@asafportnoy yea they have the formula gran turismo but that's not the best unless you find the right tuning. you really shouldn't have to, it's an f1 car, it should always handle good by default. what's really cool about these f1 cars is what they are. I don't know if you knew but they're based on real f1 cars. the last 2 numbers standard for the f1 season, the letter stands for S- Ayton Senna (greatest driver ever),P- Alain Prost, M-Nigel Mansell, or H- Damon hill. there's 5 or 6 of them

@thnk4urself there is formula gran turismo 1 in GT5 which is actually from GT4 and they could at least make them premium cars in GT5 and not some bad copy. Ferrari is god but its only one car and they should make a competition of ferrari f1 and some other formula team stil present today :-)

@azo112 Use the 002 to win the Super Speedway 150-mile endurance race. If you don't pit once, you'll get a 001 (at least, that's what I got).

@pagani43 it doesnt have anything to do with pitting its all luck and maybe pressing the car at the right time, though its never been proved. i did this race a lot of time never pitted so i can tell u for sure thats not the case

@shebzydon yes there is a big difference in all of those u mentioned. just do a search at GTPlanet or google and u will find what people found out about each of them. i posted in 1 of my videos the differences i think in "MY GARAGE" video so u can look through the comments there if u like.

@niceone11987 not even close u can do it 20 times and win but yet not get it. it mostly luck. what u can do to make sure u get it is do the Formula GT series save before last race,finish and then reset till u get it.

For anyone questioning what sort of cars theses are, they are F1 cars. The 001 resembles the F1 cars from the early 90s and the 002 resembles the F1 cars from the mid to late 80s

its weird that the names of the cars (FO90/S F687/S ect) match exactly to the F1 cars of that era. i think even the maker of this game Yamauchi talked about it somewhere but u know best.

@killemallification1 this game was made much earlier than 2005 its from 2001 so i dont think going 5 yrs bk would help. but look at the models names and see... the F090/S looks exactly as senna's car of this year when he was driving for mclaren even got same color scheme so does the green F687/S of lotus and so on... i am guessing u are american and thats why u insist its indi cars, i have talked with people like u here before. if u arent sorry and hope u learned something.

On my last GT 3 file which got corrupted due to copying to another memory card, I had all the 002 colours I could want, and hardly any Polyphony 001's, but now on this new file of mine, I have several 001's in many colours but only one 002, in white/purple.

In my opinion, the best colours of each Polyphony are:

001 - Black/White, and Red/White

002 - Silver/Purple, and Blue

So far I managed to get three 001 easily but am having trouble getting the 002, I repeat ten times the endurance of Seattle (which is the shortest for a 002) but I got only three 002 (including one red and two white) ... but I seem to always press X at the right time to get the F1 car but it 4 times I had the Nismo GTR and the other three I had the Panoz. Does anyone know a surefire way to get a Formula 1 car?

@Vitocorp1 u should do series instead of endurance races so u can save before the last race with enough points to win the series even if u skip the last race and then just reload intill u get the 002. u can do this following series:

Formula GT

@Vitocorp1 well i never could prove it to myself if it does make a different but i do try to press the X on the specific car i want. i dont really know the logic behind it but i have noticed that if i dont press on it usually there is a car that the game favors and pick it the most.

@asafportnoy is very strange, super speedway endurance in me 4 attempts were enough to get three 001 (press X) while in Seattle more than 10 attempts to get two 002 (press x) and a free press x, but in that case I got a 002, those who already had ... in the championships this method seems foolproof (in 90% of the cases I got more car I wanted)

@Vitocorp1 thats just a superstition,the game chosses the car randomly.

the best you can do is to use two memory cards so you can get the car you want and then sell it to the other file like i did long time ago

Yes but the problem is that, and like he said, the 001 is far easier to win than the 002, even though it is the slightly superior car.

The 002 can only be won through the F1 championship which is too long, completing all professional races, and a few of the Endurance races - Laguna Seca 200 Miles, Rome & Trial 2 Hr, Mistral 78 laps, Roadster, SS11 and Seattle 100 Miles.

The 001 is easier since it can be won through several championships long enough to save before the last rce.

first of all i dont see a reason why anyone would want the polyphony 002 car anyway as it sux comparing it to the 001. handling and acceleration are much inferior and the 001 is faster by about 2 seconds on each track. second the 002 can be obtain in every race or series that the 001 is available, just gotta reset enough times and u can get it. i got the 002 on a lot of races where i already got the 001 so thats just wrong info.

What the hell? I disagree that it is "wrong info" and the 002 can be obtained on many tracks as you put it. The 002 can only be won through 7 of the 10 available Endurance Races, completing Formula GT or through getting all Golds in the Professional League.

The Polyphony 002 is an awesome car, ok, may not be as good as the 001 but its still sweet.

It sucks, I complete several Endurance Races, some repeatedly and I never get the Polyphony cars. I get my 001 from series races.

i can see by your other comments you have many "thoughts" on how the game handles and give out the prize cars. i am giving the information from my own experience of the game (as i said i won the 002 on most of the same races i won the 001) as u relay on i really dunno what, just guesses i assume. it has nothing to do with game complition or what car u drive thats just bullshit. listen or not this is the last consideration i give to this matter.

well i play PAL version and the last event is Formula 1 chamionship(that event which is named "?") and i went to the race and AI cars are F-1 lol :D(you have to have a SPECIAL licence to get there but i didn't won that champioship so i don't know is the price is the F-1 car)

I'm Italian,so sadly I have te NTSC version,I'm playing GT3 now,and today I've achieved the Poliphony001 green and yellow (1:03)

I had a save with the 001 black and white but I deleted it :(

You mean u have the PAL version, the NTSC is the american version.

I am playing now too but on the NTSC version!

Just do what i did and get a swap magic so u can run it. Its much more fun with all the other F1 cars and a normal tire wear (as oppose to the sucky front right tire which always go red no matter what u do on the PAL version) and a few other differences.

but as u can see i dont really use them as they r less fun to handle compared to the 001. and yet i wish i had your ntsc version, my favorite is the F686/m all 4 colors of it rocks too.

the pal versions garage looks smoother and i wonder if the game feels any different.

im working on a gt4 file right now, but i dont have a computer yet to upload any videos. sadly, the f1 car is hard to get, i do have one, but only one color so far.

yeah i think there is a difference cant be sure though. but for once i am pretty sure tire wear last longer on the ntsc version.

about gt4 i know its hard the get an f1 car but there is only 1 kind so dont bother looking for others (u probably knew it).

if your b-spec driver is good put it on the 24 hours nurburgring and go on with your day. mine sucked so i had to play like 6 hours of it.

There are alot of races u can get F1 cars from. In each endurance race there is a chance to win one+ a few series on pro league (last three races except "like the wind"). Everytime there is an F1 car u can win different colors.
