  • I've toyed with selling mine over the years. Kinda heavy, no channel switching , verb, trem or anything...BUT what it does it does well and the amp records like nobody 's beeswax. Had mine for nearly 30 years. The clean channel is really overlooked and it even makes an OK bass amp for quiet gigs. Built like a tank

  • 顔やばい

  • "Uhhhhh."

  • It's as if he is staring through my soul.....

  • good demo covered all the bases.

3 guitars and lots of different tones all you need and this is why i check you tube out.

  • Hi all. I have a vintage 1968 jmp50 head. Serial number s/11039. All original parts still intact and in perfect working order.

Send me a message if your interested

  • Where did you get the "cosmetic" work done?

  • look at his face when he plays. like his head is empty, and his hands are full with brains.

  • Can you please tell me where you got the new face plate for your JMP? I've been searching for a source for a new JCM 800 face & rear plate without any luck. Thanks!

  • I have this amp and it is a beast! (and No I'm not selling it) I'm "getting the band together" and am open for suggestions on knob settings for killer tones- especially for bluesy and higher gain modern rock. I have a Line 6 Flextone III which I really like, but nothing cuts through the mix like this JMP. I've been able to get some great tones with the JMP, but am always searching for something better and am open for suggestions. Thanks.

  • @UTubist512 mentioning a marshall valve combo and line six in the same breath. you must be menatally disturbed!!! One is a really nice piece of history and sounds absolutely great, the other is lightweight over synthesized shite. witness the amount of line six amps on second hand sites selling for pence. nuff said.

  • @musson13 The advantage that the Line 6 has over the my Marshall combo: one can use the pedal to switch between lead and rhythm volumes the value of which is not to be underestimated. I havn't found a distortion/gain pedal that I gives me such flexibility. When I do, I doubt I'll be using the Line 6 nearly as much because you are correct (though obnoxiously stated) that there is no comparison between the sweet tone and chest thumping crunch of my Marshall combo and any Line 6 ever made.

  • @UTubist512 try a tube amp and a boost pedal.

  • Can this amp be bolted upon a 4x12 cab if you want?

  • So wait, I'm confused. Did you ever hook up w/ Juno again after you bought that loft down town?

  • dude has an 80's haircut

  • SCORPIONS!

  • Big city nights sounded good.

  • Did you change any of the settings when you plugged into the low input?

  • this amp is awesome, when i heard this amp with an telecaster and my favorite guitarist , thats when I really started to play, this amp is so versatile, just learn to turn the knobs right - amazing amazing amp , I want one !!

  • As creepy as the eyes were, i couldn't look away, oddly enough

  • @ruffles272 I had to look away at 2:36! LOL! Seriously though this is a great demo and I'm scouring ebay right now for one because of it....

  • @odgeUK I know I know!!! Great demo though, I LOVE these amps but only with humbuckers!

...and in my experience ...If you're in a band with a bunch of volume pussies and your drummer who's always saying "I'm a hard hitter!!" actually hits like your arthitic Grandma and you know he'll freak out and quit the band if you tell him like it is.... Then maybe you should look into something else. I feel better now

    Anywho Thanks for the demo!!

    Cheers

  • errr and errrr ahhhh ummmm ahhh and errr and ahh

  • My rhythm guitarist uses one of these, sounds great.

  • filter caps changed

  • What model is this amp? Is it the 2104? Gonna replace my JTM45 combo with one, the JTM45 just doesn't kick enough for me, it's unusably loud and doesn't get any kind of overdrive until you push it to a level where no one can hear the drummer/bass player/vocals/police banging at the door!!!

  • @lewisb81 These do drive sooner, but my master volume JMP needs to have both volumes at about 6 to get even a mild rock n' roll grind (Led Zep levels). JTM's aren't quite as loud.

  • nice amp.. you play great lots of feeling :D smile more :D

  • marshall+les paul= in no way equals 80s metal in my mind

  • @jimmyp73 Plenty of 80s metal guys used Marshall+Les Paul..especially in the early 80's and shortly before the third wave of hair metal they became really popular again. The Marshall+Les paul combination is pretty much synonymous to raunchy rock roll (nevermind the Bluesbreakers).

  • Good video

  • gee thanks for saying uhhhhhhh 45 times, literally 45 times, i counted

  • But does it go to 11?

  • I think Rory Gallagher used one of these Marshalls for his more rocky tone during the 80's and 90's

  • sounds great.

  • so aah this is the my marshall :)

  • 2:07

Big city... big city nights! Love that riff.

  • where did you get the face plate, man I've been looking for a new one. I have the same amp but 1979 really like it.

  • Lizzy at 3:04!

  • these amps are great things i have one from 78 and when used with a 4x12 cab its awesome

  • Get an attentuator.

  • @MrILoveSchool you "think" you have one of these? I think if you had a vintage marshall you would know.. maybe you have an MG because vintage JMPs = the holy grail of tone. If you prefer a microtube to a JMP, then something's wrong...

  • It's killer, don't worry about it. It's a tube amp, so it needs to be cranked to truly hear it's awesomeness. But, if you don't want it, I could buy it :P

  • Comment removed

  • good sarcasm there ahah

  • Comment removed

  • @MrILoveSchool save me Jebus, that's just retarded

  • Great vid, thanks.

  • That amp sounds really good! Evidently 6550s rock!

  • yeah you can play sweet child on that you just need to ad a little more reverb and turn down the tone

  • Please don't ever sell that amp!!! You'll regret it the rest of your life. That amp sound's KILLER!!

  • dude,its an amp..

    relax:)

  • I have one of these and I want another one. If you love classic ACDC tone then you need this amp in your life!

I have one from 1978, and my main guitar is a gibson custom non reverse firebird.

I have a big muff and a pog that I put through it, its all good... and the amp fell off a riser onto its front the other day - no issues... just kept on going!!

COME ON MARSHALL! MAKE AMPS LIKE THIS AGAIN!!!

    ROKK

  • This is a gorgeous sounding amp. I like the variety of sounds you can get out of it. Very nice. Unless you are amp-rich hang on to it. It's a beauty.

  • i had one with the basket weave these amps come alive win you start to pushem .not quit as much gain as a jcm 800 4104 but they have awesome tone i want another one . nice amp

  • how heavy is it?

  • 2:44 = LOL

  • HHAHAHAHAHAHAHA epic fail to look down. which is kinda weird, because he was playing decently before.

  • FYI - I think those are new filter caps. You would expect those to have been replaced however due to the age of the amp :)

  • sick amp!

  • This is actually an excellent video to show the versatility of the 800 combos.

    Hopefully, you kept it.

  • HEY, nice to hear Scorpions' riffs!!!!! Your amp sounds good man!!!

  • goddam gotta love thes amps

  • how much for this amp?

  • $1000

  • sick amp!

  • lol at the beginning hes got a LP then like 3 seconds later hes got a tele

  • @ClaptonRules64 That's the new Gibson robot - it turns into a tele when you're not looking..

  • @yahoochiewatchie haha, lol!

  • haze sounds nothin like this really i think, ts more dull muffled n proly mor modern, but if it did id be on it, i love how the combo looks like onea these tho

  • The new Marshall Haze sounds great!! I wonder if this Amp was it's predecessor?

  • I didn't even know they made this in a combo! Sick amp dude!

  • Agree! haha "aah" x)

  • how many bags is this amp?

  • is that the only amp you using on this video

  • Looka at my video if you want a big sound rock... i play with a friend... i hope you 'll like it our song... spend the message if you like our sound... good listening... ++;)

  • how do you play that really squeaky note on

    4:12

  • its called a pinch harmonic you gotta like strike the string with your thumb (pinch it sort of) and the pick hard and in the right spot between the pickups, then vibrato. you need a deccent amount of gain and mids normally help them squeal really well.

  • Pinch harmonic. When playing the note just touch barely touch the string with your thumb right as/after you pick it and it will squeal. Takes practice and sounds better with increased gain. also depends where its done on the string/ distance from the pickup to get the correct harmonic overtone.

  • you say you can't play that good

    your amazing

  • It sure makes a lot of noise lol.

But it sounds good; not superb imo, just good.

  • Have you sold this yet?

  • Just an amazing sound

    Good luck to ya.

  • Playing great! how much did u pay for the amp

  • ahhhh-ahhhhh-ahhh

  • You said you are a bad player, but why do you have that expencive amp and guitar ?

  • Because he can afford it (i think)!

  • My Marshall is 30 watts its loud :)

  • That SOUNDS amazing!

I just bought the same 1977 2104MV amp (different grille cloth) on ebay. If it sounds anything like this, I will be thrilled.

You have a good ear for sounds obviously...keep after the playing. {:^0

  • agreed lol

  • Very nice!

I have the JMP 2150 wich is the 100w version of this amp, though I changed the tubes to the 6550´s.

Check my video to hear the tone.

  • COOL

  • Srsly -- just shut up and play. Haha -- and quit staring at the friggin camera.

    The amp sounds very good.

  • Amp = not bad. Playing = tolerable. Staring at the camera = beyond creepy.

  • @steveinmidtown amp is not bad? try one of the best combos ever!

  • @steveinmidtown he's staring into your soul

  • ahhhhhhhhhhh this is my Marshal ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is how it sounds ahhhhhhhhhhhh!! ahhhhhhhhh!!! ahhhhhh ok! Be smart....don't say ah so much.

  • Shut the fuck up. No one cares what you think.

  • You most certainly do, don't ya, tough guy! C'mon whaddya going do? You're the kind of asshole I love taunting b/c you're so easy to set off.

  • I'm saving up for a jmp head (that's been sitting in the corner of my local guitar store for ever). great sound. edgier than the 60s marshalls, and a lot more sensitive.

btw, shut the fuck up about the guys playing. he's just trying to show you the amp.. and if you really want to prove a point, post a reply video assholes.

  • Exactly

  • lessons would be a better investment than the tolex job, like the amp tho

  • Id like to hear this amp in a bigger room opened up. WIth smsall room reflection its hard to gauge. It has the groel. like to know more bout what he is running for pedals .

  • So, I gather that this amplifier is entirely original, apart from all the internal and external parts...

  • I'm gonna get me one of those! nice sound

  • 3:07-thin lizzy tone

  • hi,what settings were your volume/preamp at on the low input channel?

also, is it possible to have both channel's running into an a/b switch, to switch between clean and dirty sounds? would that sound good?

  • It would be great if you could A/B the 2 inputs, but you cant ...at least I couldnt figure it out. There is some sort of mechanical switch that blocks you from using both inputs...plug in to both and only the HI wrks.

  • o damn, that sucks.

that would solve a lot of problems for a lot of people if you could!

  • Its because the high sensitivity input uses the low sensitivity input as part of the gain stack. You can have a mod done to be able to AB them though. Its pretty safe and totally reversible.

  • It because of the way the input jacks are wired and switch to provide a cascaded gain for the HI input (V1 > V2) or just directly into V2 for the LO input.

  • i hve one for 27yrs the best marshall of them all they roar mnes a 1978 jpm with rust great check it out on dub.jam.force. on utube have 7red england

  • i would rock so hard on that amp you dont even know...awesome dude

  • i don't like how he looks in this.

  • Cool Green. Nice tone.

  • hey!shut up,marshalls kick ass!!dont talk

    about marshall that way!!

  • Marshall amps from these days are mass produced yes. Have you ever played a vintage marshall like this one, then you'll know why is Marshall so great!

And by the way, the Hi-watt High Gain 100 is an amp not a guitar my friend;)

  • as long as its a tube marshall its gunna sound good, unlike the MG and AVT s

  • If you don't like the sound a of a Marshall tube amp, you haven't turned it up loud enough yet..

  • Couldn't agree more. I have owned a JCM 900 since the mid 90s, and until about 2 years ago, I never cared much for it at all. One day, I just felt crazy, and I cranked it up to 10, and that's when I truely fell in love with it. Now it's my favorite amp. I have a few videos of it on my channel.

  • Click on my name. An amp that you can use without blowing the windows out!

  • Hey man! It's incredible! I like so much marshall jmp combo.

    Congratulations!

  • youra retard

  • Why?

you're tell me: "youra retard"?Because I like marshall jmp combo?

    I don't understand.

    :(

  • Awesome playing man. Great tone too. Especially those pinch harmonics on the LP Special. Haha, Just What I Needed by the Cars, pure class!

  • you are terrible!

  • dude, at 1:50, you were creeping me out, that was some crazy eye contact. and I might recommend not playing with your turkey neck. nice playing though.

  • Dont be nasty.

  • He looks like Michael J. Fox when he was younger

  • lol, not realy :P.

  • Holy shit, that's what I said!

  • Guys come on hes making a great contribution, he put a VERY well made video. Plus, it's not like he said he's the best ever, he's simply allowing you to share in the appreciation of a great marshall amp. Which, i think is just great! Thanks.

  • I have a '79 JMP 50, and you show how versatile these amps are.

  • is this a joke?

  • uhhhhhh...ummmm...uhhhh...ummm.uhhhh

  • srop squeezing ur neck

  • Don't get them recovered!!!!!

  • everybodylovesgav wrote ...

"im into Randy Rhoads stuff, and i'm wondering what's the best Marshall amp for me?"

You can get Randy's sound from lots of different amps.

A really good Marshall is this one being demo'd right here. From the Cars, to Heart, The Who, Led Zep, just about any 80's and 70's bands you wanna name, this amp can get you there.

I'd also check out the Vintage Modern 2266 Tube Combo Amp.

  • plus would it be a good idea to huck up my laney gh100ti amp with a marshall

  • im into randy rhoads stuff and im wondering whats the best marshall amp for me?

  • as soon as you hit that first A chord and let it ring it sounded like it was going to go into the whos wont get fooled again pete townsend lol

  • MNot abgreat player but not bad too. You understand the dynamics/textures of playing guitar very well ! brings back memories for me when I went thru all this ! Well done, keeep it up and above all enjoy yourself !

  • Is the goldtop a deuxe minibucker? the tv blows it away!

  • What would you choose.. if you can buy a white JCM800 4010 or a JMP 2104(2204 combo model)

  • sounds good, dont tell him he sucks you idiots, live an learn, hey i started when i was 36, i aint best, but i can bend the strings with about the best of em, im 53, keep on playin man, good luck, an god bless.

  • Why? So he can never use it to its full potentiol? (Speaking as the owner of a 100w Marshall ;o)) 100w Marshall's are nice and all, but 50w or even 40w make it easier to get the truly nice marshall or tube grunt.I had my marshall stack on 6-7 in a practice room once and my ears were ringing for days afterwards. I kind of like to hear things. Im looking to downsize to a 50w as most of the time your mic'd up at gigs anyway. Its not the 60s anymore PAs have moved on :op

  • whoa. 1:35-1:55 are really creeping me out. he says "UH" alot. in fact those are the first words he says!!!

  • Dude, I was fine with you for the entire video and then you get all tacky and say "first thousand bucks takes it". Dont we have online auctions for that?

  • The way you look at the camera creeps me out Lolz

  • Good sounding amp!

I own one myself: The Eupopean version with EL34/ECC83 tubes.

    Your restoration is not perfect:

    1. No goldcaps on the handle

    2. No gold rivets in corners and vent.

    3. Original there are no stamples to hold the tolex.

    4. The speakers are in the wrong position.

    5. The inputs are not original Marshall.

  • 6. There also tubecaps missing!

  • 7. his pants weren't matching his shirt.

  • hey, whats the difference between the JMP and the JCM's?

  • JCM's are the next evolution of the JMP's, they came later in the early 80's as opposed to the 70's.

  • Cool amp. I got a 2187 combo dating '78 and looks identical exept 4 inputs and factory Master volume. It has heavy signs of use but as it was a former Thin Lizzy backstage amp its cool enough. Sounds better than new Marshalls. Could be the one seen in the Rainbow fo
