Aretha is pushing 70 within a few years so I have to give it to her to still be doing her thing. There are many young singers today who will not be able to keep up with these old girls who are still kicking butt at their shows. Yes, the voices have changed right along with their looks and shapes but, we have to give it to them. Whitney, well, I do hope she gets herself together vocally after the drugs. Aretha will always be queen.
For her to have the resources and vocal advancement, she really needs to consider repairing her voice or just throw in the towel and hang-up her singing. Her show and or concert flop unlike (Oh me, Oh my) lyrics.

On two clips Aretha sounds pretty good and thats 'one night with king'/respect at that tennis opening of 2007, now those two vocal shows she had clarity in her voice. Like I type before only a true fan will admit a singer's rise and fall with dignity, respect and honesty.
I was thinking the same thing! Whitney is 20+ years younger than Aretha. If you want to compare voices. Put a 40 year old Aretha up against a 40 year old Whitney and Aretha will blow her out of the water. I love Whitney but you just can't compare her voice to Aretha's.

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS WITH ME!!!!!! Aretha in her prime was unmatched. Whitney is great but Aretha is the Greatest. Aretha is the reason that Whitney wanted to sing in the first place. If you look back at Aretha's career (which you haven't from the time Aretha first record her first album at 14 to the time she was in her prime in the 60's and 70's. That is why Aretha is THE QUEEN. Her name alone is legendary and she has a far more impressive body of work that she has left to prove anyone wrong
