Haven't been to Paxton Pits for a few years so it's probably changed a bit.
We've got Cormorants at Fen Drayton Lakes although I've not seen that many in one spot. Perhaps the local fisherman should train one up like the HSBC advert.
Thank you so much dear Phil for sharing these wonderful and relaxing walks :)
Excellent video !
PS. I had a lot of problems with my goose... as she was a male .... i had to give Him to a friend of mine..... In those last weeks he was the terror of my dogs and ....mine .
It was was not the nicest of days to be out getting video...but we always appreciate you going no matter what the weather. It sure was windy as you could not only hear, but see by the water.
Absolutely Superb, even the greedy gulls have to survive they love Chips and over battered fish, this is on the coast of course. You have never seen such a squabble for survival much like the starling but on a bigger scale. Beautiful and the music was a wonderful compliment to enhance the magic of nature. Thank you Phil x
Nice vid once again Phil. The Cormorants have been showing up here in larger numbers the past few years and really fishing out our local ponds such as the one at our campground. But, they sure are amazing to watch. hugs, Chris
Aww thanks Ali. You know, they were stood in it and yet, they still dive into it, trying to get the water bugs I think, also they keep eye on Cormorants trying to take their catches from them. I will be back there tomorrow, supposed to have heavy rain again ;)
In the video yesterday about the Cormorant, I got them doing just that, in the video. I felt kinda sorry for the Cormorant, but he just turned around and went and got more lol
Looks like you were taken by suprise at 2:46 .lol
just what i needed on a staurday morning, great stuff as always :)

Yes, I have seen them on the coasts, but this year, did not seem to be as many Herring Gulls around.

They are truly amazing birds, and such expert fishers, but none go to waste, they only eat what they need to survive. Hugs Phil

Phil, you turned my lunch of cold left-overs into a most enjoyable meal ;)
In all my years here at the beach - I've never seen gulls sitting 'ON' the water & diving. (only diving from air here)

Yeah, I saw them hovering over the Cormorants, just waiting to steal their catch! Kinda sad, but yet funny...

Yes, I remember when I saw it thinking - there is even thieves among the critters! (and they're not even wearing suits!!!)
