AGC stands for Automatic Gain Control, Generally, if you turn it off, you need to set the rig up so you can adjust it manually. it's not a filter it simply adjusts the RF gain on the fly so that you have a somewhat equalized level from different signals whether they are weak or strong.
Yeh it is excellent on 2 metres and 70 cms. I am sure 6 metres is good to but i get a lot of pager interference on 6. As for 80m, it is very popular is OZ, and the best HF band.

Excellent sensitivity, i recommend you get the DSP unit with the radio, it makes a real difference.

I have one as well Voice chip, found it at a hamfest in Calgary,Alberta sweat unit
also the al4 tuner 1/4 dipole, 167'0" cloathsline antena works great .VE@CEH

Excellent radio, have one myself. I use it at home or portable.
Its amazing how much they can pack into such a small package.

Have you tried this on 6m and 2m - what about 27 Mhz also, how do you rate this radio for sensitivity ?
Is 80m well used in Oz ?
