The kick at 1:22 is beautiful. Not because of the technique, but because of the timing and the distraction beforehand. Lots of movement before the kick, taking Randy's eye off the left leg then boom. A great shot.
Also, leading with the front kick then dropping into a punch. He catches so many fighters like that.
And i Love the footwork and the hand speed on his counter punches. Avoiding the punch then following it in with two to 4 straight shots to the head. It's just magic to watch.

Machida makes us all from Brazil proud of him. Before him, everyone was mostly into jiu-jitsu only. Now I wish i knew where I could train Machida's Karate style, but i couldnt find a place...
I love watching Machida fight. His style has a grace to it that the others lack. I have a karate background and seeing the speed with which Machida switches his combinations, his footwork, the quick in and out execution of his techniques, it's inspiring. Karate has been heavily criticized in the past.... no-one is criticizing now! Proof right here that it works and not only does it work, but it's made to look easy.

@FitnessFidelity well, my father and my grandfather were truck drivers, but i can barely drive a car! plus, my brother in law started with karate as a kid and gained a 1st dan, but later he went into kickboxing fullcontact because he didn't like the competitions of karate. anyway, i think that if you're a little flexible you can use karate in mma fights with ecxellent results.

I love watching Machida fight. His style has a grace to it that the others lack. I have a karate background and seeing the speed with which Machida switches his combinations, his footwork, the quick in and out execution of his techniques, it's inspiring. Karate has been heavily criticized in the past.... no-one is criticizing now! Proof right here that it works and not only does it work, but it's made to look easy.

The fact that you say that he had to catch himself from hitting the mat proves he got dropped by the punch. The punch made him lose his balance for a second and Jones was able to apply the choke.

@celticjordan1 I heard Machida had trouble breathing through his nose, it started in the second round the first round he had a clean bill of health. Once Jones started winning Machida couldn't breath through his nose. Jones knew Machida wasn't 100% so he took advantage of Machida. Machida blew his nose after the fight and his cuts and bruises healed instantly. In the rematch Machida will blow and pick his nose before the fight and he will win.

Jon Jones was a bloody mess at the end too. That accidental elbow won Jones the fight. Machida only lost because that bloody cut and that cut made him sleepy thats why he went to sleep. Kevin you should be a MMA writer you are so unbias as a MMA fan.

@kevinsta117 In all fairness, he lost because Jones intercepted him and got a nasty guillotine choke. But I'm a Machida fan through and through, and he was tooling Jones in the stand up.

@iloveasiangirls Machida said that he couldn't see after he was bloodied from the eblow and gash. so yes that decided the fight to me because machida's stand up was proved much better in the first round which we agree on. ( after which jones caught machida with a punch and standing guillotine that only 80 inch reach + can pull off )
