Here's an idea: instead of complaining about how indie's 'ruined' - why not just listen to music because you like it? So what if it's mainstream? How does that affect your individual tastes?

You can't just have a prefixed taste to one genre, as many people here have suggested.

@loveliestalarm do people really say that because indie gets popular? I don't get it. What's wrong with wanting more people to hear your great music? Both these bands are amazing and probably don't care if it's mainstream or not as long as they keep themselves grounded.

Indie is awful anyway, indie was cool until it became mainstream , which was just after the arctic monkeys first album and nearly every indie band afterwards has been awful such as the fratellis , wombats , vampire weekend ect

but throughout we are scientists have been awesome

Well after the arctic monkeys people actually started listening to indie music and stopped listening to beyonce and 50 cent so it kind of spoilt it for the people who really liked the music , not just wanted to go with the flow like everybody else

k well im not the sort of person to care about what kind of people are into the same music as me, or how mainstream the genre has become, im just into them for there great tunes, they didnt spoil indie music, they made great tunes that got alot more people into it.
