i haven't started watching this video yet but i'm about to press play. at the place i work at, i see this woman all the time on the hd tvs and in the captions she's always rattling off some statist bs. i can't wait to see how ron rips her apart!
I think they are just used to talking to each other in the coded language that allows the status quo to continue. When they talk to Dr. Paul and he starts in with history and calling this system fascist, they don't know what to say. No one has said to them (at least publicly) that the emperor has no clothes.

Had there been competition in insurance for the last 50 years, companies would not do the things she complains about ; people would pay a bit more for insurance companies that don't do those things, because people value human life (Maslow's heirarchy).
The State has made that impossible by squeezing resources and thereby destroying the possiblity for such marginal activities to take place.

You can tell Ron Paul is getting a strong strut ever since he won cpac, He has nothing but contempt for this woman. They answered their own question when stated the insurance companies spend millions of dollars to lobby, influence the public and politicians. Limited centralized power would diminish the opportunity to throw cash at one place. Ultimately they will love the health care bill when tax revenue flows like a river everyone wants to dip in and siphon for them selves infinite resources.
