But alas, as Jesus said, men are evil, corrupt and in need of a Savior. Your church caused their own demise by their sinful practices. They demand celibacy, but go ahead and have mistresses and even children born out of wedlock. The Kingdom of God is in the heart of true believers, be that Protestant or Catholic. @VideoRide Also, Proestants DON'T have any of the church sacraments (Confirmation, Reconciliation, Last Rights, Eucharist etc).....we interact with Jesus in a very personal way here in our TRUE faith. As you can see for yourselves, nobody really bothered too much, it's not like they let Jesus fall and break his neck...then what's the big issue, if it was so important to the Catholics, they would have started crying, as if the image was really a god.......concrete proof that Catholics don't worship idols, therefore there is no idolatry.....1+1=2......btw, they should consider making lighter statues....

However, where your wrong conclusion is coming from is not knowing the difference between veneration and worship. We can pray Through the Saints and FOR the Saints to pray for us, but not TO them.
We venerate Mary and the Saints, just as you would venerate (uphold) a picture of your great grandfather on your fireplace mantle.

I have the highest respect for doctors and have personally viewed the skillful hands of the late Michael E Debakey perform bypass surgery. In other words, Doctors heal but if all else fails, look to Jesus Christ for your healing, not in a statue.

That looks like a Mary Statue in a Catholic church, where Christianity is probably the only one that wasn't designed to, god does not tell us to make images of the heavens, better yet also bans making images -Exodus 20:4-6.
