Hey i have about 5,000 cards and still some blisters new in packets and core decks unopened i am willing to trade, im based in Scotland and ohh yeah i dont know how to play either :(
2500+ cards? I stopped keeping track of my collection after 10K+ (and that's just my trek, I also collected and played Star Wars CCG and Highlander CCG). As for learning to play the game? The inside joke with this game was that you needed an engineering degree to play it. It was complicated enough when it was first released, but with nearly every expansion there were new rules, rule errata, changes to preexisting cards, and new or modified game mechanics. I loved the game, but 2nd ed. killed it.
I've twice as many cards (1 of each for play + 1 of each for my collection). Never played due to all the bloat of the new card types & rules. The learning curve is too steep for beginners. Try downloading a pdf of the Introductory 2 Player Sample Game. It's for the basic set only. Set it up & play along with it. Then try a game of your own. Bring each expansion into play, one at time, learning the updated rules as you go, playing a few games until it becomes clear before moving onto the next.
Um......well. I mean this is the nicest way posible. What are you doing? You've got a wife there has got to be some better way for you to spend your time then trying to find the rules for some discontinued card game.
@Elk4758 I play, or try to play, this card game while my wife plays World of Warcraft. We don't have to do everything together, so we're keeping some hobbies of our own.
when i dont know how to play a card game, i just take all of the cards in my hands and 52 pickup them around the room and make my sisters pick them up.
My friends are gamers. When we get together, we play all sorts of board games and card games like that. 90% of the games, I have no idea how to play or understand the rules!
@anakin1814 Yeah, that sounds like my evening last night. We spent the night hanging out and shooting the breeze, and knowing the rules weren't really necessary.
@AndyPliskin I still play and have fun...I just kind of go along with things. Usually by the end of each game, I get it, but by then it's too late. Strategy games just aren't my thing! LOL

There's a great guide at trekcc.org called "Into the Final Frontier" that basically draws up a mock game for you to follow along with.

Decipher stopped making new cards, but the game isn't dead. Visit trekcc.org to find players in your area.

If I could remember where I put mine, I'd send them to you. I couldn't figure it out, either. I also have a Captain Picard plate.

@PowerRangers12345 That would be a mess since there are a lot more than 52 cards involved.
