lol the "french pumping effect" lol ^^ for me it's more italian with benny bennasy style but every electro musician in the world say it's dapht punk that intronise that side chain compression process, im not realy sure cause im a french electro musician who listen and play a lot of electro music since 1994.
@pietervochten Yes I use the exact same method on the group outs of my native instruments maschine. Simply a sawtooth applied to the DCA output of the channel you want to "pump".
Sounds like StereoLab great work! and you only used two instruments awesome! ,you can compile songs easily like that. with the Korg ER1 and the Nord Micro Modular. awesome keep up the great works of art. ---Dave---":-)
hi there, so is that a guitar effects pedal in this set up? if so, what would a distortion pedal do in line with a KORG Electribe R mkII? i've just bought one and dont really know anything about them?!?
he doesn't answer, mainly due to his lack of english knowledge, remember he is Japanese, so he is using tools such as babelfish to translate his descriptions.
Hey does the modular have the same sound engine as the nord lead series? i really want a nord lead but i think i'll probably just go with this if its the same sounds because thats the main reason i want one
Yes, basic the same engine but limited in the amount of modules you can add....I have had the Micro and then the Modular (1st series) get one if you can !!!!
really wonderfull track!!! it make me dream like the old skool times! don't stop man!

Heh, I was just trying to think of what this reminds me of
and someone said exactly what I was thinking.. "Ken Ishii" for sure.
I'm currently trying to get my Micro Modular to communicate with the
Editor via Midi. It's a lot harder than it looks, love the sound tho.

Clavia should definitely release a new Modular. Small like the micro would be perfect.
Biopharmer 1 year ago 9
@Biopharmer
You have G2 Engine :)
Yes, to bad, they're now more on oriented on NordStage, NordWave (sampling, who will say that for Clavia) etc.
BTW, great tune, and nice use from one of MM presets.

NICE BEAT MAN
but i wanna know if there's a compressor on the chain
Bcuz i can hear that franch pumping effect
evish2155 3 years ago
I don't think the electribe's (in this case the ER1) support sidechain compression.
The 'French pumping-effect' can be achieved using a saw-shape lfo, controlling the track-volume.
This provides the effect of a simple 4-step compression by the kickdrum

Did you use a compressor????
RhythmDroid 4 years ago
He doesn't answer, i guess :D
But it seems he uses it a lot :)
I guess he even needs to remove a bit of the compression... Too much "pump, void, pump, void" sensation
