@OTERO81 whats up with people disrespecting arts? do u even do a martial art? u have no respect wats so ever and its a very strong art why dont u go in a dojo and trydoing it u'll eat those words caz its not easy
@ngayonnaba My question to you would be WhyTF would you need to use Judo naked? planning some kinky stuff?lol jk. I guess if your talking about with their shirt off you can use the ground work and a double/single leg take down. These moves are very easy for trained Judokos even if they aren't currently legal.
Koga has the best seio nage of any judoka EVER to do the sport! He may be small, but he's ridiculously fast and strong. He makes it look wayyyyyyyyy easier than it really is. To throw world-class competitiors like that is amazing!
@judoman123321 search travis stevens seoi nage hes got one similar too :P its my tokui waza hes inspired me and its the first thing i learnt i just love the throw....still trying to perfect throwing the standing seoi im only green belt :(
to accomplich the gentle way you have to work very hard Master Jigoro Kano called it a school of live. Because you dont judge aman by how many times he fall but how many times he can get up.
This guy uses way too much energy in his throws and you can even see @ 0:25 he is carrying him on his back. Sure he gets the take down but I've been told time and time again by my instructor that judo is the gentle way. His hips should barely touch his opponent and his opponent should seem like he's walking and then he throws himself. This guy will get the take down but he has missed the entire point of judo.
@DuykRuyk I think YOU have missed the entire point of Judo. If you've been told time and time again that Judo is the "gentle way"then I'm sorry but you were told wrong. The closest literal translation of Judo is"The flexible way".Flexible not only in the circular and flowing nature of every throw, but in the literally countless subtle and obvious variations of kime, kazushi, and even the kake(any Judoka worth their salt will know the meaning of all 3).Let's see YOUR Ippons and check YOUR technique.
@noose357 Why are you so pissed? Maybe that I'm right about this "world champion" being nothing more than a fast and strong brute. Anyway just looked it up in several different books and websites and they all say judo is the gentle way. Also doesn't change the point that this guy is forcing every throw. As for my technique I always aim for "Maximum efficient use of power." That was written by Kano himself. This koga guy has quite a ways to go.
@DuykRuyk If you got that I was pissed, you're still missing the point. You can check all the internet sources you want, but my Sensei was born and raised in Japan during the best possible age of Judo,so I'll take his word on the translation thank you.I could actually care less about Koga.Bash him all you want,it doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.I can tell by the way you type you've never fought in a shiai. There's a BIG difference between technique in training and technique in shiai.
@noose357 Sorry to say this but most people from Japan do it the traditional kodokan way which involves a lot of force. Your sensei may be from Japan but that doesn't mean he's great with his technique. On a side note, plz stfu cuz you can't really tell everything about me by the way that I type. I've been in competitions and it's all brutes throwing themselves on top of other brutes. No technique and no care for the well being of their opponent.
@DuykRuyk Oh so you personally know my Sensei and can appropriately judge his technique? lmfao, oh thank you for that, I needed a good laugh :) It's called Waza Judo and if you knew what it was you would realize what an idiot you sound like. I'm sorry if that's your experience but real Judo isn't soft and meant to be nice. It's based on Jujitsu which was based on combat in war.If you really want to talk true martial arts, and not just UFC stuff, then PM me cuz it sounds like you're very misguided.
There is still a difference this and Brazilian Jiujitsu. Its that in the Brazilian style. They could take 20 punches to the face and be bleeding all over the mat. And they would still be looking for that arm bar.....
I know karate and haven't seen much Judo. I wonder what these guy would do if we hit them. On the other hand, if they can shut down our extremities, we're toast.
See that's just it...I'm starting to link it with taekwondo in that it is teaching it's practitioners to win in a sport situation even if it means doing something completely impractical from a combat or defense standpoint. BJJ isn't far behind in my book either as it pretty much doesnt account for the guy's 2 friends waiting to jump in...ground work ain't everything. My response in this video took into consideration that the guys he threw were still alert and very capable AND had his back
@s1l3nze Well, often in a real world fight, a well placed throw or takedown can be enough to actually end the fight (imagine a Seoi Nage throw onto hard asphalt), and a well trained Judoka or Jujutsuka will know better than to take the fight to the ground if there are many bystanders. Grapplers are actually able to think for them selves, and they train more than just guard game, contrary to what you might think.
While I understand Judo and it's place in martial arts history, the idea of a competition where you can "win" by placing yourself in the absolute worst strategic position possible is ludicrous to me. Now if he was able to complete a throw and maintain an advantage I'd understand...but not this...
@s1l3nze You see Koga rolling to help finish his throws in an attempt to land his opponent directly on his back and score an "ippon" which means you win in judo. Standard judo techniques are taught so the person throwing finishes in a position to continue into controlled groundwork - this guy is just that good at the throwing side that he rarely needed groundwork transition to finish his fights. Checkout some of the links up the side like "judo in the MMA" if you're still unsure about the sport
@s1l3nze If you aren't a well well practiced judoka (i.e. normal person) and get thrown by this guy, you aren't going to be able to move at all for a while
judo + bjj = long lost twins. Why do you want brothers to fight? just horrible :'( anyways im soon to start judo, i cant wait. I wouldnt mind doing BJJ either haha. Both are so awesome!
i do russian sambo, judo and greco-roman wrestling i faced my friend that practices bjj and alot of other bjj people i win because i just have more experience either its judo or bjj or any other martial art were all evenly match it comes down to experience and personal will.

You guys, stop with the hate. BJJ came from Judo. It has similar matwork. The Gracies PRACTICE JUDO to learn standing. They're brother martial arts. It has more to do with the rules and the fighter than martial arts theory.
If you're all real martial artists you would know how to show respect to all martial arts. How would ur instructor feel about you bashing another martial art?
I dont get why people are arguing just shut the fuck up and enjoy Kogas brilliant judo!! as Sexy Studios rightly said most of u a probably little 14 yer olds wo think they know everything because they see it on tv or heard about it....
Why is everyone slagging off BJJ? Im a BJJ practitioner im 15 years old and i love and respect judo because there techniques are effective and can be applied well in a self defence situation or competition. I think its a great art even though i do not practice it but wish to in the future...
@k00lkane because BJJ practioners are claiming its the best art etc yet BJJ came from judo. without judo bjj wuld not be alive any BJJ practioner will have a VERY hard time fighting a judoka in newaza not to mention in stand up judo is even more effective because usualy BJJer's have bad posture always wanting to go on the ground so its easy to throw them...in a tournament judo v jijustu..judo won the contest even tho we dont focus much on the ground we r fomidable fighters
@alphie10 Ok, so may i ask why you are being a pro judo arsehole that cannot see the benefits of any other martial art? Obviously a judoka will be better at a throw then a BJJ practitioner because thats what you practice. And your comment about judoka's being superior in groundfighting, i think is obsurd... That is highly unlikely seeing as in BJJ you spend 95% of the time on the ground and in judo you spend most of time in standup, and i have plenty of sources that suggest otherwise!
@k00lkane i didnt say judokas are superior in ground fighting did u not understand my comment u asked in ur coment why everyone is slagging BJJ off and i expplained why they are! BJJ is obviously better at groundwork because u spend more time on it simple but dont think because thats the case u culd win a judoka easily wat i mentioned about juod beating jijustu is the history of BJJ n judo. They entered a tournament to see wich was better overall n judo won the contest by 10wins to 1
@k00lkane im a judoka myself and at my club we have a guy wo did BJJ and he was blue belt in it so im fully aware about it and i definetely respect every martial art out there. Judo is about kindness, self belief and being one with ur spiritual and physical self i dont like arguing and im rarely rarely angry at anyone..i find all this arguments that people have about wat is the best art to be honest thers no "best art" its all to do with the person n the respect they have!
@alphie10 Well good, Respect to all martial arts is kinda what i was trying to promote in my first comment. And you said a judoka would win at newaza, newaza is ground fighting right? And what particular competiotion do you speak of?
@k00lkane search the history of judo and jj in simple terms jj(the gracies at the time) in the early ages said their art was the best and judo disagreed so they decided to have a competition so each art chose their best fighters and they had a competition to see wich was better! ground fighting was allowed..and standup too. judo won10 fights and jujistu only won 1 if i remember search komlock on utube hes a judoka wo fights bjj'ers watch him that is a true example of a good judoka.
Kimura is a judo fighter that broke one of the Gracies arms. The Gracies going forward called it the Kimura. The crazy Gracies always claiming moves as their own!
bjj and judo were one martial art which u can tell if u know anything of those 2, judo is the standup version while bjj is the ground version, 2 japanese men traveled to egypt i think it was or india, and one prefer standup and the other prefer ground and thats how u got the 2 martial arts.
Seoi Nage Sensei :) I was training / doing this Koga's Seio Nage , since I've changed my club and my coach told me that it's not good for knee , but I think I will do it again , but just in Randori not anymore at Uchi-Komi also Seoi Nage is my special Technique Left and Right side . Also Koga is my idol which gave me alot of motivation and inspiration for trainings and competition .
@DansCinemaHD theres a saying i think is good for this this i dont fear the man who practices 1000 kicks one time i fear the man who practices 1 kick a 1000 times
@DansCinemaHD you can believe :) he made so much Uchi-Komi's that you can't imagine believe me , but he was not doing only Seoi Nage , he had good combinations too.
I love watching martial arts and can’t get enough of the great action movies that are coming out these days! I especially enjoy the Kung Fu movies of Jackie Chan and Jet Li and that’s why I was so excited when “Films of Fury” finally came out on demand with some great scenes from some of the coolest action movies around. It has some great martial arts sequences and movie clips! bitly .com/uBGPir
@b00gam4n I'm not saying Judo is better than bjj - I would be stupid to as bjj is pretty much just Judo in a different format - all I'm getting at is all these 12 year old kids who leave comments like "bjj is much better than this" and "this is sh*t compared to bjj" because someone has told them that if its not bjj or muay thai, its not a decent martial art.
@SexyStudStudios bjj only work in a cage, (one man vs one man), in the REAL life, with more opponents bjj doesn't work. Also in bjj don't teach to fight with the hands and legs. Sorry for my basic english :P
i would use judo to throw or takedown and counter leg takedowns and bjj for ground grappling.even though both lack quick kill techniques like other martial arts that can break bones or knockout .i was trained in combat hand to hand martial arts i once dislocated the jaw of a judo champ with hook punch!mma or sportfighting isn't self defense streetfighting they can't defend against mutiple attackers or disarm weapons.
@Nbyond what did I do? im just paraphrasing what Jigoro Kano said...looks like somebody needs to learn their judo history haha...I'll take my leave now~
@ShuyuKoukin ur a fucking idiot who sucks dick at martial arts u fucking disgrace. please die and do the world a favour. jujutsu bred judo which in turn bred BJJ u fucktard. fucking idiot. judo focuses more on throws than jujutsu. judo and jujutsu had a competition on which art would be the art learnt by the police of japan and judo crushed jujutsu. Kano believed that "Jūjutsu" was insufficient to describe his art: although Jutsu means "art" or it implies a method of physical techniques. moron.
@ShuyuKoukin hahaha u just got owned cos u didn't know what u were talking about u dumb shit. please fucking cut ur wrist and do everybody on this planet a favour. ur a keyboard warrior and troll who talks shit on the net cos u suck so bad in real life. everyone hates u and bullies. u think u know judo cos ur fat american who wishes he was jap cos all the jap chicks think ur a piece of shit, but ill tell u what, u have no talent for anything, especially martial arts u stupid dickhead. fuck off.
that one technique he does is killer. I believe it was bruce lee who said it, correct me if I am wrong. "I do not fear the man who has practiced a thousand kicks, I fear the man who has practiced one kick, a thousand times".
All the negative talk about how Judo is better than BJJ and vice versa. I train both and can say that they both have their pros and cons. The pro for judo is the throws and trips(obviously) and BJJ has the clear advantage for submissions. I train under a 2nd degree bb Judoka and another bb under the same Dan, 6th degree. I started off as BJJ player with a wrestling background and sub them a lot but when we're on our feet, I'm under their mercy. Stop the arguments and enjoy both as they complime
@19thaman79 I salute you for making this comment! That was a great coming-to you gave those non-martial-artists whom love to compare styles. Comparing styles in the MA & the MMA is pointless and stupid IMHO because the greatness of a style does not reside in the technique and dynamics of an art or style, it resides in the skill and perseverence of the fighter. Anyone who's been in the martial arts and had a fight or exchanged skills with another MA would know. Like you & I. Awesome!
@FightersDay As a martial artist, I believe all arts have there positives and negatives but all are good depending on the person. Certain people can utilize boxing(example) in ways that some can't, some people favore the grappling art(me) but that doesn't mean one is better than the other. For me, grappling is better than boxing(for example) but doent mean that bjj, wrestling or judo are better. I try to train them all and learn new things no matter the art.

I couldn't agree more, in Sweden; they stop the fight emmidiatly when you end up on the floor if you don't get your Shime-waza directly, that's a thing that is better in BJJ - they let you actually work on the floor!

@k00lkane im a judoka myself and at my club we have a guy wo did BJJ and he was blue belt in it so im fully aware about it and i definetely respect every martial art out there. Judo is about kindness, self belief and being one with ur spiritual and physical self i dont like arguing and im rarely rarely angry at anyone..i find all this arguments that people have about wat is the best art to be honest thers no "best art" its all to do with the person n the respect they have!
alphie10 1 month ago
@alphie10 Well good, Respect to all martial arts is kinda what i was trying to promote in my first comment. And you said a judoka would win at newaza, newaza is ground fighting right? And what particular competiotion do you speak of?
k00lkane 1 month ago

Also Koga is my idol which gave me alot of motivation and inspiration for trainings and competition .

SexyStudStudios 1 month ago
@SexyStudStudios hhaha i agree judo is superior to bjj.
momo200090 1 month ago

ShuyuKoukin 3 months ago
@ShuyuKoukin ur a fucking idiot who sucks dick at martial arts u fucking disgrace. please die and do the world a favour. jujutsu bred judo which in turn bred BJJ u fucktard. fucking idiot. judo focuses more on throws than jujutsu. judo and jujutsu had a competition on which art would be the art learnt by the police of japan and judo crushed jujutsu. Kano believed that "Jūjutsu" was insufficient to describe his art: although Jutsu means "art" or it implies a method of physical techniques. moron.

@19thaman79
I couldn't agree more, in Sweden; they stop the fight emmidiatly when you end up on the floor if you don't get your Shime-waza directly, that's a thing that is better in BJJ - they let you actually work on the floor!
But anyways, I love Judo... ;)
