  • Alec, Beautiful playing. Is that a Fender F35? If so, I have the same guitar built in '79 and I'd be interested to know what pickup you have installed in yours? Is that factory? Or did you do it after-market? Again, wonderful playing! Thanks.

    Mike

  • @plizwiz Thanks for your comments. Yes its an F35. But I bought it for £100 as a "cheap & cheerful" acoustic when my other guitar was being repaired and I needed a basic acoustic guitar for a weekend festival. It already had the pickup already fitted so unfortunately I can't tell you anything about it. In fact I didn't know it had been added by a previous owner. I had intended to sell it back to the shop for £50 a week later - but I couldn't part with it!

  • Marvelous! How I wish I could play.

  • nice!!!

  • @crumons Thanks. Alec

  • Thanks for play this way, beautiful !!!

  • @juanvera01 Thank you very much! Alec

  • very very good

  • @mamon430 Gracias por tu comentario - que creo que sido un error. Se sugirió que ofrecen un tutorial - pero yo no lo entiendo. Se puede ver, se puede oír. ¿Qué más necesita? Por favor, perdone mi pobre español. Alec

  • @sixcdj Thanks for your comment. I do teach, but only when a student asks. Alec

  • @AlecStansfieldMusic can you teach me

  • @Guitarshedder8654 Willing to try. What have you already learned? What would you like to learn? Alec

  • @sixcdj hello what the Amp ???

  • brilliant !

  • You're amazing,great job.

  • That' s a Fender F35.

Same as my guitar But you play far better than me

Never heard a bad word said about the F35 in the last 30 years

  • excellent, speechless, ..............

  • Very colorful and well executed classic!

  • OK good enough. They can now let you out of that closet.

  • @hauserkaspar Thanks for your comment - quite funny coming from someone called Kaspar Hauser. What's wrong with living in a closet? Actually some vids of me playing outdoors will be uploaded later today - so thanks, you must be psychic! Alec

  • @AlecStansfieldMusic They should lock me up in that dungeon again but this time with my guitar. I never got much sound out of that wooden horse.

  • Very good. Thanks for sharing. Sherrill

  • terrific stuff!

  • Best acoustic of this song i've heard. how about doing europa.

  • Best acoustic of this song ever. Hope you do more. europa maybe.

  • where in the world do i find a good tab to learn this song!

  • @Greatoutdoors803 Sorry! I don't know about tab. I find that ears, eyes and experimenting is generally more useful.

  • @AlecStansfieldMusic Yea there seem to be a few different versions of tab out there but a few hours of doing just what you said seems to be paying off. Thanks

  • MIS RESPETOS Y FELICIDADES

  • Connected to an AMP ? I see two knobs at the top of the guitar.. If this is stock, its not a F35..

  • @kenmasters007 All I can tell you is that it is has a label inside the sound hole saying it's a Fender F-35 with serial number: F7941469. I had always thought it was unmodified but after your comment and Googling F-35's I can only presume that someone added the pickup and electrics many years ago and before it came into my possession.

  • che bravo complimenti

  • lol ok jeah i mean it looks like my richwood 25 vtnt 100%:P

  • nice is that the RW-25-vtnt:P?

  • That's a lake wood right :P and very nice play mr:D

  • @cortonto Thanks for your comment. It's a Fender F-35 that I picked up second hand for £100

  • You are the best please up more videos. Thank you!!!!!

  • Great guitarist, great arangement. It's real good job! :)

  • @marcinc81 Thank you. Alec

  • Thank you.

  • he man can you please send me the tabs or something i really love it, nice played. gratzz

  • Hi, thanks for your comment. I play by ear so regret that I have no tabs or written notes for this piece. Alec

  • La migliore esecuzione online.. The most Beautiful Live online!

  • genial..

  • nice

  • thanks.

  • Loved your version, thanks for posting

  • I really enjoy this version, so I'm trying to figure out your fingering by ear as my video feed is laggy. I'm making progress and it's great when I get a section down. Thank you for sharing this, and may you have many years of fine playing.

  • Thanks for your comments. You probably figured out already that I use the open E, A and D strings a lot in the accompanment to the melody! Alec

  • I was not aware of that, but will keep it in mind, thank you. I'm trying to figure out if that is a little slide in Am formation up to the Bm on 7th fret after the G is played in the very 1st section.

No need to reply if this is bothersome for you, I doen't want to open up a can of worms for you, as the Am formation slide from Bm flat to Bm does'nt sound too bad.

  • I'm always happy to answer specific questions. After the G, I play a B at the 4th fret on the G string, followed by a D at the 3rd fret on the B string before jumping (quick as poss!) to the Bm chord at the 7th position. (But its not a full Bm - I only play the third finger at the 9th fret on the A string and a bar across the 7th fret - there's no B at the 9th fret on the D string - just the bar at the 7th). In retrospect this could all be played at the 7th position - might make it a bit easier!

  • That is much clearer. I can hear that voiceing now. I was aware of the Bm7 not being full at the 7th fret. Thank you so much for your help, very much appreciated.

  • TEACH US PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • It's nice to be asked to teach - thanks! But maybe learning is more about the attitude of the student more than the teacher. I reckon it's all there in the video, there's no magic or even tricky playing. It's standard tuning, you can hear everything and see where my hands are placed. I wonder what else you could want to know? I'm not trying to be difficult - it just isn't clear to me what else you would need to learn this piece....

  • easier said than can be done. I've been playing for about 3weeks! hahahahaha...but im a fast learner. If there was a close up it would be perfect but its ok your version is the best on youtube hands down!

  • Hi, thanks for replying. Next vid I do I'll try to arrange close ups. Thanks for letting me know. Keep it up - I really does get easier in time!

  • Just found this.....

Wow! What a most excellent version.

    Beautifully played.

    5*

    SB

  • this is very good its kinda gave me goosebumps haha lol. awsome

  • how can you play like that! Its awesome!

  • Thanks for your comment. I think it helps to have been playing for many years (44 years now I think) - and trying hard to make each note count.

  • Awesome!!! Please teach online.

  • By far the best cover of Samba Para Ti on the web!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job,Awesome

  • Wow!

    Excellent rendition!

I wear glasses to, but take them off when I play they become a distraction. You should try that.

You by far have the best acoustic cover ot Samba Pa Ti on the web!!!!!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for your generous comments. You are right, I should take off my glasses, but I'm not generally aware of anything other than sounds while I'm playing!

  • maravilloso

  • Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for posting.

  • bravo bel suono si vede che hai studi Classici cia

  • Bravo mestre !

  • nice job luv it..............

  • Good job ...a classic that i don't think the shadows ruined

  • hey do you have a tab for this?

  • No, sorry - I don't have any tab. Its only in my head (and now on this vid) but I probably play it differently each time!

  • AWESOME! How long do you play guitar? Great recording technic by the way. Credit for that and 5 stars. Check my video on contemporary guitar!

  • Thanks for your comment. I've been learning guitar for 44 years and messing with recording almost as long. I'm hoping one day to find a band which lasts more than three months!

  • What a sound! How on earth do you achieve that?

  • Thanks - I mostly use my ears. The guitar bridge pickup is plugged straight into a VOX DA5 practice amp (a bit like a Roland micro cube) with some reverb, then mic'd using a Rode NTK large condenser mic straight into a Focusrite Saphire Firewire interface to a PC running Ableton Live 7. (with probably a little compression, EQ and a hint of a stereo reverb). The original video sound track is replaced with the WAV file exported from Ableton. There - You did ask! I'm glad you care - cos I do too!

  • wow, thats really good. thats nice

  • NICE JOB

  • muy buena.... very nice way to play that song

  • Nice cover!

  • Love it!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for posting such a wonderful interpretation of one of Santana's best! He would be proud!

  • Nice Job... sounds great!

  • Great dude.

    keep it up xD

  • Great cover! excellent tone and nice all around. You ever consider putting this on AmIaGoodMusician dotcom? You would probably rank highly and get some more exposure..it's right up your alley. Check it, you'll see...

  • Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check it out
