I don't really like this version either, the english one is insanely horrible. The snes version is the best, Dhaos doesn't sound like an wimp "eeeeh what is thaaaat?!"... only thing he should say is "Impossible!!!"

I liked the SNES one better, but that's mostly because it was the first I played and I like the battle speed better. Overall, the best would be the Playstation one IMO. Dunno about the PSP one, though.
...You mean Symphonia? We're talking about Phantasia remakes here. And besides, ToS's story is cliched... TotA is the best IMO. Awesome storyline, awesome characters, and awesome battle system. It just tops off ToS a little in each category. (ToS is still awesome, though.)
Symphonia is cliched, but It might be my favorite. I say might because its either it or Eternia, both are awesome. Then Destiny, and then Phantasia (not saying phantasia's bad, its great!)
I have yet to play Rebirth, Destiny 2, the Abyss, and The destiny remake, but I want to (Mostly Rebirth and the remake of destiny)
You should get TotA, I agree, Symphonia is really good, regardless of a cliched storyline. ToE is also fairly cliche, but I really like the idea of all the forces of nature in the worlds changing by the Greater Craymels changing, also it's just a fun game.
I have: ToP, ToD, ToP:FVE, ToS, TotA, ToD2, TotA, ToL, and ToE. I'll be getting TotT, ToR, ToD:R, TotW:ND:3, and ToS:PS2 for christmas. As well as ToP:Anime, but, that's like all I'm getting, other than whatever my brother got me.
I have indeed seen the PlayStation opening. And yes, it's unfortunate that the GBA is much less powerful than the PlayStation, but that can't really be helped, can it? Thankfully there'll be a PSP port of ToP, so then everyone can play that and not complain about crappy sound.

You were born 1992 luka1992....how could you have been old enough to import this game when it was released. That just means you have played it on an emulator. So "original version" to you is on emulator?
About the voices, I try to be equitable so... Engilsh's voices are not perfect, is true! But that no sucks (according to me)!!! For the Jap's voices, they are good too...
You can't really complain about portable ToP, can you? Yeah, the voicing was less than fantastic, but not many games have perfect VAs. (Not to say the JP voices were absolutely perfect either, though I'd definitely prefer them.)
Always hard to get perfect voice acting. One person sounds annoying or bored.
This is just the bad quality of the GBA's sound. It sounds kind of like text-to-speech programs reading a script or like the VA/Seiyuu's held the micrphones far away. I couldn't really make out anything aside "IN-DIG-NAY-SHUUN!", it sounded too quiet.
