I think this is as good, perhaps better than (both) proposal scenes in "Pride & Prejudice" 2005...also The Terminator when Kyle tells Sarah that he loves her and the ending of BBC 2007 Sense and Sensibility and the ending to the original King Kong 1933.

Of all the unforgettable scenes in Lost history, this one still tops them all. The raw emotion and sincerity that is delivered through the phone call is just incredible.

Also hats off to Michael Giacchino who used "Desmond's theme" (not the actual name, but thats what it is) to just add to the magic of the scene. As soon as she picks up and the music swells behind him is just goosebump inducing.

This scene made me almost cry when the two of them spoke after all that time apart.

Simply touching and wonderful that Penny never gave up looking for him.

I believe its not to long after they've broken up over the photo. Its a few years before he leaves for the race, because he leaves for the race in 2001, and I think its 1995 or 1996 in that time.
