  • Hey can i plug my ipod into this and jam with the music in it?

so the Left and right channels coming from my ipod into the micro BR?

  • @chandin69 yep

  • low battery

  • Hi, sorry for the question but do you think this is good for recording covers? I know it can play songs but can you record a cover over top of it?

  • I like your liberal use of the term, "POS" :-)

    I think it's funny!!!!

    TheDevil . com ~~ TheAngel . com ~~ GodsGamble . com

  • it is possible to use pedals into this gadget? or can only the br's effects be used?

  • Can anyone tell me if the Micro-BR has punch-in/out capability / input for a punch-in pedal so you can punch-in/out in the middle of a passage to fix mistakes? Thanks.

  • Can you plug it in your amplifier so that it records that?

  • can i just record the drums with the microphone or do i need to like mic it up

  • tell me a thing... can you record a guitar sound directly on another recording?

  • can i plug it in to an electric drumn kit?

  • stop the autofocus on your camera and it'll stop the focus noises on you

  • Fab little device, very useful.

    *Check my Strat demo!!

  • Hi there, do you know if we can record electronic drums on micro br?

    Filsommer

  • that chirp sound sounds like those old ribbon ink printers

  • i love the micro br. i hook it up to my macbook, as if its going out through headphones, put that through some more post production to make some great guitar tones... i never figured out how to get the

  • at what store can i buy one??

  • Well shit I didn't know you could do all that other stuff on it. If I could ask, do you have any problems with the SD card, such as, are you able to erase the card and start brand new again or do you need another one. Also, it seems that the cards it uses are no longer made so it looks like you can't replace it anymore. Thanks.

  • @munsterr777 i use a different sd card thats 1gb. the one that came with it is 126mb and no different except it came with 1 song that sucks

  • @StupidVids2009 Thanks for your reply. I think I'm going to have to contact Roland

about it because I can't seem to find the cards that match the ones listed in the instructions. I had already (before I realized that) gotten two cards but they won't initialize, and I can't reuse the one it came with so it's like I'm stuck with it. Once again much appreciated for the reply.

  • @munsterr777 have you tried erasing on your computer? i think i had the same problem. if so, before you record, make sure to press MP3, then press record. set the options like mp3 or wav, then press play. it won't initialize unless u press mp3 before you do all this.

  • @StupidVids2009 Hey there again, hmmm, I didn't think about that. I have a MAC and basically the only way it will work is if I convert the recordings to WAV. It seemed to me that the BR defaulted back to MP3 once I start a new recording, but

I'll check that out, thanks again for the advice.

  • thats some crappy focusing noise i hope the camera quality worth it

  • Can you record singing and an acoustic guitar at the same time? Can you add a mic if the built in mic isn't as good ? Just wondering?

  • @TheOyeoye000

You can put a mic into it if you'd like. The built in mic is decent, but its alot better if you did put a actual mic into it to record. But sadly, it only does 1 thing at a time, so if you were on the GTR setting part of it, you could only play the guitar, if you were on the MIC setting, it would record anything that goes into the mic. So if you were to use a natural acoustic without plugging into the boss but had it set on MIC, I dont think you'd have a problem.

  • that sound is too annoying

  • cool. thanks you

  • i wish they selled this awesome machine here ):

  • what does this thing exactly do?

  • hey can someone tell me how or direct me to a website that demonstartes how to use the drums and get different patterns at differents parts of the song.

    good track by the way

  • I dont know of any movies that demonstrate it. (I might possibly make one since I think this gadgets great and needs alot of explanation) but the way to arrange drums is to go to rhythm, then you'll see a AR button which means arrangement, press that then slide to the left and change the P to S (next to the big AR:) You are now ready to arrange the drums, click "edit" then you'll see "STP" click that, and I think you can figure out how to arrange the steps. Hope that helps. msg me if you need to

  • @223Sleepy

Can you play on the Micro BR through your amp instead of using the amp effect on it? Also, can you completely customize a drum beat on it that they don't already have. Otherwise you can't really create your own song.

  • @hoopz2598

Yes, you'd need an adapter though to put it into the output slot where the headphones originally are supposed to go. Then plug it into the amp, and there ya go, its playing through the amp.

The drums are preset (as in they have little looping rhythms), but you can arrange the drums any way you like, change the tempo during the song, put drum breaks during the song, so basically yes you can create your own drum track. There are about 300+ drum beats so its pretty fun.

  • @223Sleepy

Yeah, but then that would mean that you'd need two inputs on your amp right? I'm trying to picture it, would it be two plugs going into your amp..one from your guitar and then the adapter? What adapter is it called?

Hm..yeah about the drum thing, I guess I just need to learn more about it...I don't know how to change the drum tempo during a song or put in fills yet.

  • Nope, just 1. But you WOULD need 2 chords. 1 chord to go into the BOSS's output to your amp, the other chord to go into the input to your guitar. 2 Chords yes, but 1 input is needed for your amp. I do it all the time, even use it for little open mics. Its just a normal adapter, 1 that you plus the chord in and it basically turns the fat plug of the chord, into a little headphone jack. Drums are set very easily, yea do some research though, great little gadget the Boss is.

  • Do the drum patterns include fills, etc...? If i buy this, will i be able to create any type of music that comes in to my mind? let's say heavy metal, jazz, etc...

  • check out the br 900 or the br 1600

  • i got a question guys...can the distortions be tweaked or are they just standalone???

  • yes they can as far as i know nd u can make ur own.

  • Nice video. Seems like a great device. I'm considering to buy it! This would have been a better video without that annoying chirping noise!

  • ha ha, i was JUST about to ask what that chirping sound was, papon77 is right it DOES sound like a bird, your cam focus, thats weird??...its funny tho.

anywho, i was seriously thinking about gettting one these little bad boys. The only bad thing is that I dont think it can do two tracks at a time, so if you wanted to record drums in stereo with a couple of overhead mics thats not possible?

    ..thanks for posting tho!

  • nice demo dude...but WTF is that krickin' sound????!!!! is that a cash register machine??i bet you sell a lotta those!!!! lol..keep on rockin'!!!!

  • To have it remember the tempo, you must use an ARRangement in the rhythm section, NOT just a pattern (PTN) Arrangements remember tempo, so make a new arrangement (you could even have just one pattern play for the whole song) and set your tempo. It will be there when you load the song.

  • man

I got one of these babies too

they're awesome but they eat batteries like I drink beers

    quickly

  • just by a power adapter - they only cost about $15.

  • music sounds great! but what was that irritating clicking in the background?

  • sorry...that's my stupid camera in macro mode. I just watched it now and your right, it is extremely irritating! I should really redo the video with that removed somehow.

  • @3gypt1an I think it sounds awesome.

  • why is it !! that roland/boss gear sounds so good ??? yet is so so f*cking hard to work !!! i had a roland u20 keyboard back in the day !!! it sounded so brillaint !!! user manual !! 500 pages long !!! i now have gt8 pedal for my guitar 500 pages long !!! i now have a mirco br 500 pages long !!! i guess i should have learned by now a ???? this gear sounds fantastic !!! but work out how to use it !! it's like having a chat with steven hakin !!

  • Yamaha is somewhat the same way, they have some great sounds and the manuals are fairly short but the interfaces are never great...

  • I was thinking of buying a new pocket recorder, but have I understood correctly that it's impossible to make your own rhythm-patterns in

Micro BR? So you have to use the presets of the machine? I have an older Zoom-recorder now where you can compose your own rhythms. And it's absolutely crucial for me to be able to do that.

  • When i turn on my micro br it only comes up with track 1 flashing at the bottom, I don't know how to listen to the songs after ive recorded it and i dont know how to record multiple tracks.

    Please get back to me.

  • To record other tracks, just hit the record button, then select the track button under the display. It's that easy.

To call up other songs, hit "UTILITY", then SNG, then SEL. Use + and - to scroll through the songs and hit the TR4 button to "EXE"ecute the load. Hit play.

  • HOw the heck do you erase a track?

i recorded a rhythm track and a lead, but it was just a test run - now when i go to do the rythm track over i hear my stupid test lead...so how do i erase a track? thanks

  • First... read the manual. You can even look it up in the index. i.e. (Track - Erase)

    Here's how you do it.

Hit Utility, select TRK, select ERS, dial in TR#-V# (Track and V-Track numbers) hit ALL, then YES.

Also, if you know you want to erase a track you just recorded - Hit Utility, then UND (undo) then YES. The track is gone. Good luck.

  • dude i did read that part in the manual. I followed it step by step - earase all - YES - and my stupid track is still there!

    I'll try tomorrow i guess...thanks anyway!

  • Can you record from a keyboard/electric piano on this?

  • as long as you have the right patch cables - you can record anything.

  • in other words, I would NOT like to use Boss Micro BR as a distortion, multieffect processor.I get the guitar sound with all effects I need from my amp. Now I would like to record/create a whole song with Booss Micro BR;)is that possible?? how do I hook up my gear on to it? is it ok if I connect my headphone output to its guitar input?tnx, and great demonstration!

  • hey!can I usethis boss JUST for recording my guitar with distortion I get from my amplifier..cause I have an all-tube mesa boogie rack and would really like to keep my sound and use this recording studio simply as drum machine and for creating/recording a whole song layer by layer:) tnx!!

  • can you hear other tracks while your playing? as in if you lay down a bass track and then do a guitar track can you hear the bass track?

  • yup---it's just like you're standard 4-track recorder...but the cool thing you have 32 virtual tracks (8 per track) which you can toggle between to listen and eventually mix down. And you can dump all 32 tracks in sync back onto your pc without much trouble at all.

  • was the micro br interfering with the camera

  • No the camera was in macro mode and continuously trying to focus.

  • so, You're very impressed with it, I am about to buy one; do you know if it is any good for vocals (with the built in mic)?

  • I don't sing so not sure...but the fidelity of the built-in mic is surprisingly good for acoustic guitar so I would think likely not too bad for vocals as well.

  • it's pretty damn good - you won't get a compressed studio sounding vocal, but you'll get excellent live sound.

  • If you select MIC for the input, in the effects section, it will automatically select a Vocal Multi. This first effect has a compressor, but you need to hit EDT, then "cmp" to turn it on.

    Sounds GREAT!

  • @CodyAllenmusic It's better to use a mic through a mixer then line in. I've used the on board mic for vocals not the greatest but for room micing a practice it's a good mic.

  • you have to go to the mastering tool then the tempo will be set on whet you wanted it to be then the whole song is one track so you can 3 more tracks to it

    ADAM

  • dude i got mine for christmas and it is AMAZING!!!!! i love it!

  • I hope to get that for christmas, I can't even imagine all the tunes I'd be able to write with it!

  • ditto, one day till i get mine :)

  • Oh, my...

  • That is one noisy camera lens!

  • i was expecting the tones to be crap but i could really work with that... i bought mine on friday so i should get it on tuesday.

What amp models does it have?

  • It's got about a dozen amp simulators but labeled generically -- reading between the lines the list looks like VOX, Marshall, Fender twin, Mesa Boogie etc. Plus about 14 speaker and cabinet simulations. I'm sure there's better out there but it's really not too bad given all the other stuff this thing does.

I just pasted some more info in the About This Video blurb...check out the links.

  • I'm thinking of getting one, because i would like to record some songs of my band. Would this be able to record bass, guitar, drums and vocals at the same time?

  • It has a built in mic in which you could do that. Or hook your gear up to a mixer then forward the output to this.

  • sounds cool, might get one then.

  • Going order mine now! WOOHOO!

  • no mate, boss have aimed this one pretty solely at the solo project musician, though officially you cant record two separate parts on 2 tracks, I have heard rumours you can with the correct cables/adapters. Its got some quality features tho, far more than your average 4 track, the best bit has to be recording/ arranging etc whereever the fuck you like tho (it has mp3/usb/plug in power to,ace!)

  • Great quality for such a small device.

  • Sounds really good! I have a BR-864 and it's just amazing how many effects and goodies are packed inside these Boss machines!

  • great wee machines aren't they.

  • it has a built-in drum machine and you can record 4 different things and play them at once

    better?

  • how did it have all the drums and guitar when ya werent playing

  • its a track recorder

    dee dee dee
