I think I understand what happened. She was reliving her past, thinking back to her fairytale world she'd built brick by brick in her own mind. Then, when the girl (her younger self) falls into the hole, it's basically showing that she had to bury her dreams and go on living in the real world, cruel as it may be. Or maybe that's just what I got out of it. >_>
