Thanks so much for posting your videos. I tune in every now and again. I feel like I'm attending class when I watch which is nice because I tend to miss class, being a student anyway. Keep posting them!
so your telling me that i cant use raku firings for any use but decoration. Is it easy to make a kilm that i can use so i can make usable cookware?? please , bare with me, i know nothing about pottery , but i saw your raku kilm and i was going to make that , cuz it looked easy , butttt, im guessing im not going to attempt now , cuz i dont plan on makeing decorative pottery
The scratched decoration on the sides of the stoneware teabowl look like abstract faces, and the drips o the outside like hair on either side. It's abstract enough not to be kitschy. I think it succeeds very well.
Simon - I really enjoyed this clip, especially at 10:23 when you're critical of that vase with the two bands of color -- before you said that I was thinking "somethings a bit off" but if you hadnt of said what, I probably wouldnt have figured out what was off. I can sometimes see that things arent quite working in my pieces, but not what the problem is - thanks for the good example.
Simon!

Simon, I am trying to get hold of you to find out if you will be doing workshops in Spain this spring, May/June?

The important number is the Ferro Number. In your case 3134. Usually the frits are in the 3000's or the 200's.

Nice. Looks like my concerns about your raku kiln were wrong. I'm glad it worked as planned. Thank you so much for sharing the results with us.

Raku pots aren't functional, are they? I heard you can't use raku for any liquids, strictly display - is that correct?

@mudpuppy61 . That is correct ! you can use them for decorative floral dry grasses etc , or pot pouri . SL
