Hello @PrinceofMacedon, really enjoying your videos, done that for many years now! What do you think about how forest battles are in Total War in general? I don't like them so much since there is that limited view, but do you think that also makes it a really accurate portrayal of how it is to actually fight and command like that in forests? In MP it doesnt really matter though, equal for both, but against the AI it feels like forests favor them.

@jth112 Idk man the Aztecs army was gigantic and take away the cost of disease and just a 1 on 1 battle I think Aztecs would overwhelm them with sheer numbers according to some estimates when cortez and the other conquistadors fought the Aztecs their army was almost a million strong

Awesome video but I doubt in real life the Aztecs would ever be able to defeat a Byzantine army there is to big difference in armor and weaponry technology but that's what I love about these games those inaccuracies go out the window and strategy wins the day.

@jth112 Depends on the size of the Byzantine army. Obviously with equal sized armies the Byzantine's would win , but if the Aztecs were well prepared and had a lot more men they could tire the Byzantine's out and overwhelm them.

Good game, but I still hate Medieval 2.. the troop movement and even more the troop order (when charging or so) is really inaccurate and thus inefficient compared to what I'm used to when playing RTW or even Empire..

@RedHillRabbitoh you have to get the last type of boat. the type that can sail into open ocean not just the coast. the spanish can get them. theres an extra part of the map on the left hand side. when you sail over to it, it becomes revealed. good gold trade over there too.

@3210Mit The spear wasn't just a anti-cavalry weapon :P

They were simpler to use then most veteran weapons (obsidian edged wooden clubs) and simpler to make, ideal when you want to equip a large militia force.

@3210Mit You do realise that spears were used because of their range, defensive and offensive capabilities at first. Then later they proved more effective against horsemen than the sword did. Spears weren't invented for the sole puprose of anti-cav... hell, it was used by very very ancient people. Except for the rock and the axe/hammer it's probably one of the oldest weapons ever lol.Used for hunting etc. So, no, it's not weird, at all.

@Simppu12 if I was a master at this game, then I would know the strengths/weaknesses of each unit, exactly how to exploit it, and I would be confident of victory after seeing my opponent's army in the first few seconds after a battle starts. I won't achieve this sort of mastery until I've played this game extensively (which I have not done)

Hillcamping takes very little skill to achieve victory. I would only do it if my army was severely depleted or I handicapped myself considerably.

yeah, archers are way more deadlier in M2TW, than in RTW. elite archers can really win you a match, even when you have only 3-4 melee units
