  • Love her or hate her, she is fascinating.

  • a woman of the ages, a real life Athena.

  • She's hilarious - and will always be one-of-a-kind!

  • She was always seen smoking. I wish she had dropped that filthy habit, geez.

  • They should bring out a DVD with all Davis' interviews on! I love watching them!

  • Yes, she appeared a little on the loose side--buzzed, but I enjoyed the interview. It was funny.

  • She appeared on Carson another time years later wearing a blue dress. I wish I could find it on Youtube because she was absolutley hilarious--as always!

  • Why did Carson treat Joan like such shit after she got her own show? Jealousy is a motherfucker.

  • I find myself watching this over an action movie on my new home theatre system. Bette Davis is my favorite actress of all time and one of my all time favorite interviews. I think Johnny did it best with her. They are both missed terribly. How great it is that she did all these interviews so late in life. She's obviously having a great time .

  • If I had been given the chance to meet Bette, I would've been hanging on her every word. A legend plain and simple. We love you and miss you Bette!

  • HAMMERED!

  • Two things that seperate the legends like Bette Davis from today's so called stars/celebrities . TALENT,and CLASS

  • This was after her stroke but she still is great!

  • I would have loved to have met her. Out of all the celebrities i've ever seen interviewed, she gives by far the most entertaining, insightful answers I can remember a celebrity given. She's obviously very intelligent.

  • when stars were stars and not stars because they were famous...

  • You may have your show back.....

  • THANK-U FOR POSTING!!

A MILLION THANKS REALLY, WHAT A GIRL, WHIT, CHARM, CHATTY, TALENT, & BEAUTY!!

    LOVE YOU BETTE xox annabella

  • She was a pistol! Love you, Bette. <3<3<3

  • Oh God, she reminds me of my mom, funny & sharp as a whip!! That's my mom's hero! We both just love her! I agree with Owl Berlin's comment!! She had it alright, just a wonderful woman!! Thanks Brit, again for this!!! :)

  • LOL Just what did she say about Joan Crawford?

  • Bette was a consumate professional and would have never showed up to anything drunk!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bette was a professiona, but she was also known for having a drink or 2 during interviews.

  • @PuttyPauline BEFORE & AFTER ALSO!

  • I've never seen a Bette Davis film in my life, but I love this woman. She's mesmerizing.

  • Then you are in for a treat when you do watch a bette davis movie!!!

  • tleatherland, I suggest you see some of her films, you can check on Turner Classics Movies (TCM) online to see whats playing, you will LOVE her!! Enjoy!!!

    I agree with chow1010, you're in for a treat! :)

  • Give yourself a treat and watch her in All About Eve, Dark Victory, The Little Foxes, Jezebel, Now Voyager...and for absolute over the top campy brilliance check her out in Whatever Happened To Baby Jane.

  • Bette Davis is an example of what Charismatic people are like !!! No teacher and no University can teach this. You either have it or you don't. The minute she opens her mouth you don't want to turn your eyes away from the screen. You want to '' drink'' every word that comes out of her mouth !!! I personally never get enough of her. No matter how many interviews i 've seen of hers, i still want more !!!

    Astor.

  • I love her laugh. Makes me laugh to:) sooo sweet:)

  • Comment removed

  • too bad Bette wasn't on HOTEL, she bowed out Because of her health I believe. God does she have fantastic stories in her!!

  • absolutely bette is not drunk,at her age in this video, the effects wouldve been huge, and even if she did ,good on her xxxx

  • That boom mic bobbing in and out of frame is really annoying. You'd think they'd be ontop of their game for Bette Davis.

  • I love how she talks the whole time and he can barely get a word in edge-wise LOL....funny:)

  • "WHAAT?"! lol

  • I love her hahahahahaha

  • a bitch? vain? wonderful! she facinates me!

  • "And this is what I am....." LOL. What a hoot!

  • oh she was wonderful! but she looked so much more healthier when she had extra weight

  • She looks so lovely in red

  • She's a riot:)

  • Bette Davis is Bette Davis. What does it matter if she was drinking etc. It still is alot better than Britney spears's best performance ( if she ever had any ) or any of the NO talents that are around today. This woman gave so many yrs of excellence in Movies theater and guests on talk shows. She is a real legend.

  • Yes she is !!!

  • @NFitalianGuy She was recovering from a stroke, I doubt drinking.

  • Johnny was the best interviewer ever. He was blessed to have met the Real Stars of Hollywood. I would give anything for some one to post the show when Johnny had Judy Garland on his show from dec 1968.

  • She wasn't drunk, I believe this was after four strokes.

  • Was she drunk? This isn't how she was before.

  • Bette was not drunk. She had had a stroke not long before. But she was still sharp and her great wit was still present. Love you, Bette.

  • It's well documented that she was indeed a heavy drinker, her own son said so.

  • Dude shut the fuck up! you probably smell like feet!

  • This is cool. I love Bette. What wit! I wonder if she had a few drinks b4 the show?

  • She had just recovered from a stroke and a mastectomy. It wasn't too terribly long after this interview that she passed away.

  • What's wrong with having a few drinks? I'm well aware of Bette's condition. at this time. She wasnt an angel ya know. Just a regular GREAT lady. I know when someone's been drinking a little. So, thats my point.

  • I didn't mean to sound condescending - if my comment came across that way, my apologies. And you're right...she well may have had a couple of belts before the taping. She did enjoy her scotch! She was one of a kind - nope, they don't make them like Bette anymore.

  • Ms. Davis is a hoot! I'm with 1timysand 20 stars!

  • There will never be anyone like Bette Davis. She was an original!

  • very poignant. Her vulnerability humbled her.

  • bette davis rocks!!!

  • P.S. If I could give 10 stars to this interview I would still want to give 20.

  • Oh my God thank you so much for sharing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember this interview so well. This has to be the greatest Bette Davis interview ever captured on film. This is brilliance.
