  • Yep - that's Vestine on veena. Harry Manx in Canada plays a custom veena but the sound is nothing like the Fahey/Vestine version.

  • I think that is Henry Vestine from Canned Heat playing the sitar...

  • I want this played at my funeral.I love Alan Wilson and this is sublime.

  • The first Fahey album I owned. I had been listening to Kottke's "6 & 12 String Guitar" and thought this would have a similar sound. I had no clue. Thanks for posting.

  • wonderful on the list for my funeral, uncle dave macon as well.

blind al a great bonus, loved this for donkey's years.

    cheers from down under.

  • this music maKES me CRy thank you!

  • @palteonato Me too ...

  • yes Blind Owl (Al Wilson) definitely deserves recognition on this one.

Fahey and Wilson were great friends, Wilson helped Fahey on his UCLA thesis on Charley Patton and Fahey gave Wilson the nick name "Blind Owl"

  • Alan Wilson touch of genius evident.

  • Blind Al Wilson of Canned Heat on veena.
