I KNOW JERRY.HE WAS A MUSIC LECTURER AT THE UNIVERSITY.IN 2005 HE WENT TO THE USA TO FURHTER HIS STUDIES. IWONDER IF HE CAME BACK.HE WAS A TALENTED ZIMBABWEAN MUSICAN.MANY TALENTED PEOPLE ARE FLOCKING AWAY FROM AFRICA TO BE ABSORBED IN WESTERN COMMUNTITIES IN SEARCH OF GREENE RPOASTURES AND WHERE THEY ARE PAPPRECIETD AND VALUED LEAVING OUR MOTHER COUNTRIES SUFFOCATED OF PROFESSIONALS. GOVERNMENT MUST DO A LOT OF RETAIN SUCH PEOPLE.CRY THE BELOVED COUNTRY.EEEESIH
After reading everyones comments "who cares" what tribe or nation these beautiful melanated people are from. The narrator is giving true in-sight on the origin of the piano & upon other spiritual knowledge.I'm African-America so this clip speaks volumes to me. Please put aside your differences melanated ones.
I am the producer of the video. The choice of using the images of the Swahili in the video was not done to lump Africans together but I actually did not have any footage of the Shona people and my concern was in spreading the message. So I apologize for that shortcoming. It was a hard choice to make.
A bit like making a video of about French viticulture and showing background footage of American fast food outlets.... understand and appreciate your intentions just an unfortunate slip there that is hard not to focus on ....
I enjoyed the information the documentary but the people in the video, i.e the village people depicted here performing various ceremonies are definitely not shona. I am one!
would anyone please enlighten us on tribal ethnicity of the people the video is covering? they look like the muslim swahili of eastern africa. they could they also be of mozambique? your somaliland brother "badmax"
Greetings Brother, I am the producer of the video. The visuals are from Tanzania. The narration is given by a Zimbabwean Mbira player and a ethnomusicologist. We would have liked to use something from Zim but didnt have any. This is my contribution with some shortcomings.
I believe it is the ultimate calling in life for all people to actively participate in the changing of lives. To find a way to make a positive difference. COngratulations Mohammed! THere is no better feeling, in my book, than to know that you are using your gifts to make a difference!!! Would love to work with you some day :)
I appreciate this video.

The Shona people belong to Mozambique as much as they belong in Zimbabwe! I know because I'm nationally both and travel frequently between the two!.

The VIDEO footage here was not taken anywhere near ZIMBABWE. The music and talk is fine - but ignore the VIDEOS - they are West/Central African
