Dragon Age is awesome, because it gives you a lot of situations where you have to make tough decisions. Furthermore the combat is quite difficult and it gives you the opportunity to decide what tactics to use.

In short, people have different tastes.

XD Then again I'm doing all the quests without any outside information, collecting reagents repeatedly, leveling up, crafting, talking to everyone in each town I reach and searching for secrets, etc.

It's odd that facial animations in Dragon Age aren't as good as those in Mass Effect, even though both were made by BioWare and Dragon Age is a newer game.

Dragon Age has more than 4 times the dialog, as quoted by BioGeorge on the Steam forums.

instead of creating animations for every word spoken, its a program that tries to automatically detect facial features/mouth movement, which is pretty good, rather impossible to perfect

Besides, just because everything's not shiny doesn't mean the game's not good looking. People have stopped looking for realism and started looking for intense shiny bump-mapping and per-pixel motion blur.

the Dragon Age engine has a higher polygon count than a lot of modern games because it's not optimized for consoles and it can handle a lot more character models on screen than a lot of engines.

But I guess if it's not as shiny as COD it's not good looking... lol

Yeah, the gameplay in Mass Effect was really easy and slow, but zomg the story was one of the best I've ever played through, kicked the shit out of Halo for sure. Just going to say I'd recommend giving it another go, cause I tried to play it and at first couldn't get through much cause it felt clunky and boring, but once the game starts to pick up speed it became one of the favorites.

the game is programmed for many many languages which is why the mouth animations are designed to accommodate most of them as best as possible b/c it would take way too much other wise. Plus most ppl do not stare at some1s lips when talking so it should seem pretty darn close unless u just stare at the lips so u can complain about stupid things. lol.

I always play a female character because i find strong female characters sexy, and more interesting because you don't see them a lot. But in every game there is always one or two spots where my character gets hit on to the point of her almost getting raped verbally and physically. I'm tired of the only choice my character getting is to blush and bat her eyes. I want her to fight back for once and teach the asshole that it's not ok.
