  • i see why crazy joe gallo seen himself in tommy udo

  • I'm betting, when victor mature says "What's that funny smell?" Richard Widmark says "That's perfume" He was taliking about pot.

  • Richard Widmark channeled his inner psycopath for this role.

Tommy Udo is they type of guy that you dread being in a room with. He is cold as ice and mean as a snake. Victor Mature as Nick Bianco is amazing. His face alone is interesting to look at. Great movie.

  • So this is where Joe ''Crazy Joe'' Gallo got his role from!

  • Udo tells his moll to go home and wait for him while he takes Nick to a brothel. What's gay about that scene?

  • *Sexy Psycho Tommy Udo! The very genesis of the psycho/thriller movie.

  • I remember that satanic laugh when I watched that movie in Polish TV 30 years ago,as a young boy yes,yes ,we've had American movies behind the Iron Courtain in Poland

    Widmark was super !

  • i dont think they are queer.

i mean the book the Big Sleep has gay chartures but the movie version severly waters down the gayness the certain chartures. so much so its not there.

  • ps again spelling crap ,but i.m pissed.mums a better speller.

  • not looking like a good movie . but allways give a thought 4 my mums holewoodfilm star adle. she told me that when i was about 8. thanks4 the memerys. ps im 45 ,so nostelger and the thought of a coffee 2 moz with me mum as been the reeson 4 this long boorin tale . o.

  • How can somebody with such nice teeth have such a horrid smile? Great acting.

  • 3:39 "What's that funny smell?)

    "It's perfume!".

Cracks me up, obviously they're in a whorehouse where the hookers use cheap perfume.

  • I think you are right about the whorehouse, but I always thought the comment about the funny smell was a reference to weed or opium being smoked inside there. Remember, in the '40s, the drug culture was pretty much underground and hidden from mainstream society. In any case, a great movie!!

  • Dyer shouldnt be trying to project his homosexuality on things that clearly arent gay...Widmark's Tommy Udo was brilliant and I will never forget that shifty eyed psychotic giggle

  • R.I.P. Richard Widmark. Long live TOMMY UDO!

  • Richard Dyer must be a complete idiot then. I mean, what is it with people? Especially lately, a guy says, "Who needs dames?" or "I got caught bending over a guy" and the first thought is homosexuality. I didn't get THAT at ALL in these scenes; you'd have to be some perverted little kid. lol. America is so immature these days, so "sexually suspicious". Men in those days would dance or bunk together and think nothing of it. "Pals" didn't mean "queer". What a sad juvenile state we're in.

  • @jennaleeq You know jack-shit about Richard Dyer or film theory. High five.

  • "Tommy Udo" was the role that "made" his screen career...and that's what he's best remembered for...rest in peace, Mr. Widmark.

  • @fromthesidelines The Riddler is based on him too.

  • A great actor! R.I.P.

  • 3:38 "what's that funny smell?"

    "perfume" funny stuff

  • That crazy joe's main man!!!! Tommy was crazy as hell

  • Thanks a lot for the upload...Richard Widmark kicked ass in this film. Do you happen to have their last scene together, in the restaurant? The tension and chemistry was dynamite. Would be greatly appreciated, cheers!
