I love love love this song! One of the top best of Peter Cetera's songs!! And hot dog, I get to go to one of his concerts very soon! I will be in heaven. ^__^
I don't know what that's got to do with anything...as far as 'newer' Chicago is concerned, well, I do like 'Look Away' and 'What Kind of Man Would I Be'; yeah, they're shlocky love songs, but they are both really good tunes. Newer Chicago I can't stand is "If She Would Have Been Faithful" and "Hard Habit To Break", which I think is one of the worst songs ever written. And why the heck did they do "25 or 6 to 4" over again...talk about a musical goof!
I'm 55, Nancy...and I'm sure Cetera doesn't give a flying f***...I've read past interviews with other members of Chicago who said he was always more pop-oriented, and I've even read that he never liked the Brass Section in the group. I loved the Old Chicago, I really did. I know things must change, but sometimes those changes aren't for the better. Cetera is also a really good bass player. Very Melodic.
Dam what a nice song. i think im one of the few people my age that listens to this and chicago songs. people say im wierd but im alright even a fool can see. lol
I was so angry at Peter Cetera for leaving Chicago, and I really don't like his solo stuff all that much, but there's something about this song...the piano parts sound like something Robert Lamm would've played, and the gentle brass towards the end of the song almost sound like something Chicago's horn section would've put together. Most of Cetera's solo stuff isn't worth the plastic or vinyl it's put on, but I've always loved this song.
Mr. PopCultured, go back to Chicago's very first album (Chicago Transit Authority) and listen to his voice soar on "Questions 67 and 68"...he nails that song...I guess I'm not into lovesick pop ballads all that much...nothing wrong with liking his post-Chicago stuff...just make sure you don't miss out on Chicago's stuff. Another great Cetera vocal from that time is "Where Do We Go From Here", the last song on side two. A song with a powerful message for the ages...
The songs of Peter Cetera and Chicago hold a special place in my heart. They really did make up the soundtrack of my university years...Thanks, Peter!
