  • Y r u out of breath

  • What's the best tire for bashing for the slayer?

  • Hay there so If I have a revo I can just Chang the arms and then I would have a slayer is that right

  • @waynenc1 No you'd have to change the arms, drive shafts, pushrods, and steering linkages.

  • Hey Josh can you fit traxxas slash rims and tires on a slayer pro can you fit the body on it.

  • is this good for a first rc truck

  • man i wanna get that truck just have to wait this thursday or next thursday and im buying that truck yay me and do you use 20% nitro?

  • @jkeys1323 ya its 4x4

  • Im new to nitro....if the ez start wand is not charged can you pull start...or start another way....is ez start better than pull?

  • will the proline switch fit on a slash 2wd

  • is there a switch to turn the motor off

  • @ThePuzzlefigure No you have to shut her down by either plugging the exhaust or pinching the fuel line.

  • if u do multipl kart wheels will it catch on fire

  • @mustanggt500ism lol no it wont

  • This is an ok video butt I was expecting some part that breaks easily or a part to upgrade instead of tiers...........

  • what engine do you recomend that is a direct drop in? i was thinking about just getting a 2.5 thinking it may be easier to tune and maintain and its pretty cheap

  • i got a traxxas slash 4x4 ultimate its amazing

  • are the switch tire good on pavement, grass and dirt?

  • traxxas jato tires are also very nice if you drive on asphalt...

  • Man i wish i bought this instead of the dumb savage x4.6. Traxxas makes good durable stuff, my Hpi has been broken more times than my old traxxas slash. My traxxas slash was so reliable and my HPi, involves too much work

  • So there is no nitro

  • revo,tmaxx is better though.

  • can it use buggy tires? big tires not small

  • can it use car gas?

  • @jensfos No you need nitro fuel.

  • @nitromad48 lol

  • @jensfos lol...GAS... that will really fuck that car up.

  • @NIGHTCRAWLER504 yeah - fuel is alcohol, nitromethane and caster oil... nitromethane is used in top fuel drag cars...

  • @jensfos

bwahahhaha, Car gas doesnt have enough high octane for these things. The fuel they run on, is very similar to acetone or Rubbing alcohol. Dont go trying to run either of those substances in your nitro car, because it wont last one run

  • @nitromad48 yeah i subscribe and i saw tht i wasent sure if there was a dirffent way to do it and do u now how to convert dish weeles to short coarse beacause of the the diamiter in the inside and its pretty wierd if u no waht i mean

  • @nitromad48 can u make a how to vid to convert dish weels for the traxxas slayer and how to mount the revo win g mount it will really help thx.

  • @traxxasdriver101 Go watch my latest vid of how to mount a revo wing ;) I just recently posted it.

  • @nitromad48 thx

  • @nitromad48 like it is snowing outside if i took it out there wood it short out just wondering beacause i saw u run your revo and my slayer is the same thing and thts all :)

  • @traxxasdriver101 No it should be just fine. But I recommend wrapping a plastic bag or a ballon around the receiver just in case ;)

  • what fuel does it use..!?

  • @Hanton14 Any nitro fuel, 15,20, or 30%. Doesnt matter what brand the fuel is.

  • what fuel does it use..!?

  • @nitromad48 I hav a slayer pro with waterproof servos is it waterproof if it is still stock thx

  • @traxxasdriver101 It's water resistant but not water proof.

  • u canadian>/?

  • @flyboy83297 yeah man

  • @nitromad48 lol cuz you said abeut hehehe :)

  • how much would you recommend this car over other nitro rc cars made by traxxas? I have the hpi savage and kyosho inferno, but i never had a traxxas, is this a good car???

  • @flyboy83297 Yes the slayers are fantastic trucks! Personally I'm a fan of the Revo's for the reason that they have more stance and better stability as well as durability but if you want speed and a truck for light dirt then this is your ride ;)

  • @flyboy83297 so you would recommend the revo over this? is the truck very durable, can i bash it around?

  • how come every slayer I see has the suspension jacked up all the way?

  • Is there a aftermarket reverse kits for this truck? It would be awesome to reverse on this truck. Would you think?

I have one too, i have not had any problem with it so far. I love it, i had for apprx 1 year now.

  • Check tower hobbies...

  • Yeah me 2,i have got an Traxxas Slayer Pro too,and im wanting for an expert like you to do a nice full review on it : )

  • ive got one of these and they're fantastic and thinking of buying the optional gearing and a reverse gearing for it but i cant find a dealer with any of them do you know any dealers that supply them?

  • im a begginer im getting this truck for xmas and i already have a tmaxx and some shity sports werks thiing. how do you break in the engine on this car?

  • thank you for this video im looking into geting one of these and this helps me with my decision and this will be my first nitro car

  • hey could you test the slayer pro 4x4

  • @Mrrickes Definitely thinking about it man, I'll keep you guys posted ;)

  • @nitromad48 thanks

  • which parts go first

  • does it have sway bars

  • @metallicarulesable Not stock it doesn't.

  • revo jato lst

  • @McMasterMP , the jato doesn't look good

  • hey man how much was your ex start

  • dumb dude nothing wrong with stock tires...

  • make a video of it running on the track

  • have you heard of the new slayer pro 4x4 really nice truck

  • Comment removed

  • nice vid thanks for the info .....and no ffense but it sounds like u have a killer lisp but it could be ur camera makin it sound tht way

  • how much run time do u get

  • @Coreyvxl Around 20-25 min

  • Is the slayer as good as the slayer pro 4x4 i am buying a traxxas nitro and could test the slayer pro 4x4

  • The Switch tires are ok, but DO NOT buy the Epic beadlock wheels. ALL four of my wheels CRACKED around the hex area. Because the hex area on the wheel is quite thin (only about 1/3 of the hex sits in it). I'm not the only one who has such problem with it.

  • Slayer 3.3 vs. Revo 3.3? I bash a little go off road a little race a little and i go on road a little so im pretty much a all around guy. Whats the best all around truck Revo 3.3 or Slayer 3.3?

  • @EasternEb58 I'd go with the revo, you'll prefer it a lot more for all the off-road you might be doing, especially if you start jumping.

  • oh i meant to say wheels not tires sorry

  • does it handle well on the dirt and when you take turns does it slide and also when you jump it does it bottom out easy. thanks

  • one last thing can 2.2 tires fit on the slayer and thanks.

  • @bagofbones11 With the proper wheels yes.

  • thax

  • im a electric guy and i wont to move up and should i stay electric or go nitro

  • @1120691 Well either you invest in a high quality electric or you can move to nitro and learn all the maintenance, tuning, and running of a nitro. Personally I think nitro is much better than electric. Just my personal opinion.

  • which bead locks did u get because there are some for the sc10 only or front slash only im guessing the ones that are for the 4X4 slash

  • @bagofbones11 I got the Proline switch tires and epic beadlocks.

  • @nitromad48 did you have to get a 12mm hex to fit them

  • @bagofbones11 14mm yeah

  • nitromad, I've been racing with the traxxas electrics for quite a while now and I would like to get into nitro. Would you say this is a good kit to start with? Im trying to decide between a nitro rustler or the slayer.

  • @JohnDeereRockz Definitely go with the slayer or the revo.

  • @nitromad48 alright thanks=)

  • I drove mine head on into a phone pole at top speed (when I was racing a mini bike) and no damage. it bounced about 6-7 feet in the air after it hit but nothing broke. thats a strong bumper.

  • what better t-maxx 3.3 or slayer?

  • @techno5213 I'd go with the T-Maxx for off-road but definitely the slayer for on-road.

  • @nitromad48 thanks

  • your voice makes me want to break babies necks, drop the lisp plz

  • @Andyterranbase1 It's the camera making sound like a lisppy nerd lol, check out my other vids and you'll see the new cam is better. ;)

  • no offense bro but your lisp isnt helping the the way people look at rc'ers. haha great review keep it up. i subbed

  • I am not sure what truck would be better slayer or revo 3.3? thanks

  • @enginedude100 I'd go with the Revo personally, just overall a better truck.

  • what did you do with your slayer? sell it?

  • why wouldn't you go Electric its Just as Fast in fact faster in some areas. and. the only thing i hate is that gas last longer and the battery's don't :/

  • @MikeHendershotJr nitro is soo much more fun when you know what your doin.

  • why wouldn't you go for the 4x4 Slayer?

  • @MikeHendershotJr this is the 4x4 slayer! There's only one slayer and it's a 4x4...;)

  • Hey what size wheel hex are on there

  • @Tonyswife80 14mm..

  • Im sick of batteries crapin out on me and waiting hours for them to charge and then getting like 5 minutes of run time, I WANT GAS POWERED! this will probably be my next truck. btw good review, simple to the point.

  • r u canadian?

  • @jakeman49926 Yeah....

  • @nitromad48 haha ok, kool truck... have you thought about getting the 1/16?

  • @jakeman49926 I've thought about it but I donno if I'll be going electric any time soon...

  • should i buy the slash 4x4 or the slayer 3.3

  • @xminyman55x Up to you...there both great...

  • I have a Revo 3.3 and a slayer and the revo is better but i think that the slayer is much more durable because it is more compact. but basically they are the exact same truck same engine, same suspension, same airfilter, and everything is about in the same place.

  • how did you brake the motor in

  • i was wondering im about to buy a slayer and i am wondering if it has plastic gears or medal

  • @labs4me16 Plastic....

  • shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiitttttt oh well thanks anyways

  • @IbzSolja1 they are just as good...just depends on what your using them for...speed runs and light dirt go with the slayer...jumping, heavy terrain, large hills and hill climbing go with the revo....

  • ive been curious thought as to knowing what it would look like and how it would handle. is it possible you could do a short video for me showing how to do these modifications and running it to show the handling? or even just a set of pictures would suffice. it would be GREATLY appreciated since i am new to

    r/c

  • @xXpsychopathicXx420 Sorry man but I no longer have my slayer...

  • great review lots of info well done man. one question, could i put revo front a-arms on my slayer if i wanted to? i mean, it is the revo chassis i figured theyd fit. what parts would i need to be able to do this? ill keep the regular size slayer wheels on it, would the body still fit? i think it would look better and more like a prerunner if i did this, not to mention that i would think it would add to the poor stability

  • @xXpsychopathicXx420 Yes you could but you'd need the a-arms, revo driveshafts, revo pushrods and toe links. Yes the body would still fit and you will definitely get more stability.

  • dude take out ur reatiner b4 u start talking...

  • hey, i just wanted to know what is better the slayer or the 5309 revo 3.3 not platinum, could you make a quick vid comparisson please, thanks great vid 5 STARS!

  • hey man jus so u know i think u said nitrous in the video. haha it nitro!!!! not nitrous. and $40 for a gallon of fuel??? it like 25 here in chicago suburbs. thats fucked up for u man.

  • Ya once again it's my camera that makes me sound like I said nitrous...I'll be getting a new camera soon to get rid of that lisp sound I have in the vids...

  • And ya I know it's insane how expensive it is here...

  • how much was this?

  • Around $370 brand new online...Hobby shops are wayyy more expensive.

  • i think this kid needs to take out the retainer before he talks "TCHIS CHIS A CHVERY CHGOOD CHHHHTRUCK

  • Dude it's the camera not me...I plan on getting a new one soon...insults aren't appreciated man....

  • wat do you think is better the jato or the slayer??? i have the jato. ya i also run out in fuel very fast.

  • Once again it depends on what your going to use them for...both trucks are great, but the slayer is a little bit better in durability and fuel economy. The slayer has very few bugs to be worked out and I'd recommend it to anyone..;)

  • i love my slayer and nice vid bro

  • how much does it cost for a gallon of nitro fuel

  • $40 in Canada. I go through about a gallon every week to a week and half...lol

  • can you say seven sea sea saw times 10

  • hey how does it run is it durable and else about and whats up with the shocks like that why are they like that ?

  • It's an awesome truck and it's very durable. I recommend it to anyone. And the shocks are designed that way...traxxas is the only brand that came out with that design and it's a fabulous design that offers tons of stability.

  • Personally I use the ez-start and a glow igniter. But check that your ground wire (the yellow one) is firmly mounted to the engine in the engine mount screws and check that your connections are all good as well as the glow wire isn't severed because that obviously will cause problems. Get a glow igniter and test your glow plugs, if's they glow orange there still good to go. If they do nothing then you just have a bad tune resulting in glow plugs dieing quickly.Go to my vid on how to tune theTRX.

  • Yo sweet vid I am 15 and I got a t-maxx 2.5 r like in my vids that I do and than got 3.3 sweet engine I got a lot of integy stuff for it. By the way nitromad48 thank u for subscribing to me

  • im 12 and i saved up for 1

  • nice man...they sure aren't cheap though a?

  • I'm 15...

    Thanks man!

As for the engine, fire up your engine and then turn your idle screw counter clockwise and that will lower your idle, also richen your low end and richen the high end about a turn each...the engine will be very slugish at first but then slowly start leaning it out and find your tune. Also check that none of your fuel filters are dirty, as well as the airfilter, also I recommend cleaning the carb...sometimes it's just a gummed up carb that's causing trouble.

    Baby Squirrel

  • Just a good paying job....

  • k thankz

  • ya the pricwe ranger for the truck

  • It's around $400 new and you shouldn't pay more than $280 for a stock used one....

  • what do you think the price range would be? and how much were your rims and tires?

  • Price range for the truck? And the tires and wheels were $70...

  • hi i was wondering how you make all the moeny for your cars do you sell them and buy new ones.

im asking theis because im 15 and dont have much money for my cars

  • I just have a well paying job...it's great

  • does the slayer have aa reverse built in??

  • No it doesn't.

  • would you recommend it to a beginer

  • Yes it's a great truck for pretty much everyone!

  • were did you get th rims at

  • Bought them off of tower hobbies...

  • you need to get the sway bar kit, REALLY you need it, rolling truck might be "fun", but after a while it gets annoying lol.

  • oh ya I know I was just about to buy one but decided I rather sell and try something else. I've got the sway bar kit on my platinum revo and I know how much a difference it makes..;)

  • how well does the sway bar kit help roll overs

  • Oh it helps a ton...big difference than stock!

  • hey do u have problems with ur proline tires like them coming off, mine always do

  • Every now and then. But they only come off if the weren't mounted properly...

  • how long do the AA batteries last in the reciever? does it have some kind of failsafe?

  • Kinda depends on how your driving the car and which AA's your using but on average around 3 tanks before it gets low. and the servo's have little torque because of the lack of voltage, it's well worth buying the receiver packs.

    NitroMad48

  • thanks do you need an adapter to plug in the rechargable reciever pack

  • Yes would need to buy a charger and the adapter for it. It's best to buy a digital charger opposed to a wall charger because you risk overcharging your pack on the wall charger while the digital has a limiter on it.

  • thanks but i ment for plugging into the truck sorry

  • Mk its nitro not nitrous and recevier box isnt waterproof

  • Ya it's my camera that makes it sound like I said nitrous, and actually my receiver box is water resistant. So it's all good to be going through puddles and stuff, but not water bogging. lol
