That doesn't mean Crosby is better. Gretzky used to get almost TWICE as many points as the second place scorer. Crosby meanwhile has only ONE scoring title after 6 years in the NHL. Not even close. Anyway the only people in position to compare the two are those who actually WATCHED BOTH play over the years, ie, those aged 35+, ideally aged 40+. If you are in your 20s, you are in no position to make the call, although I'm sure you'll deny it.

Come one, don't be dumb. How many superstars were on Edmonton in 1981-82 when Gretzky got 92 goals and outscored the SECOND PLACE scorer in the entire NHL by almost DOUBLE?

If you can score, you can score. Besides, Pittsburgh has some good players themselves as you should know if you follow hockey.

Still doesn't explain why Crosby has only ONE scoring title. It's arguable he's not even the best in his ERA!!! Let alone better than Gretzky or Lemieux.

True, but the game now suites Gretzkys' style even better. Instigator rule, no clutching and grabbing, less interference and more skating, better equipment and training, and there are many players now who are much smaller than Gretz was. If you have great speed and vision you can do well in todays' league. Gretz had both in spades...especially vision.
