proved he was overrated, Cunningham had his best throwing season in 98... I wonder why.. Moss made decent QB's look like Brady, Manning and Marino. Rice had, Gannon, Montana and Steve Young. He has been to 3 superbowls with them.
Rice had better Head Coaches, Walsh is easily one of the best ever. Hey Asshole, Moss is at 60 catchs, 800 yards and 8 Touchdowns... He's going to...
volumeone0686 3 years ago

JimUSA 3 years ago
don't think moss will be re signed. don't think the pats were happy with moss, especially him not wanting to go over the middle. yea big plays are deadly but bill really likes a receivers to be gutsy and get in the open field. moss is about himself and still is about himself. they won years before moss was there. so why sign him when someone will take less money and produce when it counts like the playoffs.
tuberciend 3 years ago
not to be an asshole to you tuberciend but i thought id point out a few things:
-first of all if you noticed in the plaoffs he was double and triple covered much more often than he was in the regular season
-second i under stand that bill wants recievers to go over the middle, but its simply too risky in a case like moss, because he is not built for the job. he's too lenky and skinny to take the hit and we can't afford to get him injured. by the way....GO PATS!!!!!
iamrupertgrint 3 years ago 2
Again not to sound like an asshole bout this but
-Bill likes his WR to cut to the middle of the field and draw in the saftey's to get the faster guys open on the outside's(welker, stallworth) so thats why he has nice big tight end's and some tough wide outs gaffny for example but like i said they kept moss outside used his speed and arm's to produced and it looked to me that it worked..........GO PATS!!!!!!
