upgrading anything else shouldn't really be necessary. If you need to upgrade individual components on your PC before the whole system is obsolete, then you bought the wrong computer.

Even most gamers will replace motherboard, RAM and graphics card (the most expensive components) all at once and not one at a time.

btw: u can't upgrade any laptop or all-in-one on the market.

Upgrading parts is way cheaper than buying a new one. I bought and installed CD/DVD burner, a more efficient battery, a Bluetooth receiver and a better HDD. Mac parts are more expensive because they aren't very common because Mac was only 5 percent of the market share

I just did everything he said he was going into "surgery" for and I'm using that computer now. It took me an hour (Mainly because I replaced the power source TOO) I'm 18, and I learned how to do it all the same night I did it. It takes less time than going down to a apple store, making sure whether you're warranty covers the replacement, and having to make an appointment to do so. Incorrect! If you upgrade from Core 2 Duo to Core 2 Quad, you don't need a new motherboard as they both use the Socket LGA 775. If you want to upgrade to Core i7 or Xeon range, you'd then have to change your motherboard which only costs about $200 for the motherboard as they take the LGA 1366 socket size.

If you had to upgrade your RAM, your system must have been outdated or you clearly didn't think to buy a motherboard that was compatible with your CPU AND RAM.

I work for Mac, if I have customers comes by who like just playing a lot of games, I will honestly say go with your PC, or you can play the dual version PC on a Mac with great screen. A good Mac person can imply any games threw Macbook Pro even exe files. I strongly prefer PC dislikers who not interested in Mac should not try Mac Pro, otherwise

vista is much better than xp. its far more secure, you dont even need antivirus if you keep defender and UAC on, and it has a lot more features. the bugs btw have all been fixed with 2 service packs... its pretty much stable now, it was stable with service pack 1 actually... they just added some new netowkring features and few performance upgrades. hardly a service pack

i haven't paid for anything since i bought this macbook other than the macbook itself. and i have updated it atleast twice a month As a matter of fact apple gave me a $400 discount on my mac book and micrsoft office 2008, an ipod touch 16gb, a printer/scanner all for free where you would pay around 200 for microsoft office for a pc, ouch. and about 100 for a scanner/printer. so apple has been generous enough to give me these things all because i am attending a university.

Apple doesn't charge for minor updates but they do charge for others. Also. Apple didn't give you those items for "free". Apple's prices are already higher than comparable PCs and everyone knows they give large educational discounts to try and convert people at school. You can can printer/scanners for "free" with all kinds of PC bundles so no big deal there. Also, it's Microsoft that gives you the discount on Office you genius, not Apple.

lol my older brother got something of that sort when he went to college. he sold all of them except for the ipod and bought a badass alienware laptop.and our grandma actually beleived him when he said he just got a skin for the laptop and it was still the same one.
