  • I like this!! this is side B?

  • @dianaguerrasp - It was issued as Side B. Neither side was a hit so I guess you can choose which you want to be the A side

  • Well all I'VE got to say is.......this is a LOVELY song!

  • @WhereAmI86 - I couldn't agree more

  • just got this for 2 dollars, thanks for posting this otherwise i would have never known to grab it!

  • @donthideyourhate - Nice!!!!!! Glad I could help. 2 bucks is a STEAL for this. If you see ANYTHING on J&S grab it. I haven't found a record on J&S that didn't have at least one good side on it

  • A Gem!!

  • hey PJ, if i'm not mistaken,i believe justine[baby] washington was a member of the plants. do you have information otherwise? thanks for the memories. tom d brick,nj

  • a little LOVE NOTES in there......fantastic

  • Zell Saunders would jettison personnel if they got uppity. The "Search The 7 Seas" group was not the same group.

  • Beautiful -- Really love this. I love discovering great music that got lost in the shuffle

  • Only the second group I've seen on J&S. The first? Johnnie and Joe - Over The Mountain licensed to Chess.

  • J&S actually had a lot of releases.. I have this, a handful of Johnny and Joes and Hal Paige and The Whalers (thanks to Mike - Chess1458 for finding me that one). There are others that I've seen or heard of on J&S - 2 45s by The Climbers, another 45 by The Plants, a few rare gospel things - The Pilgrim Harmonaires and The Gospel Wonders, The Pre-Teens, The Jaynettes, 3 or 4 45s by The Shytones Five, and there are others.. They also put out one record on the Scatt label and a few on Zell's

  • I think I remember the Kodaks being on J&S with something, in fact the song I loved more than anything they did and I can't find it anywhere, not on youtube. God something in title or lyrics, can't beleive I don't remember the title right now, it will come back. Touching lyrics.

  • The song is Look Up To The Sky. I'm surprised nobody has posted it. Private message me your email address if you'd like me to send you an mp3

  • never heard of them nor the song, but this is cool. Thanks Babe....

  • The hardest part is finding dedicated guys. Once you've done that hopefully you'll find a blend. If you live around NJ I can help you get the group going. I know tons of guys that sing. We even have a doo wop meetup once a month that over 40 singers attend

  • That's cool man. Please let me know if you get the group together.

  • great theme!

  • They sure got down on this one. 5 stars

  • LOL u guys am 47 and i have been a Doo wop man since i was 12!! And i love it.................."It's all about the girl"

  • Same here I'm 27 years old and I only listen to doo wop music, not that junk they play now. great song.

  • Very cool. Love to find other young doo woppers

  • Do you have Search The 7 Seas by The Plants? If so please post

  • I don't have that one (yet). I will post it when I find a copy

  • im 28 and i love this music this is real music

  • I'm the same age as you and I agree

  • AHHHHH, how sweet it is!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! What a great song! That's what they used to call a "belt buckler polisher", dancing slow and falling in love! Those were the best days! TheDooWopGirl

    (Jersey Girl, now Tampa Fl)

  • nice sound

  • Good tune, love the piano.

  • Thanks man.. That's 50's blues piano playing which is a little strange for a late 50's NY record. You'd normally hear this in early Chicago group records and some 1950-1955 NYC ballads.

  • GREAT TUNE ...

  • thank you

  • Cool tune,.ktf.

  • thank you

  • this tune sounds a lot like "o what a night"

  • That never crossed my mind but I can see what you mean

  • beautiful ballad recorded in 1957

  • Classic doo wop. Excellent one PJ!

  • True Doo Wop!

  • Talk about the Heart and Soul of RnR.I don't care where it comes from its all great music.Have Mercy.

  • Thanks man. It's a killer track.

  • Superb track.Love it.

  • Thank you

  • PJ:

This one is also great "It is you" man that's some beautiful DooWoping. I feel like I was in New York, The Bronx.

    Thanks again

    Rosie

  • Even though they're a DC group they really have that 50's Bronx doo wop feel. It's most likely the J&S record influence.
