You get to play as mickey in certain boss fights only if Sora is killed. If you are lucky the screen will be white and have the option"I won't give up!" if you select it you will then be in control of Mickey.By tapping the triangle button to fill his drive gauge you can cast "healing Light" to revive Sora at full health and with a full drive gauge. If Mickey is killed before you completely fill his drive gauge Sora will still be revived but only at half health.

well i read in a website that when u play as mickey, u must revive sora 2 finish up the boss. if mickey gets ko'd sora quickly revives. trust me, i no.

That and you cant finish the boss fight without a combo. So in other words Mickey is fun to play with but extremely useless when finishing a boss off.
