We have a body and a spirit!! Scientists have proved that we, as human beings, do indeed have a 'presence' that leaves the body when dead (weight loss instantly after one's death, recorded) That presence is what we call the soul. And many NDE's have shown the people who left their bodies whilst 'brain-dead', have heard doctor's during surgeries, etc. So, there is much proof , we just need to accept, and have Jesus in our lives! This is our real goal in life ;')
You make a very good point.I wonder the same thing. Why god doesnt make himself more clearly known. Doesn't mean he isnt real though. Atheism is very reckless in its assumption because you cannot guarantee your argument. Neither can believers. That's why I tend to support more agnostic thinking. They don't think they know it all and realize that they could be wrong one way or the other but aren't foolish enough to totally abandon either premise.
First of are you praying to God for wisdom and knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. Start with The Holy Bible read Jeremiah 29:11 a pray God will help you remember he loves you and believe that Jesus is the son of God. Amen
The list of why hasn't christian's (or any religion) alleged omnipotent, omnipresent, all-loving deity done anything in a sensible, intelligent, compassionate, and objectively, open and public, undeniable way is endless. The same list would be drawn for the Grand Octopus Deity (GOD) or any other omnipotent one. After all, if the christian deity was so interested in all people knowing and having a relationship with "him", then why has "he" made it so immesurably impossible for people to believe?
God does make it clear in Bible about what truth is, its just people do a good job of messing it up, myself included at one time. God knew sin would come into play even before Lucifer was created, but the only way to create a world truly free of sin is to make a world were we could make free choices and mess everyhthing up so that we could learn that His plan is perfect and serve him knowing His plan is perfect.
@blacktgr23 That's just absurd in every possible way. If this so-called christian deity wanted us to understand his plan was perfect as you say, it (he) obviously wouldn't need to allow for evil, suffering, and violence to come into existence. In fact, it is not necessary whatsoever to ensure that violence, suffering, or evil exists to be able for us to excersize free will. If your so-called deity actually existed and was omnipotent, this inconvenient truth wouldn't even require being discussed
@mmissinglink If He stopped us from thinking about wrong decisions that cause violence, suffering and other evil things and only allowed us to think in a positive manner wouldn't that be taking some of our free will away. Maybe I'm msunderstanding what your saying
@blacktiger2223 if a boy's parent knew that by allowing that boy to enter a room the boy would be horrendously brutalized, mercilessly raped for days, then killed and the parent allowed the boy to enter that room (the boy unaware of the danger) because the parent somehow and irrationally believes that free will is more important than the safety of the boy...what would you call that parent? A caring and loving parent? Do you still not get it blacktiger?
@mmissinglink Good point, a truly horrible thing for a parent to allow unless the parent knew the future events and the choices were this. The boy is stopped from entering the room escapes the scenario but is later kidnapped by a rapist, killed, brought back to life, repeat, over and over again for eternity. or allow the boy one horrible scenario, brought back to life and live forever without the thought of anything like this happening ever again. then the parent is a very loving parent.
@blacktiger2223 Sure blacktiger, and Gumby, Odin, Casper The Friendly Ghost, the Grand Octopus Deity (GOD), and whatever deity you believe in are having a party tomorrow at your house. That's essentially what you are expecting me to believe when you talk, "...brought back to life....for eternity....live forever...." Where's the evidence? The burden of proof lies with those making such irrational and far-fetched claims. Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
@mmissinglink I'm just explaining how the system works and why God allows these things to happen. This was the original question. This is why debates between a Christian and an athiest usually end up nowhere because in the end the only thing that matters is if you believe in supernatural or don't. If they don't then of course these things will never make any sense. Now if you would like to discuss why i believe in a universe that was created through supernatural means then ask.
@blacktiger2223 The system and the world works the way it does irrespective of your evidence-devoid, purely faith-based belief that some supernatural being (or anyone's faith-based belief in whatever supernatural being they want to believe in - whether that be Grand Octopus Deity (GOD), Thor, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster beings) has a role somewhere in this. if you would like to discuss why i believe in a universe that was created by the Grand Octopus Deity then please feel free to ask.
@blacktiger2223 Were you to actually have evidence, surely much of the world would know of it since it would be the first time ever in history that someone has evidence of what they claim is a deity. I guarantee you as true as the earth is not flat, you have none and will never provide any actual meaningful and verifiable evidence of the existence of what you believe to be your deity. Holding my breath for that would be an exercise of life-long futility so I won't wait for your vain efforts
@blacktiger2223 My profession is really not of any significance and I wouldn't be interested in what motivates you to have faith in something that doesn't exist. On the other hand, if you want to know why I believe in the Grand Octopus Deity (the real GOD) I can tell you all about it
@mmissinglink I was just curious about your profession nothing to do with topic, but I respect your decision not to know further information on the existence of God. If you change your mind just ask. Have a good day.
The reason that God doesn't say who the false prophets are and who the "true" ones are, and why he doesn't make himself known, is pretty obvious. If he was really there, you know what? There wouldn't be religion as we know it. Everybody would believe in him, with no exceptions.
You know what we call it when everyone knows the truth, besides good? Unanimity. Its absence in religion is a cornerstone of its demise.
God allows everything. He certainly didn't create religion. He hates it. You're supposed to learn the Bible, tell people about him & how his son died for them, & love one another. Follow his law which is the 10 commandments. There's nowhere in the Bible that he tells anyone to go to church. all religions are false & are offsprings of the catholic religion. God's name is Yahuah & his son, the messiah is Yahushuah. Religion didn't even get that right.
@xeena67 "God allows everything" including rape, disease, war, poverty, and one child dying of starvation every five seconds. What a useless god you worship.
@AngieAntiTheist If God hates religion so much, why are we supposed to learn from the bible? The bible is associated with religion, shouldn't god hate the bible as well?
this is a nice scapegoat. you can't ever argue so called christians cause they will alway rebuttle and say bullshit answers but if you want to prove him/her wrong, look at the persons life.
Have you ever masturbated xeena? cussed someone out? these things are natural things that never go away.
@xeena67 starvation, poverty, desease, war, corruption, american idol, rape, earthquakes, floodings, and so on. Why does god allow that? If thats the best god can do i´m not impressed, this is the resumee you expect from an office clerk with a bad attitude. for an allknowing allpowerful god he´s useless or he just doesn´t give a shit.
How can you worship someone who´s supposed to be allmighty and loving but in reality sucks so bad at his job?
"16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them." So the bible does tell you how to know a false prophet. Just ignore Matthew 7:1 and follow 16-20.
what i find weird is why the "message" has to be"interpretated" ... isn't it supposed to be an UNIVERSAL message ? meant to be read and understood by anyone , the cleaver and the dumb ? why do i have to "interpret" and "replace into context" when i read something that recommand to kill my neighbour because he is homo or he is working on saturday ? when jesus says "love thy neigbour", it's simple and easy to understand. no need to interpret it. so why should i put commas on more violent parts?
Young lady, be not deceived, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" Psalms 14:1. Suppose Jesus wasn't as detailed as we would have liked him to be in defining false prophets, yet he informs you in Matthew 7:15 to "beware of false prophets".>Matthew 7:16 He continues and says that "Ye shall know them by their fruits". Last year i wasn't a true believer in Christ. From his birth to his ressurection I was full of doubt. Today, I urge you to repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Jesus claimed to be the Truth. I'm not quite sure what else you need. I could send you all kinds of Scripture to back that up, but like Peter said, "There shall come in the last days scoffers walking after their own lusts and saying, where is the promise of His coming, for since the Fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from since the beginning of the Creation. For this, they are WILLINGLY IGNORANT. People(2 Peter chap 3) = dumb on purpose.(Greek)
If you're born with the Holy Spirit of God, you have discernment to know right from wrong according to the Word of God. Do you realize there are more than four thousand different types of religion? Jesus said "I am the way, truth and life." I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that these are the last days and the last generation written in the book of Dan, Ezek, Revelation, Jer, ect, ect, ect. The Deity of Christ cannot be denied by any means whatsoever. I'm just trying to figure out why you fell.
@Ezekielthirtyeight Because for 100s of years people have been just as convinced as you that they were living in the last generation, and they were WRONG. Because there are thousands of religions, and not one of them has any more evidence than the others. Because I worshiped God & put my faith in him & He didn't see fit to let me know I was in a cult. Because gods aren't REAL.
@AngieAntiTheist We know for a fact that this is the final generation due to the fact that Israel had to become a Nation again (May 14, 1948 rebirth of Israel) I'm am truly sorry if you have been led astray by man, but Jesus loves you and if you were the only person alive, He would die for you. Many other prophecies also tell us that the end of the age is here. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and He surly will. I too was a skeptic at one point, but Jesus is the only truth there is.
@Ezekielthirtyeight Ever heard the phrase "self-fulfilling prophecy"? Are you aware that ultra-orthodox Jews deny the state of Israel, because it was brought about by humans and not divinely? They think the current state of Israel is not the one prophesied about.
Do you really think god is more likely to bless me because you typed that? I'm pretty sure he doesn't read YouTube comments.
Religions are deception. Churches are deception. There is no God or Satan, only good, bad and evil, nature and four elements. We are created in DNA manipulation process by someone not so superior, if it was God as religious ppl claim and hes so superior and powerful he or she would never make mistake creating us as we are coz God is almighty and all knowledgeable and so compassionate wouldn't allow human race to suffer in this way. Otherwise, if exist God has to be a psychopath.
@ww3ideapuffintheair God has given us free will, and He does not do violence to our free will. God did not create us exactly in the state we currenty find ourselves in.
he created us perfect, and good. But our will was free, and not yet 'set'. like a clay pot before it goes into the kiln. If Adam and Eve didn't fall, life would be prefect and happy, with no chance of sorrow. But they fell, and sin entered the world.
Look up St. Padre Pio, and see what God makes of us when we let Him.
it's clear you just got decieved becouse you took a fallen , evil mans word for it. see bible doesn't say you must belong to a group or religion, CHRIST wouldn't be axcepted today, even then he was alone and home less.people are so mezmerized by this yeyo's, they don't even open thier bible 4 thm selfs. if you want truth go to the source. stop judging GOD by his creation. he calls us deprived. if you where in a cult i am sorry but you just exchanged one for another.to not believe is a belief.
@jhweh2007 "To not believe is a belief" and by that logic to not sing is a song? To not collect stamps is a hobby? Bald is a hair color? "Beliefs" belong to my past.
@AngieAntiTheist "To not believe is a belief" and by that logic to not sing is a song? To not collect stamps is a hobby? Bald is a hair color? "Beliefs" belong to my past."
I'm not pissing in my pants. I'm not knocking the crap out of a tyrannical theist.
Bald was a color & still is for the bald eagle. Bald originally meant white headed.
@jhweh2007 "to not believe is a belief." Is not collecting stamps a hobby?
"stop judging God by his creation" Then by what standard should we judge God? Frankly I think we shouldn't be judging God not because God should be beyond judgement, but because he almost certainly doesn't exist. (I don't judge the tooth fairy either.
So, what is the "narrow way" that Jesus talked about? Living the same way that Jesus lived (1 Jn. 2:6); bearing good fruit - not evangelism, but the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23); absolute obedience to the will of the Father (Matt. 7:21), and not just with the big commandments, but even the smallest commandments. Remember, Adam and Eve was thrown out of Eden because of their disobedience over a fruit. Imagine how small that commandment is.
@ezekiel333 Just so you know, nothing you've described is outside of the narrow way my childhood cult taught. In other words, Jesus didn't warn against the hyper restrictive mentally & phsyically abusive mind control cult I'm warning against. Jesus didn't prepare people for the harsh task masters, the Jim Jones and Bill Gothards of this world. Sorry but cults LOVE to be restrictive so your crappy criteria will probably land you in one someday.
@AngieAntiTheist The difference between you and me, is I will not let myself be deceived by man, for man heart is wicked by nature. This is like looking back at myself just a very short time ago. I didn't care about the things of God because I thought it was "man made". Prophecy speaks for itself and whether you believe it or not, this world is going to see the worst disasters since the beginning of the creation (7 year Tribulation period) I am here if you need facts based on Gods Word.
@Ezekielthirtyeight Amen, I do love the fact that we all have access to the Word of God for claroty and understanding. It's good to see anothers faith. Sadly, men under the influences of evil do try to give God a bad name. Thankfully the bible reflects the eternally solid foundation for all understanding! Romans16:17-19 God bless!
Characteristics of a false prophets: they look just like a sheep (Matt. 7:15a). They are always hungry (7:15b), meaning, they are not satisfied with anything. They are always wanting & desiring, whether it be food, clothing, money, material things, etc. A true sheep being shepherded by the Lord is he/she desires nothing (Ps. 23:1). They can be known by their characters (Matt. 7:20), and not by their gifts (v. 22).
And the broad way is this: you just have to go to church once a week, give 10% of your income, sing a few songs on Sunday, confess the sins that you've committed, ask God to come into your heart, and you will be saved. People do all these things thinking they are saved, but they are not. Jesus spoke of a "narrow way." Do these things sound like they are narrow way? If it's the narrow way, it will lead to life? Do these things sound like they lead to life? No! It's all RELIGION!
Our Lord was perfectly obedient to His Father, and he taught total obedience to the Father's Will.
He said to His Apostles that whoever despised them, despised Him, and the One Who sent Him. The Apostles are Catholic Bishops (Historical fact - look it up). The successors of the Apostles must be obeyed. But most people are proud and disobedient, and will not obey, like Lucifer. That is why most people are not saved.
In response to your video, Jesus DID explain who the false prophets were. The only reason why many didn't understand (myself included at one time) was because we don't read the Bible carefully. Jesus spoke of a narrow way that few will find (Matt. 7:14). And in the next verse, He said, "beware of the false prophets" (v. 15). So, the false prophets are the ones who will say, "it's the broad way that leads to life."
'Cause....we are minds lured into a black hole and just enough of our previous self is left in order for the dynamic to continue. What I mean is that just enough human reality exists in order to keep us going enough to continue feeding the black hole being we are all inside of. So the concept of God is only a feign--by God--a carrot and stick antic running our souls around in circles in the black hole being. God never intended his little critters to know the truth-only to stay in the crockpot.
@angieantitheist I have read real science books by real scientists. I am in awe of the wonders that God has made. Reading science books is not going to convert me to your anti religion. I am just amazed that athiests can read science books and then say there is no God. Where is the sign that there is a God? Could it be the billions upon billions of nano scale machines that all have to work together inorder for us to live? No we came from random chance over billions of trillions of zililons
@angieantitheist Whom do you believe will not lie to you? A fellow with a Ph D who has everything to loose by even mentioning intellegent design or a poor homeless guy who lived several thousand years ago. I think you should reevaluate your standard of evidence.
@AngieAntiTheist Realy there are many types of authority. You don't believe in the intellectual authority of those with ph.d's that perform scientific research? I do but it is tempered with the knowledge that they are men and women and they have their own agenda's.
@andrewprofit Go read a real science book by a real scientist (not a creationist.) Go read a real history book by a real historian (not a Christian reconstructionist.) Fuck just spend a few hours on Wikipedia. Go educate yourself. I'm not doing it for you, unless you feel like paying me a fucking tutoring rate.
@angieantitheist I am a creationists but I believe in the true portions of evolution. God may add creatures from time to time and there are mutations and change between each generation this accounts for the variations of the species. The Fossil record does not support Darwin's theory of evolution as you probable know. I have a first hand account of creation in the bible from the creator and I believe his testimony even if it was given thousands of years ago to a poor dirty homeless guy.
@angieantitheist 42 The heavenly father is preparing a people for his son Jesus to spend eternity with. Simultainiously, the father is removing 1/3rd of the angels from his presence. The Father chooses those people he wants for Jesus. Everything is used to perfect the nature of those he chooses. As a sculpter chips away at marble some marble falls to the floor. Should the sculpter stop? Is the sculpture worth the price? The marble if it could think says NOOO. Everything else says hell ya.
Angie, nicely done. Your questions are unanswerable by any theist whether Moslem, Christian, Mormon or Jew. I also thought the "warnings" with no criteria was a nice touch. Keep up the good work.
Dr. Darrel Ray, author of The God Virus: How Religion Infects Our Lives and Culture
Hey Angie......I have a nice surprise for you! It won't cost you one thin dime to take this FREE On-line course......If YOU REALLY want to know about God the challenge is now in your ball court......I'll be willing to bet you won't take the course because you know what? You really don't want to know about God you just want to spend your free time shooting your mouth off on YOU TUBE to get your 15 minutes of fame..... Put your money where your mouth is.. the course is FREE...
@Scooterpop1 Free course? Okay. I'll sign up. You do know you seem more stupid everytime you make a "guarantee" or "challenge" right? I study the Bible, and have for years. Even though I'm an atheist, I still consider going to seminary (for better antittheistic arguments.)
You don't GET it. Your Bible isn't a magic book and it doesn't contain revealed truth. It's a mixture of history, genealogy, fables and myths. Nothing more impressive or divine than that.
Well Angie.....it is very clear....if you take a theology course you will get the answers you are seeking......God is NOT a bad teacher...there is advice and instruction to judge a prophet...by their fruits you shall know them...and you will know them by putting your head in a Bible and being committed to learning...I challenge you to put all things aside for 3 months ...go to... bible.org...and search for: the theology program...it will change your life...are you up to the challenge?
@Scooterpop1 I'd never put all things aside for the Bible (I'm a mother and an activist before I'm anything else) but hey, if you wanna pay for my theology course I'll take you up on it. Being REVEREND Angie the Anti-Theist actually sounds kinda nice.
Are you up to the challenge of paying for it? Because I am piss poor & have better things that need money spent on them (like utilities!)
@AdobExperts Dolphins don't have opposable thumbs either. And many species pass on knowledge from elders to young, so you're wrong on that, too. You do realize we share common ancestry with every OTHER animal on the planet? I say other because we're animals, too. May god b less.
they just need read their bible, all the warnings about false prophets are in there. i have talked to many practicing christians who haven't even read it once, it is a sad state of affairs.
I know this is off topic, but how come in many of your videos you are looking up at the camera? It sort of makes you look like a child talking to an adult, whereas if the camera was at your eye level it would look like you were talking to someone else at their level.
Continued - But I have reached the stand that i have on several scientific topics, and all theological doctrines, through personal studies and formal studies as well as personal research and I'm completely satisifed with the conclusions that I have come to, and if you have done the same, then I respect you for that, and I'm happy for you.If you ever want to have a discourse on any Bible topics, please feel free to PM me, and we can at least be civil and possibly friends :) ~Lee
It would be interesting to know what science you have intensive knowledge of. As theology has nothing to do with science, and many things are considered Pseudoscience (inaccurate, Pseudo meaning false or pretending) such as Creation Science, and Biblical Scientific Foreknowledge and Koranic Scientific Foreknowledge (those who state that the Bible and/or Qu'ran makes statements that Science only discovers hundreds to thousands of years later).
@DanielxMorningstar - I hold no degrees in Science only a masters in Theology. However - I have (In the past) worked with several men who were, one was a Biologist & one a Geologist, both were renown in their field of study and both were Christians and believed in creation. Matter of fact, many scientist through the years, believed in a creator -while understanding that evolution (certian types -micro evolution) doesn't define creation, it helps explains our progression, since Genesis 1:1
Actually the majority of scientists are Atheists, some of them believe in a god, but none of them in the literal Creation myth. Genesis states the earth is young. However, evolution (being a fact) shows the earth to be far, far older then what Genesis states. True evolution makes no comment on a god, any god, but it is incompatible, with any creation myth.
@DanielxMorningstar -Creationist that are NOT young earth creationist would strongly disagree. Have you ever heard of the Gap theory, in Genesus 1 ? If not, you should read up on it, many believe it promotes the idea that the earth & the universe, is billions of years old, and has many supporting sciptures throughout the Bible that backs the inference of this theory. Again, certain aspects of evolutionamd scientific finds aree facts, but not all -even they will admit it's not an exact science!
It's still Pseudoscience (false/pretend Science) Evolution has nothing to do with the universe, that is Cosmology. And saying that the Bible backs Scientific claims, or predicts them is also Pseudoscience, by that it has no evidence to actually back it up. In fact, the bible shows the young earth creationism, for the same bible to support another claim, shows an inconsistency.
@AdobExperts we aren't the only intelligent creatures on the earth. Read up on other apes and dolphins. Trying to use a non-fact (we're the only smart ones) as the basis of your argument = FAIL
and he gave Noah the plans to build an ark for all their safety. But the people mocked his message and laughed at him, right up until the drops of rain started to fall, and the door of the ark had been shut. Had those parents listen to God (Through Noah's warnings) they could have saved themsleves abd their children, it wasn't God's fault those children drowned, it was the unbelieving and rebellious parents, that caused the death of their own children through disobedience, and it still happens !
@mykidsdad36 There is no geological or archeological evidence of a global flood like described in the Genesis story of Noah. Just like there's no evidence for Thor or Odin or Zeus stories. Because none of them are true.
Actually there is plenty of evidence for a global flood - case in point, One of the strongest pieces of evidence for a worldwide flood is the existence of what Rupke termed "polystrate fossils." Such fossils are found all over the world. They usually consist of fossil trees that were buried upright, and which often traverse multiple layers of strata such as sandstone, limestone, shale, and even coal beds. They range in size from small rootlets to trees over 80 feet long. These are Facts!!
@mykidsdad36 Sorry, but the FACTS are no one but a few crazy nutters actually believes in a literal Noah & global flood. Facts are not on your side. (For a reason. Your side is nuts.)
@AngieAntiTheist - If thats the way you feel (my side is nuts) then thats your right, I believe strongly in freedom of Speech and Belief for ALL. However, i was not raised a christian, nor were my parents christians, and I have worked along side several very knowledgable and talented scientist (One was a great christian) I have studied these issues for my self ( formally for 6 years - masters in theology - still have 2 years before I can submit a dissertation for a Ph.d in Thelology) Continued
Also God gives man a free will - to make decision, those decisions have consequences, thats why it's so important to know the Lord (Salvation -personal relationship) and he will lead & guide you in all truth, by his Spirit, through his Holy Word (The KJV Bible) Many times people blame God, for things that are not his fault. Example a lady ask me one day, why did God kill innocent children in the flood. I ask her had she ever considered, that God warned the whole world through Noah's preaching -
@mykidsdad36 Actually people have free will to a certain degree, Romans 8:29-30 God chooses those for salvation, predestined...so consider yourself blessed and thankful if you are truly born again that you will escape the Wrath to come...
God in his word, Does reveal the traits and works of false prophets, that that teach doctrines contrary to God's Word, are not to be trusted or follwed. Instead of blaming God, the real responsibility ( in your case) is Your Parents - that God gave the responsibilty to teach & train up their children,in the RIGHT WAY and in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Sadly many children today and in the past, have suffered many injustices because of the decisions of their parents. Continue
The issue with that is what God saves you from is himself. He knows everything he will do before he does it, and he knows what we will do. So he created us knowing everything we will do in the future, and knew this before he created us, but did nothing to change it. And he pretty much purposely let us make these bad decisions, knowing we will, and setting us up for it, then punishing us for them unless we give in to him.
Enjoyed this video and i am a christian. The world is always asking Why?Why?Why?
most of the "christian" material that we get on TV here is absolutely not christian, at all. High powered preaching, mighty "results" and money/prosperity talked about , non-stop. All of this is not Bible-based.
Paul wrote to the early church to warn that people would be selective in what they want to hear (now see) Preaching the gospel according to the bible would just not be popular, or profitable
We allow cult leaders to thrive, when WE GIVE THEM power over us. God does make the truth clear to everyone (in His Word). Read the Old Testament as well as the New. The test of a true prophet of God is that EVERYTHING they tell us "God Said" comes true. EVERYTHING. In the old Testament, if any one thing a prophet said (that God supposedly told them to say) didn't come true, they were stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)
@celeste1053 You do realize I was *raised* in a cult, so I didn't "GIVE" power to anyone. I was born already trapped, like millions of other children today being brainwashed into their parents religion.
@AngieAntiTheist You know what Angie? I was in a cult for 10 years! and wanted to find the truth! Seek and ye shall find, ask and it shall be given...I found the truth... Get your head into the Word of God...Do you have to be hit up side the head with a 2 by 4? Come on Angie...God keeps telling you...get with it...
If you read the book and NOT, repeat, NOT listen to men, men in buildings, etc. Scripture is crystal clear. But if one listens to men, then one falls off the path. It is as simple as that. Next, please study hell, for that is returning to the clay, not a pit of fire like those men in churches teach, to continue to get your money. Did you know scripture clearly states "if a man takes a penny for doing God's work, that man is NOT of God". Pretty simple item to spot a truther over a liar.
@Skindoggiedog "Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before," Bokonon tells us. "He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way." - Vonnegut
@Skindoggiedog "Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before," Bokonon tells us. "He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way." - Vonnegut
@onimotoko "I am NOT with a capitol T, an animal."
Actually, yes, you are. Man is an animal, same as lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my. And let's get this straight, man created god, with a small g, in his own image, his misogynistic, bigoted, intolerant, violent image.
@NotTooObvious You sound like just as much of a proselytizer as you claim Christians to be. No I don't believe in easter bunnies, but I do believe in God. Why do you have a problem with this? Why don't you attend to some hindus or something? They have a lot a gods, and their religion is a lot more strict than Christianity. Luckily for me, I ain't religious, just a believer in the one true God.
You own hostility proves my point because Jesus said that I would be persecuted for him.
@onimotoko - "You own hostility proves my point because Jesus said that I would be persecuted for him.:
You are in, what some might call, a no-lose situation. Anything that goes against what you believe is simply a test, anything that seems to support your beliefs is proof. How can you possibly lose?
This is the idiotic old 'god loves me and will save me if I need it, but if not it's just a part of his plan'.
So perhaps National Geographic is your God? I'm not sure I understand. You claim to follow no God, and yet your reverence to mans claims seems to prove otherwise.
All hail NatGeo the creator of the universe! That is a sound plan I suppose, after all people just naturally listen to the words of others. But you must remember that they are human and by that measure, fallible.
@onimotoko Oh wow you are so wise. Here I thought I was an atheist because I know myself & my own mind, but here YOU are with your complete ignorance telling me what I couldn't see. Wow, I've been so blind. I Am a theist! Oh wait, no, still an atheist - just sarcastic as hell.
Still your hostility shows your own disbelief in your thinking. You don't actually trust your own words, enough to were you believe they must be defended and thus they are not truly 100%. In other words, your own intolerance toward Judeo/Christian thought is a threat to your position and your defense. You profess that you are right, but if that were true, then why do you even ask these questions in the first place? Sarcasm will not save your defense as it is merely feinting.

@onimotoko You don't have to break one ankle to know the other one is fine. Your logic is bullshit and if your Jesus really wanted me to go thru all the suffering I did just so I would "turn to him" he's a dick (and a stupid one at that, as I was a fervent believer as a child.)
We, because we chose to sin,(with our great and powerful logic), have made an environment that constitutes a steady need for human beings to chose between right and wrong. Some chose to do good, others evil, it's all a choice, and if the world is in the state it's in it is because humans have free will. However if we didn't have free will, then we would just be zombies. He does say that he will tell us why he has done all these things in the end. Until then, keep searching.
@onimotoko Do you believe you'll have free will in heaven? If so, does that mean you can sin in heaven or that god could create freewill w/o allowing so much suffering? Or if we don't have capacity to sin in heaven, will we be zombies then? Your apologetics = fail
@onimotoko Your god knows EVERYTHING, right? So he knows your mind intimately and can trivially predict the trajectory of your entire life. WITH an all knowing god there is no free will. It is all predestined. Read Psalms 139:16
When your underling philosophy is faith is a virtue and critical thinking is a vice it is only a matter of luck if you don't get fleeced. They don't call them shepherds for nothing.
Here's an answer I got a while back to "if god wants us to worship him, why doesn't he just show up". The reason why is, god wants us to believe in him, not "know" he's real.
if we "know" he's real, there will be no "leap of faith" in believing, the point is, to believe, to take the risk of being wrong. Why? I don't know.
Sure another explanation could be "what god? there is no god", but I prefere a univ' with an underlining intelligance, and with a "bigger picture".
@Angie You know that all gods even the ones from days gone bye, like Zeus etc. all needed believers to have faith. Why? Because they were creations of man and man does not have the "power" of an imaginary god where he can manifest this god for people to witness. Men tried by making idols for others to worship, however the others got wise, just as you have gotten wise to the fact that all gods are man made. You are a smart young woman, unfortunately many just are not as smart as you.....Peace
now you are getting into "worship", I never said the I "warship", I just have a belife, and act accordingly.
Not to get too deep into it, I belive that good things happen to good people, not because god makes it so, but because that's the way the univ' works (throw something up, and it comes down, not an act of god).
But by something good, you also get "points" and these let you "ask" the univ' for something, and the more points you have, the more likly the univ' will grant your wish.
@eyallev, I beg to disagree, when you say the universe will grant your wish, and you get points. Your thinking is no different than that of theists, because you are putting a "spirit"(the universe) in gods place, with the hope of reward. Your reasoning is no less dogmatic than other religions. You do not need any "universal spirit" to have a sense of oneness with the universe, and you can do so without any dogma.
So what about 1-year-old girls in Africa who are raped by superstitious HIV + men who think sex w/a virgin cures AIDS? What on earth could those little girls have done to deserve such a horrible thing? Oh wait - they didn't. Life ISN'T fair - nature isn't fair. But humanity can be, if we choose to be. God won't feed starving kids (because he's not real) but we can.
First, I never said I was not a theist, I do believe in a "god" (an overall, underlining intellagance in the univ' as a whole), just not a "personal" god that relly cares if you go to church or not.
I believe that the univ' IS fair, it might not be fair for you, right now, it might be because you want more than you are supose to get, and it maybe because you'll get the "good stuff" latter.
I don't know HOW the fairness works, I just believe that it does.
I realize that someone saying "it's all fair" kinda sounds bad for someone who just had a big dose of "unfairness" come his way, the only thing I can offer in comfart for such people is, keep your eyes open, see the signs, and you will find your share of good luck.
@eyallev - That's complete & utter bullshit. Some people have blessed white, middle class able-bodied American, Canadian or European/Australian lives. And other people are born into poverty & starvation, riddled with disease & no access to clean drinking water - at constant risk of amputation, murder, & rape.
You think they should just keep their eyes open for the good luck that's gonna come around?
@eyallev (pt 2) Open your eyes. We are LUCKY that we can get by with a good work ethic and ingenuity in this country. When you don't have basic needs met, it's harder to improve your lot in life. Being a good person doesn't mean your life will be good. My grandmother killed multiple children thru her teachings & is living in a nice ALF. We don't always get justice or fairness but we should try for them in the here & now instead of expecting god/universe to do anything to help people.
I wrote a reply, but youtube "ate" it (maybe it's a sign from the univ' that I should stop). All I wanted to say is that you don't need money to be happy, and you might be suprised, but many people who live in "poverty & starvation, riddled with disease & no access to clean drinking water " ARE happy.
You might think it's sad, but it's true. You can be happy with a lot less of what you have.
I'm not saying "be good, and you'll get stuff", I'm just say that it can help you out.
@Eyallev - I know people can be happy in appalling conditions. I recommend Angelina Jolie's book on the volunteer work she does for the UNHCR working with refugees. We weren't talking about happiness - we were talking about fair. Life isn't fair - period.
There are some who actually believe they can do the stuff. I know I thought I could heal people with my prayers when I was a kid, & all the adults around me acted like it was true. Of course, then I walked with a cane all through high school, so I didn't have much faith in faith healing after that.
one thing i found out is people trick themselves into thinking they have powers. not only with faith healing but psychic powers too. the mind can fool itself
@TUM Oh yeah I thought I could read people, if not actually tarot & I thought I had psychic dreams, lol. We are easily deluded, which is why objectivity & naturalism are so soothing.
Why does god allow bad things to happen? Keep in mind, god purposely makes bad things happen to test you. Kind of like if a girl was in love with me, and I kept hitting her in the face and asking her if she still loves me after each time... and if she ever says no then I lock her in my basement with my psychotic son who will torture her because he hates me (big surprise). After that, allowing bad things to happen is pretty much expected and logical behavior for god.
If God made this a test then hes only setting himself up for his own failure. Using your metaphor, if you continue to hit a girl in the face, would you really expect her to love you? Do you expect her to keep coming back? To get on her knees and beg for the beating to be better? I think this isn't a test, I mean if he wanted to know who would be damned or not cant he just look into the future or something? Cause hes god isn't he?

After all, if the christian deity was so interested in all people knowing and having a relationship with "him", then why has "he" made it so immesurably impossible for people to believe?
mmissinglink 7 months ago
@mmissinglink God is also omniincompetent.
Strangerinasland 7 months ago
God does make it clear in Bible about what truth is, its just people do a good job of messing it up, myself included at one time. God knew sin would come into play even before Lucifer was created, but the only way to create a world truly free of sin is to make a world were we could make free choices and mess everyhthing up so that we could learn that His plan is perfect and serve him knowing His plan is perfect.
blacktiger2223 7 months ago
@blacktgr23 That's just absurd in every possible way. If this so-called christian deity wanted us to understand his plan was perfect as you say, it (he) obviously wouldn't need to allow for evil, suffering, and violence to come into existence. In fact, it is not necessary whatsoever to ensure that violence, suffering, or evil exists to be able for us to excersize free will. If your so-called deity actually existed and was omnipotent, this inconvenient truth wouldn't even require being discussed
mmissinglink 7 months ago
@mmissinglink If He stopped us from thinking about wrong decisions that cause violence, suffering and other evil things and only allowed us to think in a positive manner wouldn't that be taking some of our free will away. Maybe I'm msunderstanding what your saying
blacktiger2223 7 months ago
@blacktiger2223 if a boy's parent knew that by allowing that boy to enter a room the boy would be horrendously brutalized, mercilessly raped for days, then killed and the parent allowed the boy to enter that room (the boy unaware of the danger) because the parent somehow and irrationally believes that free will is more important than the safety of the boy...what would you call that parent? A caring and loving parent? Do you still not get it blacktiger?
mmissinglink 7 months ago
@mmissinglink Good point, a truly horrible thing for a parent to allow unless the parent knew the future events and the choices were this. The boy is stopped from entering the room escapes the scenario but is later kidnapped by a rapist, killed, brought back to life, repeat, over and over again for eternity. or allow the boy one horrible scenario, brought back to life and live forever without the thought of anything like this happening ever again. then the parent is a very loving parent.
blacktiger2223 7 months ago
@blacktiger2223 Sure blacktiger, and Gumby, Odin, Casper The Friendly Ghost, the Grand Octopus Deity (GOD), and whatever deity you believe in are having a party tomorrow at your house. That's essentially what you are expecting me to believe when you talk, "...brought back to life....for eternity....live forever...." Where's the evidence? The burden of proof lies with those making such irrational and far-fetched claims. Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
mmissinglink 7 months ago
@mmissinglink I'm just explaining how the system works and why God allows these things to happen. This was the original question. This is why debates between a Christian and an athiest usually end up nowhere because in the end the only thing that matters is if you believe in supernatural or don't. If they don't then of course these things will never make any sense. Now if you would like to discuss why i believe in a universe that was created through supernatural means then ask.
blacktiger2223 7 months ago
@blacktiger2223 The system and the world works the way it does irrespective of your evidence-devoid, purely faith-based belief that some supernatural being (or anyone's faith-based belief in whatever supernatural being they want to believe in - whether that be Grand Octopus Deity (GOD), Thor, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster beings) has a role somewhere in this. if you would like to discuss why i believe in a universe that was created by the Grand Octopus Deity then please feel free to ask.
mmissinglink 7 months ago
@mmissinglink How do you know my evidence is devoid yet you dont even know what it is yet.
blacktiger2223 7 months ago
@blacktiger2223 Were you to actually have evidence, surely much of the world would know of it since it would be the first time ever in history that someone has evidence of what they claim is a deity. I guarantee you as true as the earth is not flat, you have none and will never provide any actual meaningful and verifiable evidence of the existence of what you believe to be your deity. Holding my breath for that would be an exercise of life-long futility so I won't wait for your vain efforts

KillerHill06 10 months ago
God allows everything. He certainly didn't create religion. He hates it. You're supposed to learn the Bible, tell people about him & how his son died for them, & love one another. Follow his law which is the 10 commandments. There's nowhere in the Bible that he tells anyone to go to church. all religions are false & are offsprings of the catholic religion. God's name is Yahuah & his son, the messiah is Yahushuah. Religion didn't even get that right.

Imagine how small that commandment is.
ezekiel333 1 year ago
@ezekiel333 Just so you know, nothing you've described is outside of the narrow way my childhood cult taught. In other words, Jesus didn't warn against the hyper restrictive mentally & phsyically abusive mind control cult I'm warning against. Jesus didn't prepare people for the harsh task masters, the Jim Jones and Bill Gothards of this world. Sorry but cults LOVE to be restrictive so your crappy criteria will probably land you in one someday.

ezekiel333 1 year ago
And the broad way is this: you just have to go to church once a week, give 10% of your income, sing a few songs on Sunday, confess the sins that you've committed, ask God to come into your heart, and you will be saved. People do all these things thinking they are saved, but they are not. Jesus spoke of a "narrow way." Do these things sound like they are narrow way? If it's the narrow way, it will lead to life? Do these things sound like they lead to life? No! It's all RELIGION!
ezekiel333 1 year ago
@ezekiel333
The way is narrow, because it requires obedience.
That is why most people are not saved.
sharbel23 1 year ago

Scooterpop1 1 year ago
@Scooterpop1 Free course? Okay. I'll sign up. You do know you seem more stupid everytime you make a "guarantee" or "challenge" right? I study the Bible, and have for years. Even though I'm an atheist, I still consider going to seminary (for better antittheistic arguments.)
You don't GET it. Your Bible isn't a magic book and it doesn't contain revealed truth. It's a mixture of history, genealogy, fables and myths. Nothing more impressive or divine than that.
AngieAntiTheist 1 year ago
Well Angie.....it is very clear....if you take a theology course you will get the answers you are seeking......God is NOT a bad teacher...there is advice and instruction to judge a prophet...by their fruits you shall know them...and you will know them by putting your head in a Bible and being committed to learning...I challenge you to put all things aside for 3 months ...go to... bible.org...and search for: the theology program...it will change your life...are you up to the challenge?
Scooterpop1 1 year ago
@Scooterpop1 I'd never put all things aside for the Bible (I'm a mother and an activist before I'm anything else) but hey, if you wanna pay for my theology course I'll take you up on it. Being REVEREND Angie the Anti-Theist actually sounds kinda nice.
Are you up to the challenge of paying for it? Because I am piss poor & have better things that need money spent on them (like utilities!)

@mykidsdad36
DanielxMorningstar 1 year ago
@DanielxMorningstar - I hold no degrees in Science only a masters in Theology. However - I have (In the past) worked with several men who were, one was a Biologist & one a Geologist, both were renown in their field of study and both were Christians and believed in creation. Matter of fact, many scientist through the years, believed in a creator -while understanding that evolution (certian types -micro evolution) doesn't define creation, it helps explains our progression, since Genesis 1:1
mykidsdad36 1 year ago
@mykidsdad36
DanielxMorningstar 1 year ago
@DanielxMorningstar -Creationist that are NOT young earth creationist would strongly disagree. Have you ever heard of the Gap theory, in Genesus 1 ? If not, you should read up on it, many believe it promotes the idea that the earth & the universe, is billions of years old, and has many supporting sciptures throughout the Bible that backs the inference of this theory. Again, certain aspects of evolutionamd scientific finds aree facts, but not all -even they will admit it's not an exact science!
mykidsdad36 1 year ago
@mykidsdad36
It's still Pseudoscience (false/pretend Science) Evolution has nothing to do with the universe, that is Cosmology. And saying that the Bible backs Scientific claims, or predicts them is also Pseudoscience, by that it has no evidence to actually back it up. In fact, the bible shows the young earth creationism, for the same bible to support another claim, shows an inconsistency.

and he gave Noah the plans to build an ark for all their safety. But the people mocked his message and laughed at him, right up until the drops of rain started to fall, and the door of the ark had been shut. Had those parents listen to God (Through Noah's warnings) they could have saved themsleves abd their children, it wasn't God's fault those children drowned, it was the unbelieving and rebellious parents, that caused the death of their own children through disobedience, and it still happens !
mykidsdad36 1 year ago
@mykidsdad36 There is no geological or archeological evidence of a global flood like described in the Genesis story of Noah. Just like there's no evidence for Thor or Odin or Zeus stories. Because none of them are true.
AngieAntiTheist 1 year ago 2
Actually there is plenty of evidence for a global flood - case in point, One of the strongest pieces of evidence for a worldwide flood is the existence of what Rupke termed "polystrate fossils." Such fossils are found all over the world. They usually consist of fossil trees that were buried upright, and which often traverse multiple layers of strata such as sandstone, limestone, shale, and even coal beds. They range in size from small rootlets to trees over 80 feet long. These are Facts!!

I ask her had she ever considered, that God warned the whole world through Noah's preaching -
mykidsdad36 1 year ago
@mykidsdad36 Actually people have free will to a certain degree, Romans 8:29-30 God chooses those for salvation, predestined...so consider yourself blessed and thankful if you are truly born again that you will escape the Wrath to come...
Scooterpop1 1 year ago
God in his word, Does reveal the traits and works of false prophets, that that teach doctrines contrary to God's Word, are not to be trusted or follwed. Instead of blaming God, the real responsibility ( in your case) is Your Parents - that God gave the responsibilty to teach & train up their children,in the RIGHT WAY and in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Sadly many children today and in the past, have suffered many injustices because of the decisions of their parents. Continue
mykidsdad36 1 year ago
@mykidsdad36
The issue with that is what God saves you from is himself. He knows everything he will do before he does it, and he knows what we will do. So he created us knowing everything we will do in the future, and knew this before he created us, but did nothing to change it. And he pretty much purposely let us make these bad decisions, knowing we will, and setting us up for it, then punishing us for them unless we give in to him.

hi Angie,
Enjoyed this video and i am a christian. The world is always asking Why?Why?Why?
most of the "christian" material that we get on TV here is absolutely not christian, at all. High powered preaching, mighty "results" and money/prosperity talked about , non-stop. All of this is not Bible-based.
Paul wrote to the early church to warn that people would be selective in what they want to hear (now see) Preaching the gospel according to the bible would just not be popular, or profitable
robertg1965 1 year ago
We allow cult leaders to thrive, when WE GIVE THEM power over us. God does make the truth clear to everyone (in His Word). Read the Old Testament as well as the New. The test of a true prophet of God is that EVERYTHING they tell us "God Said" comes true. EVERYTHING. In the old Testament, if any one thing a prophet said (that God supposedly told them to say) didn't come true, they were stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

AngieAntiTheist 1 year ago
We, because we chose to sin,(with our great and powerful logic), have made an environment that constitutes a steady need for human beings to chose between right and wrong. Some chose to do good, others evil, it's all a choice, and if the world is in the state it's in it is because humans have free will. However if we didn't have free will, then we would just be zombies. He does say that he will tell us why he has done all these things in the end. Until then, keep searching.
onimotoko 1 year ago
@onimotoko Do you believe you'll have free will in heaven? If so, does that mean you can sin in heaven or that god could create freewill w/o allowing so much suffering? Or if we don't have capacity to sin in heaven, will we be zombies then? Your apologetics = fail
AngieAntiTheist 1 year ago 2
Without Satan to introduce evil to mankind we won't even know sin exists. Adam and Eve had the option to, but they couldn't do what they didn't know.

Sure another explanation could be "what god? there is no god", but I prefere a univ' with an underlining intelligance, and with a "bigger picture".
eyallev 2 years ago
Why would you want to worship a god who is hidden, unknowable, and capricious?
Why would you prefer a universe with a "bigger picture" & what does that mean to you?
AngieAntiTheist 2 years ago
@Angie You know that all gods even the ones from days gone bye, like Zeus etc. all needed believers to have faith. Why? Because they were creations of man and man does not have the "power" of an imaginary god where he can manifest this god for people to witness. Men tried by making idols for others to worship, however the others got wise, just as you have gotten wise to the fact that all gods are man made. You are a smart young woman, unfortunately many just are not as smart as you.....Peace
PhysicsGuerrilla 2 years ago
now you are getting into "worship", I never said the I "warship", I just have a belife, and act accordingly.
Not to get too deep into it, I belive that good things happen to good people, not because god makes it so, but because that's the way the univ' works (throw something up, and it comes down, not an act of god).
But by something good, you also get "points" and these let you "ask" the univ' for something, and the more points you have, the more likly the univ' will grant your wish.
eyallev 2 years ago
@eyallev, I beg to disagree, when you say the universe will grant your wish, and you get points. Your thinking is no different than that of theists, because you are putting a "spirit"(the universe) in gods place, with the hope of reward. Your reasoning is no less dogmatic than other religions. You do not need any "universal spirit" to have a sense of oneness with the universe, and you can do so without any dogma.
PhysicsGuerrilla 2 years ago
So what about 1-year-old girls in Africa who are raped by superstitious HIV + men who think sex w/a virgin cures AIDS? What on earth could those little girls have done to deserve such a horrible thing? Oh wait - they didn't. Life ISN'T fair - nature isn't fair. But humanity can be, if we choose to be. God won't feed starving kids (because he's not real) but we can.
AngieAntiTheist 2 years ago
@physicsGuerrilla and Angi.
I don't know HOW the fairness works, I just believe that it does.
eyallev 2 years ago
I realize that someone saying "it's all fair" kinda sounds bad for someone who just had a big dose of "unfairness" come his way, the only thing I can offer in comfart for such people is, keep your eyes open, see the signs, and you will find your share of good luck.
eyallev 2 years ago
@eyallev - That's complete & utter bullshit. Some people have blessed white, middle class able-bodied American, Canadian or European/Australian lives. And other people are born into poverty & starvation, riddled with disease & no access to clean drinking water - at constant risk of amputation, murder, & rape.
You think they should just keep their eyes open for the good luck that's gonna come around?
AngieAntiTheist 2 years ago
@eyallev (pt 2) Open your eyes. We are LUCKY that we can get by with a good work ethic and ingenuity in this country. When you don't have basic needs met, it's harder to improve your lot in life. Being a good person doesn't mean your life will be good. My grandmother killed multiple children thru her teachings & is living in a nice ALF. We don't always get justice or fairness but we should try for them in the here & now instead of expecting god/universe to do anything to help people.
AngieAntiTheist 2 years ago
I wrote a reply, but youtube "ate" it (maybe it's a sign from the univ' that I should stop). All I wanted to say is that you don't need money to be happy, and you might be suprised, but many people who live in "poverty & starvation, riddled with disease & no access to clean drinking water " ARE happy.
You might think it's sad, but it's true. You can be happy with a lot less of what you have.
I'm not saying "be good, and you'll get stuff", I'm just say that it can help you out.
eyallev 2 years ago
@Eyallev - I know people can be happy in appalling conditions. I recommend Angelina Jolie's book on the volunteer work she does for the UNHCR working with refugees. We weren't talking about happiness - we were talking about fair. Life isn't fair - period.
AngieAntiTheist 2 years ago
What is this "fair"ness that you seek? is a rock fair? are the seas fair? if you jump of a building, and hit the ground, is the ground fair?
What I mean by fair is that goodness is rewarded (by happyness, and pride), and evil is punished (by sadness, and regrate).
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorow, but ppl will get what's coming to them.
That's what I belive
