I worked for a tire company in the 1970's -they did not have cages....
A rim failure of grader tire I was inflating caused it to violently explode. I was struck by the tire.....It nearly ripped my left arm off. It took two years of therapy to get me back on track.
My arm was saved, but is disfigured from numerous operations.
Even after all these years I am still haunted by the incident.
Be warned and be carefull if you work with tires.. I was lucky...I survived, many tire fitters do not.
