  • can you ride those on the ATV trails or are they too wide?

  • Did these ever make it to the UK, would love to have one?

  • I just bought a 1970 Cushman Trackster a few months a go and it has the 29hp original engine in it. I have plenty of power and run it at 1/2 throttle most of the time in less I need more speed. Yours sounds pretty noisy maybe its just the type mufflers you used. Nice job and video.

  • Now, that's cool. Put a blade on that and it's a snowplow for your drive.

  • Hi, it's an 18hp Vanguard V-twin. I didn't change the gears. I wanted to try it this way first just to see how it would work. It would be nice to get the pumps spinning in their more efficient operating range of RPM but it works pretty good the way it is. It sure fit good compared to the other engines that I was considering using. I didn't have to modify the linkage or much else at all.

  • I have five Tracksters and will be doing a Honda TDW 24hp Conversion to one of them. I was going to change the gears in the pump to 2:1, but seeing how well yours runs with an 18hp. I my not. What make engine are you using?

    Thanks!

  • Sorry my question was a little vague. Actually the Sundstrand hydrostats used in Tracksters have an operating pressure of 2600 psi. at 6000 rpm. When doing a conversion to 4 stroke; there are two gears in the hydrostat pump housing that run at 1:1 ratio. Since the Honda, Kohler and Briggs V twin 4 strokes top rpm is 3500. Some guys doing the conversion change the pump gears to 2:1 to get the pressure up to the correct 2600psi. But, that's around another $500.00 for the two gears.

  • What motor do you have in your Trackster? Did you also replace the gears in the tranny when you did the four stroke conversion?

  • It's actually a 18hp v twin engine, not a 20hp like the video mentions. Gears? it's hydrostatic drive.... there are no gears, it uses hydrostatic pumps.
