I have an 03 WRX that has 404whp with 435ft lbs of torque and I would NEVER launch my car from more than 4,500 rpms and even then this guy just dumped the clutch and I just lean out of the clutch.

I've owned RWD and AWD cars, and hands down my 02 wrx has proven to me that anything other than AWD isn't worth it. I can rip guys when its raining or snowing out. Who cares if its a smaller engine and I need a turbo to keep up. The boxer engine is one of the finest pieces of engineering in the automotive world, and who doesn't love boost? I would own an STI over a vette any day. The STI can be your daily driver and your track car on the weekends.

Its most definately not. WRX transmitions, especial 01-03 are horribly weak. I see them broken all the time. 04-05 are better. II know cause I have one :)
You mean 03-05 (post bug eye). I have owned a WRX classic and a 2004 WRX, great transmissions, if they GO its because of thoughtless tuning. Subaru themselves do the ppp pack for the WRX + 40 hp without any alterations to transmission, if they were getting brocken boxes often they wouldn't continue it.
The final ratio on the 01 model onwards are 4.11? Correct me if im wrong. But this is more gentlre on the drivetrain, i have a classic with a 5sp and final ratio of 3.9 and ive busted two boxes.
Also, any 6 speed STi box will take just about any beating you hand out to it =D

Well that WRX looks like it has a few modds, front mounted cooler for one, it may have others. From the inside camera on the second run it didn't look like the ZO6 was gaining, even after the WRX's AWD advantage had passed.

I've owned RWD and AWD cars, and hands down my 02 wrx has proven to me that anything other than AWD isn't worth it. I can rip guys when its raining or snowing out. Who cares if its a smaller engine and I need a turbo to keep up. The boxer engine is one of the finest pieces of engineering in the automotive world, and who doesn't love boost? I would own an STI over a vette any day. The STI can be your daily driver and your track car on the weekends.

A turbo is used when displacement is not an option. When Engine mass is not an option(U can only make an engine so big) A turbo compresses the air and allows an smaller engine to take in da same or if not more air than a bigger engine. Dont hate on stuff u dont understand. Please

yo i have a 02 wrx and when i see any car after i launch catching me up in 3rd gear.. i know he's gonna pass me or beat me from a roll.. but i didnt see that vette coming for him on 3rd gear.. so im pretty sure that he got spanked, keep in mind a stock wrx has 180whp.. 227 at the crank so im glad u feel like the big shit when u beat them with ur 330hp. race me or the guy in this vid. and ur v8 wont just keep up, unless u run low to mid 12s..

2 Things:

I agree with the bottom half of your post "vettesrapeimports" but honestly lets be realistic here, racing from a roll is a handi cap race, racing from a dig is a real race. Like you if were to track someone on foot you wouldnt say lets start at jogging speed because im slow taking off, slow is slow whether it due from traction or lack of power. I think real races are from a dig.

Wrx trannys suck ass,well see how long his tranny lasts doing that. id feel more comfortable doing that in a sti. but that wrx was heavilly modded and the corvette was stock, a older model, and with a crappy driver in my opinion, the wrx would stand no chance against a new zo6 especially from a roll. Wrx has nothing on the corvette except the awd factor which if he had a set of slicks and some basic mods it def would be a different story. and im not knocking awd because I have a awd dsm btw...

First off.. why cant you just accept that the Subie has so much better engineering and can get that performance out of so little, and still cost less with mods? It's not really that hard, My 98 Rex with its 2.0T beats quite a few vettes.

Its most definately not. WRX transmitions, especial 01-03 are horribly weak. I see them broken all the time. 04-05 are better. II know cause I have one :)

You mean 03-05 (post bug eye). I have owned a WRX classic and a 2004 WRX, great transmissions, if they GO its because of thoughtless tuning. Subaru themselves do the ppp pack for the WRX + 40 hp without any alterations to transmission, if they were getting brocken boxes often they wouldn't continue it.

The final ratio on the 01 model onwards are 4.11? Correct me if im wrong. But this is more gentlre on the drivetrain, i have a classic with a 5sp and final ratio of 3.9 and ive busted two boxes.
Also, any 6 speed STi box will take just about any beating you hand out to it =D

Well that WRX looks like it has a few modds, front mounted cooler for one, it may have others. From the inside camera on the second run it didn't look like the ZO6 was gaining, even after the WRX's AWD advantage had passed.
