@SpiritOfWolf91 And in accordance to this method of classification, it would also be apparent that you Germans like to make sweeping statements on a nation based upon the actions of one man in a comedy sketch.
@LOLjkSTFUffs I wouldn't have posted this comment, if I had seen this kind of eating for the first time. We once had a british author at school who presented his book and the most striking differences between British and German. He also talked about british people in restaurants who try to eat peas with the fork hold upside down. It was quite fun watching his effords though I didn't really believe him. It seemed too complicated. I'm ready to be taught otherwise :-)
@LOLjkSTFUffs Thanks, and again I've learned something! Would have been quite difficult to imagine all of you eating everything that way. The "normal" way is much more practical. Is it also untrue that turning the fork while eating is "forbidden"? I'm pretty curious about different moralities in foreign countries you see...
@SpiritOfWolf91 Well the word "forbidden" means not permitted. And I don't think anyone's ever done any jail-time for turning their fork, but it could well have been socially frowned upon in years gone by. Nowadays, nobody really cares about that kind of stuff except maybe the queen :O
@LOLjkSTFUffs That's why I put "forbidden" in quotes. I meant "socially not accepted", which in Germany can be eating from your neighbour's plate. In really posh restaurants you can be thrown out for doing so. Without being arrested ;-) No more questions :-P
I cannot believe he mentioned Saxmundham!

I like the fact that numerous youtube-users judge Stephen Fry a genius for eating cornflakes with a knife and fork.

Corn flakes simply aren't the same unless eaten with a knife and fork, I should say.

@SpiritOfWolf91 Bottom line is; posh twats hold their fork that way up, and the rest of us hold it the other way.

That leaves the question - can you eat cornflakes with a knife and a fork?
I tried this, and I say: Well... you can... with a lot of practise and parents who don't mind a messed up kitchen.
